  1. Here are some wristies of the group ordered modified MBW AP Jumbo's that Rolexfinder organised for all of us. For me the main issue was the silver screws instead of the gold ones. Enjoy ! Also lastly with the GMT
  2. Well mine arrived in the post yesterday and I am pleased with what I have received. The silver screws was the main issue for me and they are just as shown from the beginning, the closed case back was a added bonus really. Mine is the black dial so can't really comment on the white dial issue mentioned above. The dial / handset are fine for me but if someone is going to work on that project, sign me up without a doubt. Thanks again Paul!
  3. Actually its up for sale at the moment if anyone is interested and in the area Anyway... back to the watches ! Can't wait for some people to start getting their RG Montoya's to see how they compare.
  4. tech, they do have a few Pam boutiques but they aren't that popular here to be honest... here it seems all about the gold and bling really. Can't say I have even seen a single one on someone's wrist 'in the wild'. deniz, well often I buy the reps before deciding if I want the gens, and more importantly because I appreciated reps long before I had money to buy the gens !
  5. There is a very slight difference it has to be said, the rep is slightly too dark, but bear in mind that the Montoya just did come back from a polish - also a side note, the strap on the gen Montoya can't handle the weight of the beefy watch and this is the second strap he has had to put on after the first one broke off near the links over time (he had it super-glued to hold it together at one stage which I thought was funny) ! The lining of the back of the strap is also a nice lovely suede almost finish. Plaifender - Well I do have a few other toys I did manage to fit 2 chicks in the front seat once though -- Bruce Wayne stylee Which if you and Dani wanna do.. I dont mind....
  6. Thanks, I wouldn't mind a Bugatti but its sadly out of my budget for now
  7. Hahaha, lets just say I have done more then hold the keys since it is actually mine ! Maybe one of the reasons I never been asked if its a rep or gen i have on my wrist no matter how ludicrously expensive
  8. Today I had the opportunity to meet up with a friend who has a nice collection of gen AP's, luckily today on his wrist was the RG Montoya so I grabbed it for a few shots against my Rep RG ROO Rubberclad.. I should mention he used to own the RG Rubber which he swapped out recently for the Restivo and he thought it was his old one I picked up from a dealer friend who he gets his AP from.. in other words - he didnt suspect it was a rep at all. Here are some shots, including some RG montoya ones for those who are getting the rep for comparison.
  9. Thanks for the comparison shots ! Overall what are your thoughts on the rep, now that you have the gen in your hands ?
  10. I think the reason no one is biting is because while they have -kind of- fixed the date wheel spacing they have messed up the font size / thickness which imo is a bigger flaw
  11. LOL well I guess it is in our nature to be suspicious on here Anyway found this on LB, its called the Restivo http://www.luxurybazaar.com/items/itemid_9450_Royal_Oak_Offshore_Restivo_Perpetual_Calendar_RG.html
  12. Thanks for the shots.. I'm waiting for my RG ROO to arrive (just paid for it today so will be a few days) and will try and get some side by side as well, but just in case I can't those will come in handy. He knows I own reps but it doesn't bother him that much, having said that though every time I see him I have had my gen 116520 or some other gen on just out of pure co-incidence so I imagine hes probably forgotten I broached the subject.
  13. Been getting friendly talking about watches with an AP connoisseur, this guy has it all - Survivor, Don Ramon, RG Barachello, Alinghi and his latest purchase this AP ROO RG Perpetual 1/25 pieces only (I forget what its called exactly) retailing near the $100k mark. He has the RG ROO rubberclad but wanted something more exclusive.. Slightly fatter then the RG ROO because of the complications movement. I'll see if I can organise some comparison shots for some of the newer models that have been hitting the market over the past few weeks. TBH it's not my cup of tea and I prefer the normal RG ROO rubberclad but I figured since its 1 out of 25 its worth taking a wristie that some of you might enjoy.
  14. So you mean this is not a real AP ?! As said above, if you can source us a better one Master 707 - then please do and I am sure you will get many people who will appreciate it - but this is the best available option to us non 25 year experienced-connection people, which has only been made available thanks to the effort put in by Paul. SO now.... Paul... please get shipping !
  15. A beautiful watch ! I had the 7750 one and wore it daily till eventually one of the pushers just popped off.
  16. They look amazing Paul, thanks for the photos and of course for organising this for us
  17. Wohooo ! Great stuff - cant wait to get this one on the wrist
  18. Very nice indeed ! Sadly one of our business partners has the gen one of these so I can't get one but they do look great.
  19. Damn ! I was just about to the pull the trigger on this one as well, since it seems the Rubber one is sold out at king / josh's... good thing I checked here first Ah well now I gotta start thinking which one to go for now all over again
  20. Wow, great news ! This will be my only rep in almost over a year+ as nothing else excited me and I can't wait.
  21. Looks good, thanks for the update - all I really ever cared about was the non-gold screws personally but I guess its a good thing the rest of you are so particular Cheers Paul
  22. Good stuff ! Can't wait personally for this one, been wanting one for a while! Thanks for taking the time Paul
  23. I love the Santos and am acutally still gutted I missed out on the Rocket dial's completely and then when he sold his personal one as well. Rocket = Rocket754 who posted above who like many of us has a thing for the Santos, who comissioned a run of 9 dial's I think which were very good but sadly no more were made as the manufacturer refused or something IIRC (wasn't very active in those days). When my Santos 100 chrono did work before dying it was on my wrist almost every day. While these reps have improved they still have a way to go sadly as they seem to be dancing back and forth with these flaws. These PWC ones mentioned here seem quite good, will have to look into that one as completely missed that whole chapter!
  24. Very very nice mod, makes an already good peice look fantastic
