bah hum bug... c'mon guys...certainly more of you could engage with this one?!... -
woo hoo...Happy Birthday, Sixx! it's not the age the matters...it's the mileage!... R-

love this post...just love it... Hey A...hope all is well, my friend!... Say...Was there ever an arabic dial rep similar to the pix below of the TT on the right?...love the Navis with arabic dials...never, ever, ever part with my black dial arabic tri-compax...

ok, fellow RWGr's...let's have a little Holiday time fun, shall we... the theme of this utterly worthless post is to have some fun with Christmas "wants" that have a connection with RWG and its membership... Here's an example of how this post should work...please don't post that you want the ultimate/perfect Sub for Christmas...but rather, translate that "want" into i want 5 minutes alone in freddy's house to swipe one of his amazing pieces...let's get creative, ok...everyone is fair game... now - get it?!... enjoy and Happy Holidays!... edit: for our colleagues here who do not Celebrate Christmas, please feel free to join in the Holiday spirit this post was meant to capture... R- i'll launch this post with a couple: 1) What I want for Christmas is a queen's english to american english dictionary to understand half the stuff Pete says... 2) What I want for Christmas is to beat the good Doctor to a reasonably priced titanium PAM just once in my lifetime... 3) What I want for Christmas is access to Hike's porn collection...

or get a Breitling Blackbird and have Z blue lume it... go for uniqueness and not some cliche piece... i get more complements with my tricompax black arabic dial Navi with chieftang double ar and eta dw, than any other watch...but the Blackbird is sharp with its brushed look...

Hublot Ice Bang...something different...and with really nice construction and "textures"...

hi i'm hackR...i'm a watchaholic...welcome to the madness... when you tire of that Chronomat, please pm me...ooooops - sorry...fell off the wagon yet again...

ah...this illustrates why rep collecting has its benefits and value... i'm one who has a few rep fishes - each one setup on various natos, leather, rubber or steel bracelets...each has its own personality and style depending on the setup and my "mood"...a very versatile watch...not one you readily tire of...and i sure have a lot less tied up in my trinity of fish than B-T's colleague... isn't this kinda like collecting PAMs that all look alike...

hey Marty... sorry to hear that...holler if you need any job search advice and/or support... remain positive...many times these things have a way of working out for the better... R-

woo hoo...i figured it out... (with your guys' help, of course) the top pivot (pin) broke off in the jewel...i couldn't see it at first and i thought i checked the top pivot - but i guess i didn't...just ordered another escape wheel... any advice for getting the broken pivot out of the jewel?...
-
was thinking this same thought...hope to find the time tonight to try again... will advise...and thanks to both of you!... R-
-
yes...with the swiss version(s) i have...but as we've all come to know and learn, there are variations in swiss cases... the dial is 30.90mm in diameter...
-
agreed and understood... i inspected the escape wheel and the "pin" on the bottom is there - it's ever so small...i compared it to the eta technical doc pix and it appears to be fine... i did carfully remove the balance assembly - and that seemed to provide better access...i just find that there's a lot more play with the escape wheel - especially when the 3 other gears are set and the train bridge is on...i can move the escape gear around, but i can't seem to get it to stay in either jewel...i guess it must be just trial/error and patience... the movement didn't have any major issues running - so i expected the escape wheel to be fine...(i had to disassemble it because the hack lever needed to be reset... i hear ya on the weekend warrior watchsmithing...i recognize its not easy - but its fun to learn/play... taking it day by day and movement by movement... woo hoo... congrats, Gents...3 of RWG's finest... thanks for your service... R- -
thanks, Gents...dial is amazingly reflective... and how cool are the 4 lume markers on the rehaut!...

ok, ok...i'm taking a break.... trying to reinstall the damn train bridge and can't seem to get the escape wheel set in the jewels...i can easily get the other 3 gears set in their jewels...but the damn escape wheel seems to not sit well in the dial side jewel - with it having such a short pin...altho its tough to tell if the rotor side is in the jewel, too...i am checking it all out with a loop - but its hard to tell... the escape wheel seems to be a bit short - technically its not - as its eta...i inspected it and its fine...but when the other 3 gears are set and the train bridge plate is screwed in, i can still move the escape wheel shaft...the bottom pin of the escape wheel seems to slide around - and the top pin has plenty of play but it doesn't fall into the jewel... so question...should i remove the balance wheel assembly, set the train bridge and all the gears - and then put the balance wheel assembly back on...i'm thinking if i do so, that i will have more "room" to set the escape wheel... is this the right process?...or is there any tricks of the trade to align the escape wheel?... thanks...R
-
as always, you rock, Andy!... much thanks...R
-
Hey Andy...thanks... Do I manually move the lever, while letting the crown unwind? I assume the "remove next" on the screws is to remove the top bridge, right? R
-
Is there a simple way to do this?...instructions with or without pix are welcome... Need to do a teardown to replace hacking lever... Thx...R

I've been "somewhat" obsessed with Steelfish, of late - after a round of Avenger dial swap and franken creations... This piece started life as one of the early "ultimates" sold by Puretime and others, as referenced by our beloved Breitling comrade, By-Tor... The 1st release of these pieces came with nickel-plated gen eta 2836-2 movements, exceptional AR, Breitling-esque datefont and a nicely engraved and shaped case...The lume, tho, on this version of fish was weak - so i replaced the hands with other rep hands that were brighter; but the hands will need a re-lume, eventually, to match the lume of the gen black dial... What a difference a gen dial makes - it really captures the light and shines... Special thanks to Wei and Mike - for putting up with my steelfish learnings and obsessiveness...and to By-Tor, Dovo and countless others that shared fish tales so i could sort thru the myriad of steelfish variations out there... Some quick pix... Enjoy - R
