love the white dial one, S...this is a terrific project...
case looks great...details?
hmmm...wearing my Blackbird today and it has seconds at 3 in a modded 7750...have you thought of that movement?...not sure what spec you need to fit the dial and case - the case looks to be a standard Navi case so a 7750 looks like it would fit...just a thought...

lol...jealous, i am, my friend...i just thought i'd state the obvious...if people weren't slightly "nuts" where would all the adventure and discoveries be...may god be with you - you'll be close enough to him up there!
the old skool Fighter (w/ low beat movement) doesn't have this plate...i just recently swapped in an eta dw - and will now swap in a skyland dw...and the dw is less sunken, too...
check out my friend, Importr's gen/rep comparison Fighter post and you'll see the difference...

excellent piece, Pete...i love my "ordinary" old skool 000 with Z's grade A tritec...
of all my PAMs i struggle most with what strap to put on the 000 - love the one you have on yours...
is the gen dial slightly matte in finish?...from the pix above, the dial seems to have some "texture" to it...dial macro shot?
excellent comparison...thanks for taking the time to post this...
also noticed that on the gen, the rehaut numbers/printing is larger and is closer to the crystal than the rep...
after speaking with bikmike, he suggested i try to lighten the hands...he recommended -- and it worked great -- that i use 70% rubbing alcohol to remove some of the iodine coloring...it worked great...will take some pix when i get a chance...

looks really great...you should consider brushing the case...
i am in the process of assembling the same one as yours...but with a skyland datewheel...where did you score a gen datewheel?...
thanks for sharing...wear it well...R
thanks, guys...i've read both of your various comments/advice on vintaging dials/hands...my hands came out slightly darker than the dial...after toasting, i sprayed with the clear matte varnish on the dial only without noticing the difference...i have to assume with the varnish i can no longer make them darker with iodine and i'm afraid to toast it some more - out of concern the dial printing will turn...any thoughts?...
(once again, sorry for the lack of pix - camera batteries dead)...i'll shoot some at some point)
Hey guys....I'm working on my first mod of vintaging a milsub dial...I have researched the various milsub models and am looking to rep the model that is more "orange" than the one that is more "creme"...i have used the iodine and toaster oven method, along with some matte spray clear varnish...so far, not so bad...sorry i don't have pix today as i only completed this last night...
my question is: do the hands "age" differently than the dial in general over the years?...are the hands typiclally darker/deeper in color than the dial lume or vice-versa?...i noticed last night that on the one i'm modding, the hands are slightly darker against the dial lume...so just wondering what's the typical age look of this model...its tough to gauge this with online pix...
thanks...R
if non-chrono preference, i'd go with a Colt or Steelfish...
if chrono - I agree with all above, you need to try them on, but most fit the diameter of your 6.5" wrist - but its more about the thickness you are comfortable with or not...many Breits are thick!....
hmmmmmmmmmm, Pete....
