I love that GEN LOOKING sec@9 ss white daytona! If I could buy that watch in the pic I would be all over it!
-
Sometimes I buy a rep to see how I like wearing it before taking the plunge on a gen. other times I buy a rep just for the fun of it. I mean I love "pulling off" a very accurate rep on an unsuspecting friend or family member. pulling out the watch box and having friends/family guess rep or gen has been the start of some funny times.

I was only going to come with one watch (THE YM or 5) but if you guys have a request for a watch you would like to see I'll try to bring it. Also I'm more likely to bring extra reps then wallk around with multiple gens. My List: Gen YM plat/ss Gen Pam 005 Gen Breitling Chronomat Gen 1958 Gold Omega Rep DSN Pam 177h Rep GMT IIC CHS

Petes is ok w/me but one thing to consider, there are many places like it all over the city. food is decent but not an "only in NY" kind of place. for that kind of experience Canal St or Little Italy or even my fav of all time Union Sq cafe. or its sister Gramercy tavern. But those 2 places are $$$$ just like Asia de Cuba. My vote here being limited to this list and, as a New Yorker looking to take the out of town guys somewhere special is OTTO's. I still think Old Homestead (steak) would be the best choice for this large group. John

I would love a nice 42 but with the success of the 45 I don't think the market will support 2 UPO's

I agree that the stuff is nice to look at and they can get you good deals on new watches, but from what I have observed the way they refurbish used watches can be sketchy. When I bought my Daytona, I offered to have Rolex fix it and send them the bill. The guy I dealt with flipped out. He basically said that since Rolex does not sell parts anymore they sometimes have to use generic substitutes and rolex wont service watches once generics are used and that he did not want any problems with Rolex USA. Listen, If you get a deal there and are happy with it God Bless! I just feel that even though these guys have the best prices that sometimes the lowest price is not always the best deal.

The 47th st guys...what a group. I bought a real TT zenith daytona w/champ face for $5600 (great price) from them about 3 years ago. The chronos on that thing were Fubar from day 2, on day 1 they worked great. They tried to get that watch right for a month and still could not do it. Finally after along heated discussion they gave me my money back. But the sob post dated the check for a day so I had to wait to deposit it and then for it to clear. It cleared and now I avoid those guys at all costs. Nice stuff to look at but If I didnt live in town so that I could bust chops in person if the watch went bad I would not buy from these guys.

If you want to hit the Gansvoort rooftop bar (lots of eye candy) Then I suggest Old Homestead Steak House across the street. The Martinis are Huge and the Steak is awesome. I'm just not sure on our price limits if any but if you are coming all the way to NYC a good steakhouse (Sparks,Homestead, Smith/Wo, the Palm--which is not to far from the Waldorf, Lugar, (if you want to go to brooklyn) should be on your agenda unless you have vegan/meat issues. of course if you want to go under the radar and have really good food there is a really good vietnamese place on baxter that is dirt cheap and excellent. If you guys want Chinese and not Canal st. stuff in Midtown is Shun Lee Palace which is upscale chinese and AWESOME. ( great Peking duck, great Grand Mariner Shrimp...) Sushi...No really good inexpensive places except for YAMA and no res and really small. John

People here are great. I can tell you that CarlsbadRolex/Terry has gone above and beyond helping me out with my GMTIIC. He has spent his time and $ helping me out with this watch and he offered his help when we had never met and hardly knew each other here. In fact he is the reason I became VIP here. With every new day that I'm here I see why this is a special place. JJ

Wow! T. You were Banned at RG. If they banned you they can ban anybody as your character is beyond question. JJ

How much is a reasonable estimate to fix this sort of thing and who do you guys reccomend to do the work or is ther something else I should try to get this working again. on my just purchased CD 07 everything works fine except: when you pull the crown out 1 step before hack you should be able to "roll" the date wheel to the proper date. Right now setting the date can be set only while in hack eg going around the long way. Also the day only seems to change (at 2 am not 12 BTW) when going around the long way in hack mode (crown pulled all the way out) there does not seem to be a quick set for date. Currently there is no way to have the proper day/date at the same time. Thanks John

I think the date window on the autos scream fake and the manual movement is way more reliable than the a7750
