  1. I would say it's pretty certain
  2. lol - and I was thinking.. what? finally a bad review of Chris - you should see some of the crap that comes from the other trusted dealers - Chris will definitely look after you
  3. I bought 3 quartz cheapies from my local parts wholesaler for about $3 each and spent some time with my $60 watchmakers kit dismantling them for fun - gave me a pretty good understanding of how a watch is constructed - then I moved on to replacing batteries for friends and family members - moved on to replace a crystal - then replaced a miyota 2035 movement - broke a crown stem over tightening the crown to it - took a couple days just to figure out how to remove the stem to begin with - each movement has a different spot where to press and this particular movement needed to turn a screw 1 1/2 times 1st - if I had opened a $2-300 rep to start, I would have surely broke it After a few weeks of tinkering, I opened up my Omega PO to find bad bearings in the rotor... my watchmaking hobby continues It can be a lot of fun but breaking something expensive will bite hard - good luck and have fun - use the search feature of the forum and read as much as you can - also google is your friend - when you're stuck, just post a new thread as there are many very knowledgeable folks here
  4. haha - I couldn't have said that better in house movements you can only see from the back? - it only bothers rep geeks - a solid watch that looks like the gen from a foot or two away is all most ever care about
  5. interesting indeed... but I call [censored] - as much as I want to believe it someone somewhere would have posted if a 7750 could be had for $45 I'd like for someone to prove me wrong though
  6. that is true there is nothing finer, than a sixty-niner
  7. no I say it write - your are just thought you're corrected - np, I'd would let it slide
  8. I hear there are plans for RWG4 already which is basically an improved RWG3 but version 2 isn't as good as V1 - many say the 1st version is best - I agree
  9. ah yes, you're are correct onze - looks like you're not just a pretty avatar
  10. oh I think you already did just to be sure @ greg - I think it's time to change the link and image name so the "roll over" tactic wont work
  11. The question is, do you want an adults car, a teens car, a gas saver or a comfortable boat ride - there are just too many vehicles to choose from and it seems you're not fully settled on the type of car you want (mid life crisis? I'm joking) I've owned a huge list of vehicles in my time and my Merc S420 beats them all in reliability, features and build quality but this baby burns gas big time - the C class is too small - so I would suggest an E class for you - they have a generous mid size to them with nice styling. 1998 Merc E240 V6 Elegance 4dr
  12. for the most part - you get what you pay for when dealing with *reputable* dealers. In some cases the cheap version will have the same case and construction as the expensive one but will lack the Swiss movement or the movement will be a real cheap one (DG2813 vs Asian 2824), lack AR (Anti-Reflective) coating and come with a cheap strap - if you're not picky, you can get many nice watches at a low price point but for the watch connoisseur, only the best version will do. Generally, the rule is - you get what you pay for. pick your dealer 1st, then your watch also, NO NEED TO YELL
  13. *almost posts... looks at John and scurries off to the bin*
  14. put some bright light on it and if you see a blue/purple tint, it has AR - you might have to change the angle of reflection around to notice it my Planet Ocean 007 has a very faint AR, you can barely notice it
  15. cheapies at Rubies http://www.nicereplica.com/search.php?Cate...mp;x=32&y=9
  16. *stares at the soap... then looks around... then continues washing without soap*
  17. heh - no I meant 80 years old - you know, back when you were young ok, never mind, wasn't that funny to begin with
  18. one skin... two skin... lol I've actually seen this many years ago
  19. wow, if 80's was your youth, you must be well over 100 years old by now
  20. *nods*
  21. audio gear? car audio? another past hobby of mine - didn't last terribly long but I did end up with a Rockford fosgate egg and an Alpine v12 powering 2x800watt dual coil Audiobhan 12's (chrome baskets) inverted and bridged to 1ohm in a sealed box on top of another 2x800watt Rockford fosgate Punch 12's in a bandpass - 1farad cap, crossover, etc. etc. - I was aiming for a 15" Brahma sub with JBL 1200.1 - but I got old too quick I guess some Adire goodness
  22. IWC PILOTS- staring John Malcovich a lil cheezy but fun
