  1. Ah my bad! didn't think the pic posted was from King as well considering how bad the earlier one was! Email on the way to king (with you mentioned usctrojans11) thanks guys
  2. Very nice, whose that from ? I guess I know what my next purchase is going to be
  3. Just noticed it on Josh's site, not sure about the green personally but I know some of you have been waiting for it and its always good for us they are pushing out the latest models I just wish they would fix the Don Ramon caseback! http://www.1-pc8838.com/0497a-p-8987.html
  4. Wow these have certainly come a looong way !! looks great and thanks for the photos. Out of curiosity which of the dealers did you pick it up from ?
  5. Some great AP love on this thread - lovely pieces thogaa, Mickey and everyone else ! Love my RG as well, just added a Volcano to my collection and already planning the next one!
  6. Thought I'd share a couple non watch related photos, with over 2000 I took - these are a veryyyyy small random collection Tuka-tuk-tuk From the country that gave the world Redbul.. here's Redbull extra ... i'll stick to the original one Street food at its finest Le Meridien Surawong road - very funky cool hotel The view from our bed at the Aleenta Beach Resort in Pranburi - a great place for honeymooners or those wishing to get away from it all
  7. Just got back home after an amazing week in BKK, although I didn't go there rep hunting it never hurts and was on the list along with a visit to Rajawongse for a couple hand made suits / shirts and eating atleast 4 meals a day of the amazing street food and after what seemed like a couple wasted trips to MBK and the markets and seeing only a couple nice pieces but was being quoted in excess of a $700-800 - couldn't even be bothered to start bargaining and just gave up. MBW / Nah Phiek as I mentioned above was a great store but not really for browsing. I knew Rolexfinder was based in BKK and sent him a PM just letting him know I was in town.. what can I say but the response kinda took me by surprise! First he offered to show me around MBK, which I passed on as I was too tried being dragged around the night markets by the Mrs - so he then went out of his way bought over a very nice collection of watches for me at my hotel he had borrowed from his suppliers... after going thru them and being not really that excited about anything - it must be the fact ive been in this hobby for too long as nothing really took my interest despite the great collection of watches in front of me including some MBW pieces (had this been 2006 I might have messed my pants). I finally saw something I liked in what seemed like a endless supply of great reps.. his personal Volcano ROO with a custom hornback strap (what a beauty!!) that he agreed to part with even seeing how much I wanted it, I then wanted a ROO rubberclad he had bought along from his suppliers but rather then try and push me to buy it he advised against it seeing as I already had a couple ROO's, not something many people would do. He also noticed a rubber was missing from my HBB big bang's pusher and emailed his supplier to try and sort me one.. followed by which arranged a full service for it at his watchsmith as well including fitting of a gen black eta date wheel.. this being my extreme beater (quad biking / airsofting / building sand castles etc ) I had almost resigned it to the bin seeing how battered it was and was looking on the forums for a replacement and thanks to him it now has a new lease of life. During all the watch talk with me, he was also helping the Mrs plan a trip around Thailand - giving her tips of which places to visit, where to shop to which restaurants to check out including a trip to Hua Hin and stop at the Mint May / Premium outlets on the way back (great deals on gen Abercrombie / Polo shirts btw! After we got back he took us out for lunch with his family followed by taking us shopping to JJ market - above and beyond needless to say! I have to say I was amazed at what a great genuine guy he really is and how much he helped make our trip a special one and thru no self interest other then helping a fellow 'Watchgeek' out who he only knew from the forums.. he also has some amazing contacts and nothing is too much for him to try and source or do, a great resource for this board most definitely and if there is something you can't source / finding, drop him a line and I am sure he will go out of his way to help you. So a big thanks to Rolexfinder / Paul - cheers mate really appreciate everything you did and of course if it hadn't been for this forum, wouldn't have gotten to make a great real-life friend as it were. Also a thank you to the posters here who inc Narikaa and neverworn for their MBK tips! BTW for those who haven't been there, Thailand is a must !!! First trip there for myself but will definitely be back shortly. I know, I know.. this thread is worthless without pics so here you are... some(about a quarter) of the reps Paul brought along.. MBK - these was the less busy times ! Be warned.. not one for the faint hearted
  8. Thanks Narikaa - shall pass by again and check it out with all the new info. Paul / Rolexfinder has very kindly agreed to show me around MBK as well which is appreciated !
  9. Im Bangkok at the moment.. Sadly like what the previous posters have said most of the stuff in there and elsewhere is rubbish - canal street quality.. even the swiss stuff allegedly is quartz being tried to pass off to us tourists. MBK/MBW/Nah Phiek does have the best stuff but he keeps them in his pockets and gets them out puts on a strap depending on what you want and you pretty much have to know what you are after as he is not somewhere you can just browse... a bit of a pain for someone like me who didn't actually come here to hunt down reps but just for a last minute holiday seeing what I can find Now off to Rajawongese to have a suit made... supposedly a must.. lets see!
  10. El Unclo - Great post, hows it doing over there at the moment you know with the Weather / political stuff? I woke up and felt like a chance of scenery so am off to BKK this weekend! Will see if I get time to hunt down some reps as will be with the mrs so doubt it but can't go there and not at least try
  11. LOL plaifender... please dont start
  12. Ah well, anyone else got theirs yet? How many people on here actually got one ? Makes me wonder if they didnt have that many to begin with... Still no update on another batch yet so I just ordered a white rubber / RG one instead for the summer and will have to wait patiently till one of you guys fed up with theirs or she manages to get some more
  13. Gold has really grown on me recently, maybe its the fact that everyone around me is wearing gold.. my old RG HBB was worn so little (once or twice in a year) that I ended giving it away to a friend which I dearly regret. Anyway... the FM in the first and the last picture... who from ? very nice ! Have the say the brushed RG looks very nice too not sure about the green gold but im sure it will grow on me. Just ordered the white / RG HBB w/o diamonds after seeing some of your photos, since the ceramic was out of stock but have pre-ordered that as well.
  14. I think I'm gonna have to pick one of these up, really loving the rubberclads at the moment. The RG hardly comes off my wrist despite having a big scratch on it
  15. Nothing yet mate, hopefully Mary manages to get some more.. dont think perhaps they were expecting the interest that sometimes gets generated by threads such as these. So in other words... YOURE TO BLAME!!
  16. Well since I wasn't one of the lucky ones to get in on the first batch of the second batch... if any of you feel like off loading theirs
  17. Thanks for taking the time for writing up this comparison review I'm sure it will come in v handy to those considering the Navy or any ROO for that matter
  18. Out of curiosity, you get the same one Mickey ? I imagine you might have asked for a few tweaks ?
  19. Cheers, will do. Gonna order one now in fact - just emailing to see if the regular dealers can get me the black bezel/black date wheel ones - will update once received.
  20. Thanks Mickey, I never actually realised these Hublots were now coming with the black date wheels until I saw this thread and your other Hublot sale thread- shows how much attention I pay! I really love the RG hublot and could never justify going for a gen hublot (or panerai) so will definitely have to pick one of these updated ones up!
  21. Thanks for finding out for us, looking forward to hearing how you get on !
  22. Dont recall seeing anyone posting with any issues, mine seems to be going strong
  23. Not afaik, well not one of the ultimate versions anyway
  24. Sadly the colour is off, the reps are slightly too yellowish but that is the same with with the AP. However its not something you jumps up at you on the wrist, just seems to highlighted more on photos because of the flash and the close up's. Overall best out of the box reps imho these HBB's.
  25. I was bored of wearing my AP ROO RG that I recently got since everyone seems to have a AP on their wrist and decided to go with one of my favourite reps, the HBB RG - recently I have cut down my rep collection quite drastically to just 3 watches and even that is going to go down to just 1 very soon.. the HBB. Just another night out and look what happened... I guess it says something about your boys if you all end up wearing the same watch without prior planning ! Trying to photograph one watch is difficult enough so forget about 3 together especially at night... apologies these aren't the best photos but you get the idea. The AP's might be fantastic but they dont even come close to how good the HBB rep's are. FYI these aren't all reps Well the HBB's do need to cruise in style..
