got it, got it, don't got it... splendid taste, doc!...love my v1 chrono avenger and my v1 seawolf...both with aftemarket double ar and gen dials...wearing the chrono avenger on dark breown leather and the seawolf on its ti bracelet... tough to tell - but with a gen dial and the "taller" rep rehaut ring, the piece looks the deal! Black Friday...so why not buy a black/stealth watch?!
hackR replied to hackR's topic in General Discussion
thanks to you guys who commented...i thought this was a great deal for a nice looking stealth piece...sure its not a major brand...but seriously, its a nice looking value piece that i'll have fun wearing... with over a hundred post views - i'm surprised more haven't expressed an opinion...not that i personally care, but this is a case where i went "department store" and found - what i think - is a nice looking value piece...oh well... Happy Birthday, Marty....just turned 50 myself this year... Enjoy the trip...NYC is beautiful at Christmas time!... R

+1...which really led me to the question...a lot of ambiguity in pix due to angles...thought it would be centered, but needed to ask the experts!...thanks, guys...

a7750 only runs face down...solved - balance top jewel fell out...

woo hoo...the jewel holder is set right...just got in from raking leaves and such...and she's running fine...a bit fast - but nonetheless, it's working!... -
a7750 only runs face down...solved - balance top jewel fell out...
hackR replied to hackR's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
thanks, Mike... what's scary is that i was able to transplant a capstone from a broken a7750 to the movement i was working on...so far so good...have to ensure that the brass jewel retainer is set right and will hold up to movement/bangs/etc... -
hi guys... i just installed a new datewheel in a Breitling skyland...all went well...then re-installed the dial and hands - all went well...put it all back in the case, tightened it all up...it runs only face down...when i put in face up, it stops... any thoughts and/or steps to take to sort out why? thanks...R **************************** Argh...now i need to figure out next step...thinking i may need to send this one out... bummer...

normal - but a lot depends on size, weight...on smaller watches, i can go a little looser...but with heavier watches, it has to be 1 finger...never really tight...

What do ya think of this one?... Picked this up today at Macy's while my wife and daughter were shopping...with discounts/etc, i paid $70usd... For the money, it's a nice looking stealth piece that's solid...sure, it's quartz and such...but for the money, it's a good deal for a fun piece...nice weight/size/feel...hands and inner bezel markers are a light gray and are lumed - soft green'ish...Lighting in the pix show it slightly lighted - but in reality, it's a mute gray - giving the watch a real stealth look...only thing on it that is white is the date font on the black date wheel... Having seen a nice silicone strap on another black/stealth chrono Fossil watch, I called Fossil and ordered it - a black silicone strap with matching black tang buckle for $15usd... Wife grabbed it for a Christmas gift, so i can't take any pix...sorry... Pix from the web...in the bottom 3 pix, the crown is pulled out... Enjoy... Fossil AM4373 Specs: Water resistant 10 ATM/100 meters. Mineral Crystal Case Width: 43 mm Case Depth: 12 mm Black ion-plated stainless steel case and bracelet. Three-hand analog quartz movement with date display window. Matte Black-tone bezel. Black analog dial grey lumed hour markers Grey lumed hands Black metal band, 22mm wide near case, 22mm near buckle with fold over push button deployment clasp

Turkey Day 2011 - What's on your wrist today?
hackR replied to hiker01's topic in General Discussion
just noticed, J, that you brushed your case?! -
thanks, gents!... dumb follow-up question -- the cyclops is essentially centered over the date window - equally centered on all sides, right?...
-
thanks, Gents...i appreciate the assist!...working on a Breitling Navi Fighter and the hour counter runs - so i need to reset the lock... @R --> thanks...quickset cover and assembly?...still learning part names - but don't see these part names on the eta.ch/swisslab site... @Z --> yeah, i know...no matter how many pix and tutorials, it's still all in the technique and with patience and practice...many a spring has flown from my bench!...but i'm learning with each adventure...and yes - it's a low beat a7750...

Tudor Chronograph for the day...but wearing my black brushed Skyland Avenger for prep... -
thanks, guys... hey JK -- yes - sorry, stem arrived...fits perfectly...i owe you one...regarding the eta.ch/swisslab site, i've have that open on my tablet for reference...they do a complete disassembly - but it looked like you could remove the date platform in tact... @tx --> thanks...will do...are you referring to the hour counter wheel or hour counter lock?
-
i need to get under the date platform to reset the hour counter lock...i'm not completely sure, but i'm thinking i can remove the entire date platform without removing the datewheel and such, right? thanks...R

yup...i agree...its a v2...besides ByTor's pix of his v1, i've never seen a v1 for sale on rwg...a couple v2's - but very rare...
-
nice recap, A....i always forget about the stickers on the v1...i have a v2 like the one above, too...the v1 and v2 are low-beat...at least my v2 is...
-
Awesome story and pix...sorry to hear of your loss...
-
Need to see more pix...especially of the sliderule alignment...the dw looks about right for a v1...is the movement low beat?

Franken Super Avenger, brushed case, white dial
hackR replied to Crocodile's topic in The Breitling Area
one of my favorite Breitlings is the Blackbird...its brushed bracelet is one of the best...i am fortunate to own a "variety" of avengers, so i decided to brush one...case and bracelet, using a very fine grit sanding pad...it really presents the watch in a whole new light...less blingy for sure...but then again, i do enjoy wearing my avenger franken that is polished to the max...different looks are a good thing!... -
the date window location on the current rep tri-compax dials does not align with the date window on the a7753... moreover, the a7753 date window "location" is not the same as the eta7753's "location"...the a7750 is not just an a7750 3-6-9...search the Panerai forum for a7750 movement discussion(s)...
