  1. Hi Guys,

Some might have known abt the troubles I faced when I went about getting this baby recently.... but it was all worth it.

Its a splurge especially in this climate but the price was irresistable and there are no reps of this model yet. So here it is. Just couldn't get the lighting right but I must say its a magnificent looking watch. Good balance. Bigger and heavier than the Port 7 days but smaller than the BP. Definitely wearable for people with smaller wrists...

    Enjoy....

    Cheers

  2. I saved these pictures to my "busted gens" folder. I think it really goes to show that these days quality control issues exist everywhere, even in the genuine luxury watch market where you pay thousands of dollars for something that is advertised as having been manufactured with the spirit of excellence in craftsmanship in mind.

I would go to your AD and raise such a storm that it would be like an apocalypse inside the shopping mall if this happened to me.

Any chance of letting us have a peek at your treasure trove of busted gens ???

  3. Guys,

One to one exchange. Within 15 minutes.

The staff at Richemont were quite sheepish at the apparent lack of QC. Gave me a deployant buckle for all my trouble.

Date wheel is not centered for all the 3 replacement watches they gave to me for me to choose from. Is this a trait of the 5001 movt? Any Port 7 day owners who can chime in.

    Cheers

  4. Back from my hissy fit and much calmer now..... Thanks for all the kind words.

I have assurances that it will be resolved. A possible 1 to 1 exchange very likely. So alls well. Just serves to remind us that we should never take things for granted. I sourced the watch from a very very very reliable place so their assurances gave me piece of mind.

What concerns me is that this fault is something that can be avoided with visual QC. Open eyes and look. It shudders to think that there could be a loose screw in the movt. Hey they can miss out a lume marker..... nothing is impossible.

  5. Guys,

I know this is a place for replica discussion but I think I should bring this up as some of do collect gens as well.

I woke this morning feeling upbeat. First time in a very long time that I actually look forward to a Monday. No Monday morning blues whatsoever. Why??? I had an appointment to collect my Big Ingy at 11.30am. Giants won while I slept and Colts beat the Chargers (Lani & I were in da booth calling the play by play, Corgi & Patinga were missed). Perfect day.... so far

Collected the watch... didn't really look in detail... hey its a gen. So off it went to my drawer while I went abt my work (Its a Monday afterall)

Fast forward 6 hours. Back home open the box and the Big Ingy was staring straight at me... mighty fine looking watch, I must say. But hey... wait a minute.

WHERE"S THE BLOODY LUME PAINT AT THE "9" STICK MARKER????????? WTF. The DW didnt look too aligned either.

Off it went into the box. Not looking forward to a Tuesday which I forsee will be a long day at the Service Center.

  6. Sander,

Sorry to hear all your problem but there's very little that we can do once we send the money across. Due to the nature of the product, we have no legal recourse should any problem arise. What we can do is complain and inform others.

I have been faithfully using one dealer eversince I got into this hobby and I believe having a relationship with the dealer is important. Having the right expectation level is also important. These things are priced so for a reason.

That's what these forums are so. To learn from other members' experiences and mistakes. The feedback and trade review are there for such a purpose. Stay away from the bad dealers. They are in the business for money. Let them know of what we feel about them with our wallets. No point complaining abt em only to run back to them for our reps.

    My 2 cents

    Cheers

  7. I feel sorry for you! Once you own one, you'll never stop! :D I ended up selling half of my collection

after owning one koz I know I won't be wearing them anymore (only all the Swiss PAMs and Rollies

and a few good ones remained)! IMHO, AP ROOs are one of the most well built Rep out there out of the box!

Open one up and you'll see!

    Good luck!

    I was afraid of that.....

  8. Senna is King... Arrogant yet likable. Sad that he went the way he did.

Hamilton's a good driver, a very good one I must say. But there's something about him that rubs me the wrong way though. No conspiracy in Glock slowing down for Hammie. Hamilton got 5th fair and square. I dont like it but that's the truth.

Having said that though, Glock's a C O C K for not being able to hold on to 5th position
