  1. Does anybody have a Simona Vintage Blue strap? I'm considering getting one for my 082, but it'd be good to see a couple of photos and wrist shots (ideally mounted on a blue dial PAM) before deciding! Cheers. EDIT: Alternatively, any strap suggestions for an 082 would be good (no exotic leathers) - A custom black calf Delaurian with blue stitching / blue sealed edges might look nice, I'd like it to be different but not over the top!
  2. Excellent job, and some nice looking watches. Loving the Pre-V and PAV style strap - if only you had Pre-V lug screws to finish it off
  3. That's the one! This one was mine, but it's now gone to another member - and been replaced by two more!! They've not been cheap to acquire, but should make for a pretty good project.
  4. Thanks for your help. I have also checked with a watch-material house / watchsmith, who is unable to identify it from the photos - as you say, it seems to interact with the clutch so presumably there may be another gear hiding in there?! I think I may end up getting a watchmaker to photograph all of the parts whilst this one is being serviced; I've already created 3D representations of all of the other parts by ripping a key-wound movement apart!
  5. Does anybody know what the small wheel is that engages with the crown wheel on this movement? All of the reference material I have refers to the crown wheel, ratchet wheel and click - but not the smallest gear (which seems to be pretty much unique to this movement, perhaps it is due to sharing the same components as an alarm movement?) Any help would be appreciated - I'm ideally looking for a Swiss part / Bestfit reference or term. Cheers.
  6. I can't comment on the crown, but the movement looks terrible. The shape of the plates are wrong (Cortebert not Rolex shape), blued screws, aftermarket engraving, evidence of hand shaping of plates?! Not even worth $300 IMHO - correct me if it's the real deal, but I certainly wouldn't want to receive that through the post for the money they are asking.
  7. Cheers guys, good suggestions - I'll drop you emails later (I'm just doing a little work in Illustrator now, so hopefully that'll be this evening!)
  8. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep that in mind. I still need a 44m case (for a certain Pre-V project ) so I'll maybe sort this out at the same time. I'm not sold on DSN cases, but it may make my life easier to buy the lot together. Cheers!
  9. Nice one, glad they fit! I've just received a SS crown for a project I'm working on (sealed OEM pack for a mere $79!), although I need to sort the tube out - Jimmy is out of them, so looks like a modding job is required. Does anybody understand Panerai reference numbers? I know the MX... is the newer MX series, however the package for my crown has the code VC070212 B - any ideas? It seems to be real, seems to be for a manual and seems to be a good buy!
  10. Can't stand the diver, but I'm glad the case has been made...
  11. Swiss, no reputable material house would touch an Asian copy movement with a barge pole (unless explicitly stated - like the Cousins 'China' range).
  12. They fit - just make sure you select the long ones!
  13. What do you think of this Jochen Benzinger Angelus Calibre 240 non-alarm skeleton movement? Not a bad price, all things considered!
  14. Sound like a good offer, glad you've got it sorted! Good luck with the project.
  15. Nice movement, it'll be good to see the results. If you PM me your address, I'll send you a plain winding gear if you don't already have one.
  16. Definetly a 6497-2; if you could ever find a Swiss 6497-2, it would have standard Unitas plates - Soprod (?) make custom plates exclusively for Panerai. Saying that, the ETA stamp doesn't mean it'd be Swiss anyway - the only way to ensure you a getting a genuine Swiss 6497 is to buy one from a material house. The movement you've got is pretty good though, The Zigmeister did a review last year of the new 'high beat' movements, and seemed to be impressed!
  17. I noticed that, I'm not sure why the rep factory picked metallic numerals! Very odd indeed.
  18. No idea, although an AD would be able to tell you (be warned, they're not cheap though!).
  19. Thanks for the reply Frank, that sounds good. Is it a simple job? I've got 3 movements to install (including for friends) so it may be too time consuming for him to resize 6 seperate hands. If you are able to help, I'd be happy to cover all costs and be sure to find a few extra 'things' to help your projects! Cheers, Ross
  20. Here's my 3717 on a genuine strap from a St. Exupery Chrono. I'm not completely sold on it - the strap is amazing, but I think it would go really well with a brown or white dial. Sorry about this one - the battery died whilst I was uploading it!
  21. My only decent local watchsmith has retired, and I'm stuck with Unitas hands to fit a Cortebert movement - does anybody know of anywhere I can send them to be resized? As far as I know, it's a straightforward job with a staking set. If any members have the facilities to do so, I've got at least 5 pairs of hands to fit a 47mm Panerai (blued, Fiddy style and vintage 3646 style) that they could have in exchange for their efforts! Any suggestions welcome.
  22. Regardless of the high gloss and terrible replication of the text 'Marina Militare' (which wouldn't be on this variant of a 3646 anyway), no production Panerai Pre-1997 had 'Swiss Made' on the dial. Just because the seller claims it is genuine and sells it at a hugely inflated price, it's not even worth the cost of a stamp to post it!
  23. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the black/black dial was released after the pusher changed shape to a tapered button? It certainly looks strange; low feedback, strange location, reserve price way below market value, no papers - just a
  24. The initial production was for the $318 polished steel version, with around 50 units - the Black Knight will follow, but expect to wait another couple of weeks!
