  1. Of course. Thats why people who have money actually have money. They find a way to get what they want for the right price. I can say after what happened the last few days, I will never own a gen. I bought a skeleton tourbillon for 1,000 bucks and it was a very agonizing experience spending a thousand dollars on a watch.... my cheapest watch if it was real would be my ss sub, which is like 3500 bucks. Not a chance in hell.
  2. eeeesh! Even the gen rolex's do not age very well!
  3. That is absolutely correct. High-end reps are very convincing, and if you want to make it believable, you should generally be well-off. I make incredibly good money in my profession, so having two rolex's and a graham is quite believable to those who know me. See: pic of me with the noobmariner... I love it!
  4. It is beautiful... I want one wicked bad but im waiting to hear back from him as to getting a brand like Breguet or Patek Philippe on the dial... I understand what you guys were saying earlier, I just prefer to have a brand on there.. as opposed to "who makes that?" ".......uhhhh........"
  5. What the hell is this "big bang"?
  6. Have sent PM to Mr. Narikaa. I hope he gets back to me soon with that watch or one similar to it. I love the faceplate design.. alot.
  7. I was looking through the dealer offerings and it looks like PAM111 has the most tourbillons. Unfortunately he seems to be out of commission. Is he even still with us at all? all of his website links are dead.... In any case... I really like the one i attached, can anyone direct me to a dealer that sells one or one similar to it?
  8. This is ridiculous and completely brainless. The person bidding probably has more money than he knows what to do with.
  9. Im startign to get REALLY into tourbillons... but I have to ask, are their any GYRO tourbillon reps available?
  10. They dont make them like that anymore? Shirley you must be joking.... Also, This is my favorite.... Any idea when theyre going to rep the grahams with the antique style lever and that fancy leather clasp like this one has?
  11. The best one is this: Chuck Norris invented black. In fact, he invented the entire spectrum of visible light. Except pink. Tom Cruise invented pink. bahahahahahaa!!
  12. I understand the euromariner is a very nice watch, if your looking for an all-stainless steel example... But if you want a two tone, the noobmariner is the best of the best, the MBK is pretty sought after as well.
  13. Yeah I just bought a regular chronofighter, non-diver and I cant wait to get it... looks like a very nice piece of jewelry.
  14. Is there a rep available of this particular chronofighter, or one with a similar lever, it looks like all the reps have that big "sporty" lever and none have the more classy, old style lever like this one:
  15. Uh, Myswissreplica.com has reps that cost 1200 and even to 1450 for two tone reps. Complete bull. I got a noobmariner tt from eurotimez for about 350 and this thing is a work of art: SOLID FREAKING GOLD. The links, the bezel, the diving extension, ALL FREAKING GOLD, SOLID THROUGHOUT! Only thing that needs a change is the crown which is only triple wrapped, but thats the only real flaw if there is one. I also got the MBK, which is not quite as good, but close.
  16. Crimson Guards are the elite of Cobra's troops... and the Crimson Vanguards are the tough, armored variety! (Im a bit of a GI Joe fanatic as I grew up with them)
  17. Yup, thats me. I bought the MBK and noobfactory and the noob is quite possibly the finest rep imaginable. Links really are hollow, with a thin gold sleeve constituting the link, but the section really is solid gold. the end links are also SOLID gold... the crown is wrapped, so I'll look into replacing that with a gen crown at some point when the gold starts to run out... As for the bezel, I believe that could be solid too...we'll see as time goes on. Movement on both watches is phenomenal. But the noob wins. One tiny advantage of the mbk is the "rolex" engraving around the rehaut, and thats it. Although the mbk has solid links, it does not have real solid SELs, which i think is just as important as the links themselves. The alignment of the mbks crown is off, the date magnification is too strong, bezel rotation isnt as smooth as the noob, god, the list just goes on and on.
  18. Heh... its funny cuz my boss took me out to lunch a few months ago... I noticed he was wearing a rolex datejust and i flipped! "Oh my god, you have a rolex!!?" "yup." "Thats incredible... how much did it cost?" "It was 7,000 dollars." "Really?" "yup, but i got it for 100 bucks... then the guy closed his trenchcoat and walked away." *smiles* Not a good fake tho, gold fading badly, the printing on the dial is spotty all over, and it has quartz movement.
  19. Well Laz, I speak for all of us when I say this, but the primary reason alot of us like replicas is due to them costing substantially less than the real thing. People like to get these for the impression they make on others... I guess having a rolex is kinda like saying "hey, look what I can afford." I personally would probably never get a genuine one only because 1- theres SOOOO many fakes out there I would be PETRIFIED of fraud no matter where it came from, and 2- a well built rep looks and feels so close to the real thing, still has the classy look, and achieves the same result. The only real detriment is having to face the reality that it is in fact a fake and is not a real rolex (or whatever brand) and I suppose the fear of an expert noticing its fake and the embarrassment that follows. Ive been lucky so far with that for some reason.
  20. Aol news today listed a number of mistakes people make on an interview, and listed some hiring managers personal experience of silly mistakes candidates make... these are entertaining to say the least: Unfortunately, many job seekers are not only ignoring these tips, they're making mistakes that leave unforgettable impressions for all the wrong reasons. Here are 10 real-life examples from this year's survey: Candidate answered cell phone and asked the interviewer to leave her own office because it was a "private" conversation. Applicant told the interviewer he wouldn't be able to stay with the job long because he thought he might get an inheritance if his uncle died and his uncle wasn't "looking too good." The job seeker asked the interviewer for a ride home after the interview. The applicant smelled his armpits on the way to the interview room. Candidate said she could not provide a writing sample because all of her writing had been for the CIA and it was "classified." Candidate told the interviewer he was fired for beating up his last boss. When the applicant was offered food before the interview, he declined saying he didn't want to line his stomach with grease before going out drinking. An applicant said she was a "people person" not a "numbers person" in her interview for an accounting position. During a phone interview the candidate flushed the toilet while talking to hiring manager. The applicant took out a hair brush and brushed her hair.
  21. So today we had a July 4th parade in Hingham, MA. I play for a drum corps from Boston. A trumpet player was giving me a ride back to my car afterwards, and I noticed he had a nice black submariner on. When I asked him about it, he said "no, this was $89... I did have a real rolex once. A friend of mine fell on hard times in the mid-80s and asked me to loan him $350 and I could keep his rolex as collateral. I hung on to it, a stainless steel daytona for 5 years and he gave me 350 to trade it back." Heck, renting a rolex for free? Who'd a thunk it?
  22. Oh yeah I just noticed that. So there are places I can put down a small deposit on jewelry and then take it with me and drop off the face of the earth? someone point me that way!
  23. yeah ive seen that before. That kid is an absolute re**** to think he could get a real rolex ANYTHING for $500. Furthermore, the asian guy flips the judge off indirectly after the verdict is delivered.
  24. I just did this guys... and I can say it did improve the "fluidity" of the bracelet slightly. My ss sub was already pretty good, so it wasnt a drastic improvement. Also, I used olive oil, about 12 hours.
