i own this piece - old skool PAM 000...and it's everything Z says...his application of the lume on this sausage dial is a work of art...and the glow is definitely more intense than standard lume... Try it...you'll like it...

Am modding up the old Fighter edition Navi...case and bracelet brushed...eta dw installed...but lost one of the small silver chrono hands...argh! Anyone have a spare and/or set?... Thanks...R
-
i would be completely disappointed with Mike if he didn't pop the hands and re-lume them... you're creating a special piece...Wei - be a lot more demanding with Mike!...i can coach you on how to get what you want - and moreoever what the watch deserves... I'm sure our friend krpster (and others) would agree with me... R-
-
looks great, guys!... any side-by-side shots?...would the rep dw work have worked with the gen dial?...how diff is the rep dw from the gen?... Wei - is Mike going to relume the hands to match the dial?...or did you pick up gen hands?... like the Zulu idea...i wear one on my Navi...i keep my SOH v2 on the black Ocean Racer... R-

Does anybody have a white v2 Skyland Dial to sell?
hackR replied to username here's topic in The Breitling Area
there is, however, a pretty nice white dial chrono avenger that is available from some dealers - it comes in an ss case and pro I bracelet...its the same case as the rare v1 titanium chrono avenger...this is a fantasy model - as the white dial chrono avenger only came in a titanium case - as did all the chrono avengers... here's mine...this is a piece that many overlook...the build quality is terrific - and better than the skyland v2, IMO...and i own all the skyland v2's... here's a link to one sold by Josh: white dial chrono avenger the white dial chrono avenger, does comes with a light blue tinted AR and a high beat a7750...the datewheel needs to be replaced tho...so if you drop in an eta or skyland date wheel, you end up with a pretty nice looking watch...the chrono avenger is similar in size to the skyland - not as big as the super avenger... -
nice Justin...wear it well and thanks for sharing...R

My Skyland (Grey V2) for your Evolution V3
hackR replied to kaotic4life's topic in The Breitling Area
and its not a v2...looks to be a v3...check out the "1"s on the bezel... also kinda looks black and not grey...but could be the lighting... either way - agree with A and Clv... -
you are the man, Pete...excellent info...
-
thanks, my friend...which pvd PAMs are pencil grey?... i'm doing a build with a nice older sausage dial that Z superlumed...not sure it will be accurate, but it should look good...

Just received the new 009 pvd case from Davidsen...amazing pvd coating - definitely gray...almost a dark pewter color... i shot some quick pix (with my Droid) of the case against my black dell laptop - in a well lit, natural light office with florescent lighting overhead...gives you a pretty good idea of the color... the case, crown, crown guard are top shelf...(and yes - i know that i need to tap the cg pin in!) enjoy...R

i now have to find some times to ready some shots of my modded Breitling collection... but here's the list in the meantime: 1) swiss steelfish, correct swiss case, breitling date font, gen black dial (still needs to get superlumed hands/pearl) 2) breilting tri-compax arabic black dial Navitimer v1 edition - chieftang double ar, eta 4.5 datewheel 3) blackbird - cheiftang double ar, The Zigmeister blue superlume 4) ti chrono avenger v1 - chieftang double ar, currently fitted with v2 grey dial skyland (for a different look with the ti case!) 5) ss chrono avenger v1 (fantasy) - chieftang double ar, gen blue chrono avenger dial 6) v2 black dial skyland - brushed ss case and bracelet 7) ss chrono avenger v1 (fantasy) - white chrono avenger dial with skyland breitling font datewheel (plan to brush the case/bracelet) planned mod: 6) old skool chronomatic destro handwind - planning to have the crystal double ar'd

QC pictures Breitling Avenger Skyland V3 Grey
hackR replied to Krister's topic in The Breitling Area
looks very good for a v3... personally, i own all skyland colors - and prefer the v2s, too...but haven't checked to see if the dealers carry them still or not... but don't worry, Kris - the v3 is a stunner and you'll enjoy it a lot... don't be afraid to also try the grey dial out on brown leather staps - this color makes the dial really pop...more so, than the black leather, IMO...i'd also pick up a diver pro black leather strap for it for sporty wearing... excellent review and shots, S!... i have the new 176 and love it...gotta love these base dials!

really nice, J...i always enjoy the pieces you build and the details you put into them... well done!...

hmmm...interesting topic... not sure i know where the hobby is for me - but do understand and agree with the points BT and others have made....i've been fortunate to be able to own and continue to own some really nice pieces...i do miss the fury of picking up and selling various pieces...especially the rarer ones...definitely a lot of uber-franken and high priced pieces shown, bought, sold...i do enjoy the mods that are shown/presented...but i long decided that i wear, build and mod pieces that i like - so replimanical accuracy isn't always high on my list...loved to follow Chrgod's best value pieces - but its only recently with the H-factory PAMs, have we seen watches in the under $250 range... not bored with the hobby yet...matter-of-fact, learning to fix/mod/build is keeping me busy...love the feeling when a piece comes together and actually works!... but many of you i consider friends and good acquaintances...the comaraderie is terrific and that's what keeps me here... cheers...R

my recently completed franken Tudor Chrono - after a year of collecting parts and such... special recognition to Justin, Andy, Randy, and many others for parts/advice/guidance...and to the Rolex forum for occassionally putting up with a Breitling guy!... and most importantly, to Mike for his patience and assembly skills - and his continued friendship/harrassment...

SOSF: Please help with decision on Steelfish purchase
hackR replied to Watchnuts's topic in The Breitling Area
What Rich says...adding that there are actually many combos of fish...not all cases are the same and dials can differ....the better cases are the ones with larger flat areas on the crown guard...some also have crystals that extend higher than the bezel - which is also wrong - yet not very noticeable...R -
here's one... welcome to RWG... one of the best quality PAM reps

hey Pete...well done...R

QC Pics of Skyland Avenger Blacksteel V2. Comments?
hackR replied to bolido2000's topic in The Breitling Area
i'd ask him for another...lume@3 is really noticeable...it would bother me knowing its there...so if it bothers you, ask him for another...it's ok to ask for another and note you want one with better lume dots... -
this is a terrific picture... wear it well... R-

OJ Simpson finds the real killer or killers . . .

its amazing that Oprah would be part of sensationalizing this confession...a mutual feeding of egos...she should have had the sense to advise him to confess to authorities and not be part of feeding his - and hers - self-absorbed egos... -
Hey I... terrific review... thanks!... but have to agree with Dave...this isn't my cup of tea, either... oh where, oh where, is that Breitling brand i love so much...lost at sea, i think... R
