  1. Well done everybody - lets hope the next lottery gets some support!
  2. It looks great, good work. I don't know where everyboady manages to find these RXW cases for 6152 projects - have I missed something?!
  3. It looks good to me! How did you find out he had them available - just by contacting him in the hope he had spare crowns, or are they advertised elsewhere?
  4. Crazy. Actually, I'd love one - I think it's more of a 'collectors' item than an everyday watch. Although looking at that picture again, it looks like the guy hasn't had a decent meal in months so the watch probably looks bigger than it really is!
  5. I know it looks big in pictures by itself, and 63mm sounds big. Here's it in context - do you still want it?! If you were to wear that in the UK, you'd get stopped for carrying (more accurately: dragging) an offensive weapon. It's a beast.
  6. I've fallen out with the lottery, it hates my computer! I can't login anymore (I don't really need to, I just wanted to check to confirm the lottery numbers). Ho hum, 'tis not important. Could someone please buy all of the tickets, I'm getting impatient waiting.
  7. I'm working on a project, and wondered if anybody knows of a 47mm Panerai with a sandwich dial and auto movement that is readily available? I know there's the 203, any ideas if there are any others? The reason I ask is because I'm looking to create a custom dial - it'll be stripped, so it really doesn't matter what is on it as long as it has seconds @ 9, and the usual digits and indexes. If anybody has an 47mm asian auto, I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know the exact distance from the canon pinion to the seconds hand. If anybody has such a dial available, or even a complete watch going cheap (ish!), please PM me because I need all the help I can get!
  8. That'd be telling! Lets just say it was less than most decent Angelus clocks go for on the 'bay. I've got too many project ideas in mind - I wish I could get another 3 and do them all! If anyone has a 6152/1 style case for sale, please PM me!
  9. No feedback from that one yet! This was a bit of a gamble - trusting Babelfish translations to guess what I'd be receiving. It's awesome - I gave the stem half a turn, and it's been ticking away for hours flawlessly. All I need now is Davidsen's new project to stick it in!!
  10. Sorry for the crappy pics, the movement got in the way
  11. Is it just a coincidence that the majority of people having issues are based in the UK, or certainly Western Europe?
  12. I agree with most of what has been said - keep an area exclusive to supporters. At the moment, Supporter status does not offer anything over standard membership (other than posting in the trading area, and the psychological side of things!) - I probably would have become a supporter a month or two earlier if someting like the trading area was 'out of bounds', and I should imagine most of the members here would feel the same. I guess it's about trying finding a balance; whilst you want to encourage supporters, newer members could easily be driven to another board that has an open trading area.
  13. It blocks me with Tesco broadband from home. It's only started to happen over the last few weeks. The only way I've been able to fix it is going through a porxy - if you're able to use a VPN server (?!) ie. from work, go through that instead. The site I've been using proxy information from is Proxy Servers. I generally try have to try a few before it works - I've had more success with 'transparent' servers (I'm not sure how secure this is), just make sure you've got a decent up-to-date firewall. I generally turn the proxy settings on when I use RWG, and disable it the second I leave! If anyone has any advice on the safety of using a proxy, I'd be interested to find out more.
  14. Glad you posted some pictures eventually, it looks great - well worth the effort you went to. You've got a lot invested in this project and the dial will really finish it off. One thing that concerns me is the time on each of your posts - do you not sleep?!
  15. It worked that time around - I had to enter my password 4 times in a row though!! Good luck everybody, and hurry up and buy tickets before I waste all of my money
  16. I registered the first time I bought tickets. The same problem happened originally, then I went back and it was fine. Oh well, I'll try again this evening, thanks for your help!
  17. I just tried to buy some more tickets to speed things up, and once again was refused access. After typing in my username and email address, a Windows password box appears - I fill in the username / password and access is denied. I just wonder if there is some kind of scripting error that is preventing some people from buying tickets, thus explaining the low sales? So, has anybody else experienced any problems?
  18. I'm surprised there are no takers - $5 wouldn't even buy lunch. *bump*
  19. The one V posted is the production version of the 203, the one on the Panerai site is the prototype with the different CG. He's right, the colour is slightly greyish - but I guess there is only about 500 people in the world that would notice the difference! It looks great anyway, you'll have a queue of people waiting to take it off of you if you ever decide to part with it!
  20. Damn you! (I've been trying to get hold of a tobacco dial for a long time) It looks nice. Was this from Andrew before they ran out? Lume will help - the movement swap won't make it any more accurate, but I guess it'll look better. Are you going to keep it with the crown guard 'down' as the prototype is, or get a reversed one? Personally, I think you should sell it
  21. I saw a 6152 project that used a Fiddy as a base, the 'Reg TM' was on the underside of the CG - so it must be possible on certain models?
  22. I just wondered if anybody could help with a project. I'm trying to find either: - High res pictures of the 6152 dials (close up of text and numerals, ideally 'LUMINOR PANERAI') - Panerai dial in AI / EPS format (pref. vintage) - If anybody has Zupra Sans as a font - this is almost the same as the vintage Panerai font, and will only require minor 'tweaking'. Unless anybody knows of a better font to match the text? I already have a tidy version of the dial I would like in Illustrator, but I'd rather make sure it's as accurate as possible before going any further. I don't know if anybody here knows about making a custom dial - I have a few ideas of places to go, but for a one off project, it could end up expensive! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
