Seasons' Greetings and Ho Ho Ho from South Florida..
  3. Great job they did. My local guy never did such a great job. If that is a service box they gave you when the watch was returned, true class act. I see the new one is sans serif.. nice more moderns touch.
  4. Rolex2u.com looks like a sister site to watcheden but their prices are lower. I have done one transaction with them successfully and they return emails fast. I would rather deal with them compared to watcheden but all of the dealers here are trustworthy.
  5. Love that case. I have been thinking about an oysterquartz president for a wile.
  6. Not for $6k. It says 18k bu who knows. Their 18k could be like their 316L. I would rather see a low carat solid gold rep like the old two tone watches they used to make. They take a solid 3k core and wrap it with a 10k outside like gold filled jewelry. I have reps made like this that are 5 years old and still look brand new. Paul @ abay or womart used to call this solid 18k or 14k center links. Why not a whole watch or just do it in 9k? Half the price. Either way there is no more than 100 grams of gold in the watch and scrap price on that is about $2,600 today so with normal retail markup I can see a $6k price. many gens I could spend $6k on though.
  7. I see it on the website now. No price but I am guessing $4,000+++. The least they could do is make the top plate of the movement with the cotes de geneve to match the original.
  8. I don't think I have ever owned a white dress shirt. I wear blue or grey with a suit which I rarely wear and always have them dry cleaned. Most of my shirts are silk Tommy Bahama and Nat Nast short sleeve. These are considered dressy for Florida and always dry cleaned. You guys are way too formal.
  9. I have seen some AP dress watches in real gold but they used to be around $1,500. Now that gold is through the roof probably more. None of the sports watches would be available in solid gold as far as I know, but even if they were the cost would be far too high now that gold is over $1,100/Oz. The gold plating on the higher end reps is pretty good these days. Should last many years with proper care.
  10. GMT II or the new Deep sea. Both great reps. I have the GMTII and will have the deep sea shortly. Just nicer IMO to have a larger watch of a similar design
  11. What a couple of morons these Salahi's are. Not only did they crash a party at the white house, bu now it seems he tried to pay off a debt with a fake Patek Phillippe Sky Moon Tourbillon. THe debt was $2,000 and if this watch were genuine it would have been worth almost $1,000,000. No wonder he didn't put up too much of a fight when the court took it. I think we may have finally found Jetmid. Here are a couple of articles: Article one Article 2
  12. I've been in this game long enough to know that may never happen. I think they have gotten as close as they are gonna get.
  13. he two middle ones are gen, right? The america's cup and the one to the left of it? I really like the grey dial america's cup. They should rep that one.
  14. It is against the rules to have more than one account.............. Just kidding. Welcome back. The replica world has come a long way in the last few years. Read up and learn about all the new goodies.
  15. That watch is sold for around half price elsewhere. That tourbillon movement is used in other reps like Breguet as well. As far as complications go you can find many inexpensive reps with many complications. Vacheron Constantin calendar, Patek Phillippe sky moon and others. Check the rusted dealers here and stay away from the replicahause. BTW, can you show me this $7,000 dollar watch? Is it a replica you are talking about? I assume it is because you don't get a genuine watch with many complications for $7k. I gotta see what a $7,000 replica looks like. It better be better than a $5.00 milkshake for $7k.
  16. If it is a bit tight or loose one can adjust the rolesor clasp by bending it ever so slightly. bend the top part that is attached to the rolex coronet. Outward to loosen inward to tighten. Also if you slip your index finger under the bracelet and push the crown forward with your thumb while gently pulling on the bracelet it opens easier.
  17. No, no, no!!! This is exactly what you want to avoid. I don't want a list or reminder of how much money I blow. That is why I drink, to forget. The past is the past, the future may not come, all we have is the present. Lets move forward from here.
  18. I believe the proper term when talking about antiquities is patina.........
  19. I had this one, wore it to Costa Rica so I didn't damage or lose any good watches. I ended up giving it to a waiter...... The Daytona J12 Wait I actually wear this one sometimes.. This one is famous Bought on Canal St. And the best for last. The infamous Gaytona. The sad thing is this isn't far off from the real deal
  20. I bought my mom a gen Rolex a few years ago. I set it and wound it before I gave it to her. SHe didn't wear it for a couple of days and called me to say it stopped working. That concept is not easy to explain.
  21. The Omega's is a good idea. The connie reps are well made and you could always go with the double eagle for a bit of a larger watch.
  22. That is correct and if you already have a Datejust, the womens version of that may not be a bad idea.
