Source for crown/tube for SMP chrono?
bonecollector replied to bonecollector's topic in The Omega Area
Thanks. I know about the gen parts at ofrei, but as I said above, I'd prefer to go rep because I'd be sure the parts would fit. -
I've been haunting all the forums with this question - I need to replace the stripped crown/tube on my SMP Chrono. I was thinking gen for a while, but every repair guy on the forums I've contacted told me that a gen may or may not fit. I'd prefer to source a rep crown/tube somewhere so that I don't spend money on the gen crown and tube and then find out they could not be installed. It appears speedy would do it with rep crown/tube, but his turnaround time is something like three months. Any other suggestions? Thanks

Looks like a wannabe Omega Moonie.

Might as well get a gen PO with it, too.

The method that I use for getting spring bars off in about a second with virtually no risk of a scratch is dental floss. Not my idea, but it works great.

Great shots! (Waives to fellow A700 user).

I don't normally ask for help, but I need your prayers

How did I miss this? Somewhat belated thoughts and prayers to you, Nicola and Robin. Hope it's just a scare and nothing more. -
SOH non-chrono V2 not available anymore?
bonecollector replied to veja74's topic in The Breitling Area
Just bumping to see if BNWMan got his watch. So is the final verdict - the "real" V2 is out of stock everywhere? -
Let me introduce you to my best friend: It's all relative. I decided a long time ago that if my hair started to go, I would just embrace the hairless look. It started its retreat, and one day on a trip to the barbershop I made the decision to crop it real short. Upon coming home, my wife declared that it made me look like a member of the "Hitler Youth." I concentrated on the "Youth" part and took it as a compliment. She has now done a 180 and says real short hair makes me look like Brad Pitt (trust me, I don't). So, as I said, it's all relative. Don't let your mother determine what looks good on you. Or, you could always go retro and rock this look, and no one will be the wiser:

It's no wonder some long time members drift away...

Many, many people are rude in person. Add to these people's normal rudeness the anonymity of the internet and what do you expect? "The world revolves around MEEEEEEE!!!!!" It's not this forum, it's every forum. Hell, just go outside. -
Can anyone tell me what this movement is?
bonecollector replied to bonecollector's topic in General Discussion
Reg's guess was a Seagull 25J, but he pointed out that he's no expert, either. Is the Seagull better/worse than the standard 21J? Anyone know what the bph is on the Seagull? Thanks -
This is Narikaa's Aquaracer 500M. He didn't know what the movement is, so he sent me a photo, which doesn't help me much - I can't tell a DG from an ETA or anything else. I assume it is the standard 21J, but can anyone tell?

Great news. Now, can we find out where the seller got the rep? Sounds like it was a great one.

Are all the Calibre 1's the same version?
bonecollector replied to bonecollector's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
Your review is making me buy it!! Very hard to tell whether it is V1 or V2 from dealers' photos. Plus I saw a discussion on one of the forums that there may be as many as four different versions. As must as they are "trusted" dealers, I don't really trust them to tell me whether it is a V1 or V2, or even actually know for that matter. -
I've looked at a few dealers' sites, the watches all look about the same and the movement listed is all the same, but the price differences are unusually big. Does anyone know if there more than one version of this watch?

I've seen replicas of $50 Vostoks. Very bad replicas.

Ah, that's why I couldn't find it before! I found a reference to it on another forum, which took me to yet another forum, but I finally tracked it down. Thanks!!

I bought it a few months ago, worn it a few times and the last time, the snap closure is not snapping. I think the little spring that holds the nub in place slid out of position. I think I've seen a post here with detailed instructions on how to fix the problem, including photos, but I searched and could not find it. Anyone have a link? Thanks

Looking for a local watchsmith in SoCal

PM me as well, please. -
The more I see it, the more I think it is next on my list. A beautiful, timeless design.

Just got mine today as well, came into the office after lunch and it was waiting for me. A beauty. Thanks, Reg!

I especially don't like people who get their watches three weeks before they order them. Damn Vikings!
