  1. @M...yes - Tony - pleasure to work with...the movement runs amazingly accurate...with strong power reserve...any idea which "flavor" of asian movement this is? you are soo right on the strap and screws...i, too, was hoping i wasn't screwing up (pun intended) the screws....but it was worth it...the strap does compliment the piece well...but i'll be fearful to entertain switching between the strap and bracelet...argh...the fit, tho, on the strap is perfect... i need to check mine closely...never noticed the rough details...did notice its a tough piece to not pickup lint and such in between bezel and case... the starburst sheen of the dial is one of the best i've seen...lucky to have owned both old skool black/arabic and white VCOs...like the size of this one better...miss the caseback...a piece of art...
  2. M...terrific review and pix... nice to see i wasn't alone with the strap change! - as i, too, own the Deep Stream with both strap/deployment and bracelet...the strap is ULTRA-STIFF and a TOTAL pain in the [censored] to attach...i couldn't believe how much work it took...almost needed another set of hands...but once on, it looks great with it...problem is i like the bracelet, too...but knowing the difficulty in changing the strap will hold me back from changing it frequently...the watch looks great on the bracelet, but the strap really does compliment it best...strap is nice looking - but you really need to agressively bend/work it...there's still a slight gap on my 7.3" wrist - driven by the angle the strap attaches to the head... regarding the movement...wow!...as you said, the accuracy is very impressive...same as yours... the crystal is clear and does make the dial pop...it may have no ar, but i don't think it's needed...seldom is it obscured by light - and moreover, the dial's sunburst pattern overcomes any potential glare... all in all, a really sharp dressy sport watch...yes - with me, its sporty with the strap... may not be repliamaniacally perfect, but this is definitely one of the best looking reps out there - without a doubt in the top of all the gray dial watches... 3. nice review M...thanks...i still like my 252 for a PAM sub...classic... cool that you, Red and farmer got together for the shoot...
  4. i like it...i'm not a rose gold wearer - but i like the look of this one... enjoy it and wear it well!... R
  5. i agree with everyone's comments...date font looks a bit wonky, too... if anyone is interested in a pvd bracelet for their Blacksteel, this is a good one...i've researched this bracelet and the coating is dlc and the same color as the v2 blacksteel...just under $80usd... i've recently put a burgundy color nato with my Blacksteel...mine is modded with hands repainted by Z to match the rehaut...the color is a deep blood red - burgundy...i haven't had time for a pix, but trust me, the burgundy nato is hot...
  6. have a 113 dial for trade, too... preferably the older thinner markings dial...with matching hands if you have them... thanks...R
  7. i love to mix/match...some of my current favorites are custom mix/match...mounted one of the early/best sausage dials with c1 superlume into the newer DSN DLC case...love it...and have an older DSN 113 dial in one of the newer H factory titanium cases...awesome looking pieces...i need to take some pix... nice photog, too...thanks for sharing Z...
  8. these are pix from new member Shab...he's taken off his skyland bezel and provided me some pix of the bezel and its back...
  9. i broke the glass on my skyland and am wondering if someone knows how the pearl is constructed to replace it...and what suggestions you may have for replacing it... here's what i know...the pearl appears to be set in the rider tab from the outside/top of the bezel based on some pix i received from another member of the underside of the bezel...i have not attempted to take the bezel off...since the "glass" broke, i picked out the shards from the pearl socket...to my surprise, there's no fill of lume...i'm thinking that the glass is simply coated with lume from the underside, set in the bezel's recessed area and then the peal "ring" is applied over it...not sure, but that's my guess... any knowledge of the pearl construction and/or how to replace it would be welcome... figuring Z or others have re-lumed these pearls, so there has to be a simply way of it coming together...i don't want to try to pry the pearl "ring" off either...doing nothing until i understand it all... thanks...R
  10. who me?!...i know my limits...talking this over with Bike Mike...he has machining shtuff... to make this easy and repeatable, i think you need to go the wire route...thinking if a dw has the teeth cut off and then machined smooth, you could then trim the diameter down to the size needed to wrap a wire around...that would create the right shape and size...once the wire is formed, you could then more simply tack it on to a dw with superglue...
  11. excellent...the spacer ring has to be right on the edge of the bottom dw?...was looking for the distance of the gear edge and dw edge...which is a minimum of 0.33mm to fit the ring...but wondering how much space you have... i have a black and white dial arabic dial v1s that would greatly benefit...currently using 4.5 eta dw... R
  12. just saw this...awesome!... is the fishing line glued right to the edge of the dw?...how much space is there between the edge of the gear and the edge of the dw?... thinking krpster is on to something with wrapping 30 guage wire around an object the size of a dw...hmmm... @importr --> can you take a pix of the 6 o'clock dw and where it aligns in the date window when it flips over on its own?...i can't recall how off it is compared to using a 4.5 o'clock dw...i do like the 6 o'clock dw's alignment in the 4.5 date window...especially days 1-9! 13. i have the rep Slytech and its one of my favorite PAMs...this gen is amazing!
  14. looks like a Swatch watch on galactic steroids...
  15. hey J...yeah - was thinking that a plexi might work, too... today, i grabbed my old skool Omega Broad Arrow...it has a domed plexi on it and the diameter appears to be close to the one i need...the upper edge on the breitling is more straight, while the Omega is slightly angled...gonna see if i can find a plexi similar to the Omega...
  16. blah, blah, blah... blah, blah, blah 2.... Congrats, Stace...nice having you around!
  17. thanks for the link, Offshore...but i don't see this size and/or profile...i'll keep up the search...i have a similar crystal on my old skool handwind Chronomatic, but the crystal is larger than the Navi...
  18. the watch is a v1 old skool Navi Fighter, so the hand has to be for the low beat...but you never know...
  19. i was surprised, too...but from viewing with a loop, the eta7750 movements pinion does look wider in diameter than the chrono hand tube...i have tried to get the tube opening on the pinion, but it simply will not "bite" onto the top in order to press it on...the old a7750 low beat's other hands fit with no problem whatsoever...weird...the hand is packed up and will head to Mike for broaching...argh...
  20. nice...thanks for sharing... can i see a couple more pix of your tricompax breitling (the one with silver subdials at 3-6-9)...did the utc bracelet come with it?...which model is this?... nice Lange 1, too...
  21. This is the crystal i'm searching for...it's for a Breitling Navitimer Serie Speciale ("Fighter"), model A13330...i am modding an old skool version of the rep...i believe the gen has a cambered mineral crystal - but i'm open good with mineral, sapphire, plexi, etc...looking for the shape and correct size; material is second... Not sure what the name of this type of crystal is, so any info would be helpful...i'm searching the net for it now...if you know of crystal brands, crystal name/shape/type, sources, etc, please comment in this thread... For my Fighter project, i need a crystal that is approx 34.47mm in diameter and approx 1.07mm thick at the edge - the unfinished edge that is "hidden" in the case/gasket flush with the bezel...the 1.07mm is the edge thickness that is hidden in the case...the overall crystal is a lot thicker...the crystal is domed as you can see... thanks for any help and/or direction... R-
  22. hi guys... i am working on a Navitimer Fighter project using the old skool fighter rep with low beat 7750 movement...have just swapped all the hands over to the eta 7750 with no problems...but am having trouble with the large chrono hand fitting...been working under a loop, and the chrono hand's tube is fine...from my eye, the eta 7750 center post seems to be wider than than a7750 hand tube...it could just be my eye - but like i said, i am working under a magnified loop...anyways, wondering if there's any difference between the center posts on these two movements... any other advice would help...perhaps i just need to apply more pressure to get it on...but i'm having a helluva time getting the female opening on the hand tube on the movement post to even apply pressure... any help is appreciated... thx...R
  23. just picked up some St. James of London Founders Reserve Post-Shave Cologne Cedarwood & Clarysage from beautyhabit.com read that this is very close to Terre d' Hermes...while waiting for the St. James to arrive, i was finally able to smell tdh in edt version...very nice... so, yesterday the St. James arrives...it's really nice - and does smell similar to tdh...and it also lasts a long time...on me, it has lasted all day (12 hours)... and for those who haven't heard of St. James (which i certainly didn't), it's only $12usd for 50ml...yup, $12usd... trust me, its worth a try...
