  1. The "ideal" device IMO - is a fully capable PC with a separate phone and/or mp3 player that docks in a tablet sized footprint...the downside to a xoom is size and lack of phone...my HTC Incredible Droid is too big for me...too big for a phone and too small for a web/email device...remember the old motorola phones that were ultra-small?...the mp3 players that are ultra-small?...imagine if both could dock in a tablet footprint and detach when you need portability?...now that's the ultimate in "convergence"... I'm an ex-CIO and have an ultra-laptop, a ultra-tablet (xoom), a Droid, a Cowon iaudio mp3 player, etc...too many gadgets...the solution is "dockability", but that will never happen as no one is incentived to do so...
  2. Ummmm....ispytonyv...this isn't another Apple is better thread...to each his own.. As an fyi...I travel and move around a lot...and this tablet works for web and email access...and its fast, too...I don't need the marketplace of apple apps, so that world doesn't interest me...this will upgrade to 4g, support up to 32gb SD, and flash....for me, it works great...and saves me typing on a phone and/or booting up a laptop... 3. Excellent pix, TX... Have all 3 swiss fish...love em all--- R
  4. Monito...lets see some pix of the Gen dial...thanks...R
  5. Lol...I love Plai's nuclear beast... So...my Casio arrived...sweet...$160usd from the bay...light as a feather and only 11mm thick... Have it on a black zulu strap - which is perfect... Plan to sell the ti bracelet so my total cost will be a lot less...bracelet is ti, too and nice...but with the black bezel and darker ti case, this needs a black strap...
  6. Just picked up the new motorola xoom tablet from verizon wireless... So far, so good...very handy for remote email, browsing, etc...keyboard typing is great... Darn things should have bluetooth phone, too - but don't... Anyome else have one?...thoughts?!... R-
  7. man...that looks great D... gives me an idea for my old skool lemania/venus Chrono-matic (which doesn't have the date)... where did you source the plexi-crystal?...i like the way it looks in that piece... R
  8. really sharp, deniz!... thanks for sharing...R
  9. I just recently pick up my third ABC watch - Altimeter, Barometer, Compass... It's a CASIO PRG200T-7; i plan to wear it on either rubber or Zulu - but it comes with a titanium bracelet...i might also oxidize the bracelet to darken it up... Anyhow - this CASIO joins my my Tissot T-Touch (ti/orange strap) and Suunto Observer (ti)...both wear great and love em both!... Yes - i am an active guy - but not one who needs these functions...i own them for fun...and the T-Touch is by far one of the coolest watches... I will shoot a group pix soon, but here's some stock pix of the models i own... Soooooooo...if you have one, tell or show...if you don't have one, what do you think?!... 10. going to place an order for some 22mm and 24mm Nato/Zulu straps for various Breitlings, PAMs, etc... wondering if anyone has some pix to share of the Blacksteel on either a red or a black/red striped Nato/Zulu strap... thinking this would look cool...may just order one to see, but thought i'd ask if someone has this setup... thanks...R
  11. great writeup...thanks for sharing... actually - i don't have any issues with the Avenger(s) I have...unless someone pulls my arm up to their eyes - barely noticeable, IMO... as for the Steelfish, the usual dial is most obvious - but i've come to know that there's at least 3 different "swiss" cases, some with similar bezels...most noticeable on the case is the crown guard "flats" and shape...but on all 3 cases, the lugs horns are far too pointy...have always wondered why no one has tried to shave/round them like all the crazed Rollie members do with their Subs...i may add this mod to my list someday... R
  12. wow...this is the first Skyland gen dial i've seen or heard of...i have a few Avengers this would look nice with... @Sixx -- i have a gen blue dial Chrono Avenger franken... @Dave -- nice to see you around!... R-
  13. You're one of the best, Andy... Congrats...and glad to call you 'friend'... R-
  14. heyyyy...i'd be in for one or two - depending on cost... thanks...R
  15. hey Rodge...welcome!... as you can see from the other inmates in this horological asylum, you can't beat this place... a nugget of advice...keep a magnet handy for when those darn microscopic parts fly off your current project and you need to sweep the floor... R-
  16. sorry to hear the bad news...but sounds like you've got some nice credentials...and a good outlook! best of luck with your search... R-
  17. mine was done by Z and it's pure tritec c3 - grade A...which, i believe is accurate... R
  18. @Mick --> ok, i realize the dw is flush...but i have to tell ya, with the busy nature of the dial and just in general, it isn't sunk that much...no debate its sunken, but not that much... @andreww--> sure wish we had an option other than hiring out someone to create one for this rep dial...in the grand scheme of it all, it would be worth it if the 1-9 was rotated, too...so the best you can do is go eta...and that makes a really nice addition to this piece...glad i had Z do it...
  19. hey Mick... which Breitling date font disk are you referring to?...thought most rep or "reid" Breitling date fonts discs/datewheels were secs@3?...haven't ever seen a 4.5 one...the secs@3 datewheel has a different alignment and will not display right in a 4.5 date window... not sure if i'm missing anything here?!... R-
  20. hey A... totally agree with you, my friend!...these pieces aren't perfect, but they wear and look terrific...an absolute classic... figuring a breitling date wheel - especially a 4.5 - would be nearly impossible to find, i went with an eta...and as you can see, it makes a world of difference from the older rep one...worth a swap, for sure...the key is just to not wear this watch days 1-9...lol... i just went over to RG and read that thread...clueless people... R-
  21. please pass on a warm hello from me, as well... R-
  22. nice!...wear it well... these Skyland can be addictive...be forewarned... R-
  23. @divisible --> old skool model, long since discontinued and rare to find in the wild...haven't seen this version - sticks and/or arabic for sale in a very long time...added chieftang's double ar and an eta 4.5 datewheel...its a low beat a7750 movement, which actually lessens the sunken'ness of the datewheel in the window than the newer high beat a7750... i have a definite preference of arabic (numbered) dials over stick dials...and IMO, besides the Fighters Series Navis (brushed 6-9-12 models), this piece defines what the Breitling brand is all about... its one piece, i'll never part with it...its why i discovered RWG and this crazy world we play in...
