  1. Thanks guys, Aparently this watch has had a history of doing something simlar to this before it was sold. It was serviced by a watch maker prior to sale. This is my first experience with this watch. I think the stem is too long. Thanks for the link, I will let everybody know what the end result is... I apreciate everybody's response! -K

    A 7750

Greetings all, I have what apears to be an Asian 7750 that is sitting in a Pam. The intesting thing is that the movement runs when taken out of hack, but as soon as the crown guard is applied, the movement stops. The reversing wheel, click, and all the gears are intact without any signs of wear or damage. It apears as though the crown guard exerts too much pressure and somehow causes a flex or extra strain to the drive gear via the stem. Easy fix? Any suggestions/ideas of what to look at to confirm is allways apreicated... Help? Thanks! -K
  3. I personaly dont think you have much to worry about. Depending on what type of account you have, you are limited to how many transactions you can recieve funds with. Paypal wants their comission for more than 5 or 6 transactions in a 12 month time period (or there abouts) I will bet that they want you to 'upgrade' to a premier account so they can get their cut. Now if you already have a premier account and have already verified, then I dont have any idea what they want. Best of luck, let us know what happens. -K

Ummmm.... Yeah! What Toadtorrent said! Geeze!.... you didnt leave anything for me to add!!!! Surfer, Toadtorrent just did about 2-3 weeks of research for you dude! This should help you spend your money faster! The 3717 is one of my favs, when you get yours, you will understand why too... Good luck! Toadtorrent, Your awesome!, simply awesome! -K

  6. Newegg, definately.... Never had a problem with them... -K
  7. Ask for a movement photo... looks pretty decent to me Good luck! -K
  8. Wow. Thats a lot of great info.... I am gonna have to spend several hours going through all of it Much apreciated! -K
  9. Much thanks! That is exactly what I was looking for! -K
  10. Rikske, Awesome link!, Thanks for that. Toadtorrent, You are a wealth of information! I do have some additional questions... How does one find a website for HK Tan? Would he have the branded deployant or buckle or do you source that elsewhere? Thanks for the input! -K
  11. Greetings, I am intrested in getting a level 1 TZ toolkit. Anybody have any suggestions of which movement to get with the kit? Here are the choices: "FM 96 - Standard 96 (ST96/FHF96) movement, ETA 2801-2, and also the ETA 6497-1 Pocket Watch Movement " Also, any suggestions of 'Oh... dont forget this...' or ' Switch this with that...' is apprecitated. Thanks! -K
  12. Greetings all, I am eagerly waiting the arival of my 3717. I have been surfing, looking for new straps. I have discerned that the OEM measurements for the 3717 is a 21mm/18mm. However, All the strap manufactues that I can find only stock even number straps... (22mm and 20mm) So what do you do? Take a 20mm and have it slap? or do you shoe horn in a 22mm and have a ridge? I realize that there are lots of custom straps that are made to order. I have searched for a link, email or blog site for HK Tan but to no avail... anybody have an idea where I could look? Sorry if this has been covered in the past. I have been using the 'search' button, but couldnt find any link. Thanks, -K
  13. I typicaly stay 'Thanks' and see if they bring up more conversation about makes, models etc... If the conversation turns to where I know that the guy knows watches, I disclose its a rep. If not, I dont make a big deal that somebody noticed. More times than not, the converstation moves to something else after the inital exchange. -K
  14. Would that be well hung?!?? It is an awesome piece of work! -K
  15. They should be able to. You need to find a replacement first. I think you will be surprized how quickly the repair should be.. (15-20 minutes). I think you could probably do it yourself with a few basic tools. I understand about being hesitant.... this can be pretty intimidating. Read first, then do... (measure twice, cut once) If not, I believe that there are many members on the forum that know of a good rep friendly watchmaker in England/EU that could help you out... Good luck! -K
  16. Mjg060468, Well the good news is that it doesnt seem to be a huge problem. The black thing just appears to be the gasket for the caseback. If it isnt pinched in half or otherwise damaged, it just needs to be put back in its place. There are plenty of tutorials on the forum showing similar procedures. Likewise, it apears as if the crown was broken at the proximal not the distal end. Once the back is off and the seal is placed in its position, it should be a relatively easy fix to replace. Again there are plenty of tutorials of how to do it your self on the forum. Use the search button to start your repair. If not, there are many rep friendly watchmakers all over the place and like I said (to my untrained eye) it appears to be an easy fix. What part of the world do you live? Good luck! -K
  17. Dude, Welcome to the forum! Do yourself a favor.... become a professional golfer instead... Just make sure that you choose a subspecialty that ends in "-ology".... No matter who becomes president, medicine is gonna suck for a while for the primary care guys. -Ologists will get hit during the second term. Take your mind off it and enjoy the forum -K
  18. Help me here guys.... I kind of look at it like how the military does all the PM on all their aging aircraft... they systematically replace parts, pieces, and systems bit by bit. Pretty soon, they have 'rebuilt' the aircraft around the pilot. Thats how they manage to keep 30-40 year old aircraft air worthy. So why the analogy? Isnt a service from a watch dealer, replacing a movement when it dies, changing dials etc.. along the same lines? If you have a favorite (come on, you know you do....) and you take care of it, change what needs changing, things should run indefinatetly... Or am I missing the point? Thx, -K
  19. How about a small section of "OMG-that is the WORST disaster"/ Rep/ attempt that we have or have seen on ebay, canal street etc... -Title it "what not to do"--- or better yet, put them on the cover and have nothing but photos of everybodies best... my 2 cents.. -K
  20. Thanks! At least the is no pressure.... What could possibly go wrong?!!? I will review your tip on the 'how to'... I apreciate the direction and will let you know what happens...- -K
  21. I am guessing at the CN/DSN Rep case... emphasis on the word guess
  22. Toadtorrent, Thanks for the info. I read your preivious post, originaly dated several months back. My concern was if anything had changed from our dealers and their supplies. (like only having high beat Asian with some combo of new/old dials....) My real concern is actually with the subdials and their hand sizes... I am going to opt for a low beat 7750, as I will be exchanging the movement to a Swiss eta 7750. Hands then become one less thing to source. Thanks again for the input! -K
  23. Tomhorn, Thanks for the confirmation... It never hurts to ask the question to make sure... While we are on the subject, would anybody have the part numbers for the date wheels? (Cousins, or anywere else) Are they specfic for the IWC or are they all the same? Briank996, How old is your 3717? Who did you get it from? The low beat Asian (21.6) now seems to be a "special" request. The majority of the 7750's apear to be the high beat version. At least thats what I have discovered in the last little bit... Thanks again, -K
  24. Greetings all, I am still doing some homework regarding the 3717. I have discovered that I can still get a V1 dial. I have read in previous posts that it is better to get a low beat Asian movement (21.6) 7750 as compaired to the high beat {28.8} Asian 7750 especially if you are considering a Swiss ETA 7750 movement swap. As I understand it, there is aparently a signifigant difference in hand sizes between the two? Can anybody confirm if this is indeed still the case? or does it even matter? Thanks, and as allways, any input is greatly apreciated! -K
