  1. am in USA/NY, but not in a hurray...pls pm me if you have a spare to sell... thanks...R
  2. I'm NOT selective about reality, i just buy every color...
  3. purdy watch!... better check that he didn't just spruce up one of his seikos...
  4. to my knowledge, the one above in Ubi's pix, is an NDTrading dial...widths of the vertical and horizontal lines are the same - which is slightly off from the gen... the one from J&W/Phong isn't bad either - but doesn't appear to be as crisp...and is pricey...this one, tho, does have the different widths of the vertical line and horizontal lines of the "T"...but the "SUBMARINER" is too large and spaced out... here's the J&W/Phong:
  5. i agree with you on the almondy shade...i had Z relume my 036 with this color... i also agree on the anthracite - the color is really sharp - at times, its charcoal, at other times, its dark chocolate or tobacco...i built a PAM 055 and went with FGD's stock lume color on both hands and dial...love it...
  6. hey Bill...thanks!... looks like this (with the "T"): (picture courtesy of Ubi -- justasgood's 5517)
  7. This is my 3000th post...holy crap! Time flies when you're having fun...
  8. its about right...check out the dealer section and shop around...
  9. @High...i don't think so...i just want to swap in a new dial on this rep to upgrade "its look"...
  10. gen on right...interesting differences in crowns...never noticed that before...the "windows" on the ship are present and crisp...and the bracelet finish is much crisper...and the cross is a tell... rep on left has eta dw...gen has in-house movement with its own dw... amazing replication, though... @calatrava - do you own the gen?...where did the gen come from?...$10k plus timepiece... thanks for sharing!
  11. am wanting to replace a yukiwatch 5517 "T" dial (the one that came in his pre-build 5517) with a better dial... have checked out the dials offered by Yuki, NDT and J&W/Phong...the J&W/Phong dial seems to have the better "T"...but many here seem to prefer the NDT dial... is there another source and/or any advice that you have regarding these dials, i'd appreciate it... also, would like to match a new set of sword hands to whatever dial i pickup so i don't have to re-lume...the hands would be mounted on a 2836-2 movement... thanks for any advice... may also condider the older Tudor rose dials as an alternative... thanks...R
  12. been awhile...so let's resurrect this thread...
  13. hey R...welcome back... been buried with life, too...so less time on RWG - but more money in my pocket!...
  14. congrats, LeG!... can't help on the answers to your questions...but of interest is, have you selected a watch to wear?...one of the many Samurais or something else special?... R-
  15. the v2 skyland is a terrific rep out of the box...the watch, while not gen, is nicely done...when you decide to franken one of these, you have to add the cost of the dial, re-lume of the hands and the work to disassemble/reassemble...oh - and to get it right, you will need to add in double AR...all in all, this could cost you $600usd or more...double the orig cost of the v2 skyland...pushing the total cost near $1,000usd...still cheaper than the gen pre-owned, but still a lot... all said and done, tho, if you realllllllly like the skyland, go for it...i have a v1 chrono avenger titanium with a gen blue dial, re-lumed hands and chieftang double AR...was it worth it to me...hell yeah...
  16. "the krpster" is THE resident expert on the Heritage...
  17. ummmmm...welcome to RWG... but seriously - please take a little time to use the search box to research a little...there are many posts that highlight the differences between v1, v2, v3 models...you can then decide what matters most to you...
  18. what A says... i also am fairly sure that any of the slow beat Navi cases work - either 6-9-12 or 6-9-12...other cases won't work... one of the experts on this is polexpete...search out his posts and you'll get a sense of it all...
  19. hey S!...cool find... definitely an ecletic mix of seiko, iwc cousteau, breitling superocean heritage... not sure i'm a fan of the tritium tubes, tho, but like the design mix on this one... thanks for sharing... R-
  20. why not buy the Series Speciale version of the Navi which already has a 6-9-12 configuration and a flush datewheel?... if you want to use a tri-compax dial/configuration dial - like the one in your post - you can use a 7750 and an eta 4.5 datewheel...that's what i did on my old skool tri-compax Navi - but i can't vouch for whether the newer model tri-compax have the right 4.5 alignment?... if your question is whether you can mod a rep tri-compax into the 6-9-12, i don't think its an easy task -- unless you have access to some rep movement parts... and if the question is more focused on the case - i know that you need an old skool tri-compax case to make an eta7750 franken...and this doesn't appear to be one... R-
  21. seems to be a mix of polished and matte pvd coating...or am i missing something?... agree with Importr - no issues with the movement on my Blackbird...
