  1. Mark - awesome...thanks for sharing this beuatiful restoration... what kind of xtal did you use?...
  2. i have the Deep Blue Daynight Ops T100 Flat Tubes Diver w/ PVD case...it's amazing detail and quality... I discovered them and was able to coax an owner to sell...on this particular model, they planned to make only 2000 pieces, but ended up making less than 500 - due to eta movement constraints and the cost to build...was expensive to buy pre-owned, but well worth it... here's a couple pix from the web i found of the model i own:
  3. love my gilt dial... 1) MBW dial from Bill... 2) gen eta movement from a beater 1680 red Sub... 3) gold hands from Clark; sanded to a matte finish... 4) case set and bracelet from Ephry73 5) domed crystal - plexi
  4. yikes...Breitlings, bloody Breitlings...i'm guilty of collecting more than one model... i own 7 Breitling Chrono or Skyland Avengers...why?...well - i have different colored dials and i mix/match the straps/bracelets...so depending on what look/feel I i want to wear, i always have something ready to wear... 1) ti Chrono Avenger with dark gray Skyland dial on chocolate brown strap 2) ss Chrono Avenger franken with gen blue Chrono Avenger dial on polished ss pro ii bracelet 3) ss Chrono Avenger with white dial on polished ss pro i bracelet 4) Skyland Avenger with gray dial on green/silver Maratac Zulu strap 5) Skyland Avenger with black dial on black diver pro rubber strap 6) Skyland Avenger, case brushed, with black dial on brushed ss pro ii bracelet 7) Skyland Avenger Code Yellow, on ocean racer deployment rubber strap 3 Navitimers... 1) old skool, black dial tri-compax arabic dial on black calf leather strap/deployment 2) old skool, white dial tri-compax arabic dial on tan/brown leather python strap/deployment 3) old skool, black dial Series Speciale Fighter edition, brushed ss case, brushed ss navitimer bracelet 2 Steelfish... 1) early release version, franken, with gen black dial on diver pro rubber strap 2) genuine blue dial with brushed ss bracelet (the real deal)
  5. the Great Oz has spoken.......... true that, A... R-
  6. that's a small wrist for an SOH... you can buy a rep ocean racer rubber strap with ss deployment buckle for around $80usd from our trusted dealers...with that, you can trim/cut the strap to fit your wrist...the strap is awesome and really sports out the watch - that said, i think the ocean racer, while sporty, looks great in formal/business occasions, too...the strap and deployment are awesome quality...other than that, you'd have to search out a strap maker and have something custom made for between $75-100+ usd... 7. no idea...but thought i'd weigh in on "hacking" versus "non-hacking"...obviously, i'd go with "hacking"...
  8. Not everyone checks out the sales forums...i posted this bracelet this weekend...one of the older models with nice quality/fit/finish... R- http://www.rwg.cc/topic/146516-fs-panerai-pam-ss-bracelet-polishedbrushed-pam-deployment/
  9. Not everyone checks out the sales forums...i posted this strap this weekend...check it out...an amazing strap that compliments a variety of Breit models... R- http://www.rwg.cc/to...acksteel-strap/

  11. gen...no question about it...
  12. thanks, B!...hope you're well...nice one - but too big for his wrist...will keep looking...
  13. @thanks, guys...unfortunately, the leadtime with yobokies won't work... @Nanuq...i did immediately think of your monster while posting this (one of those watches you can't forget) trying to avoid the rep scene...so i'll keep looking... R-
  14. that's why i believe more people die on the way down than up... @F --> why did the woman climbing with you call it quits?...
  15. Looking to pick up a lefty/destro diver/sport watch (auto or quartz) for my nephew who is graduating college...he has a kid's size wrist (thinking it's 6 1/2- 7", at most)...don't want it to be too huge, so 40mm is probably about right...a nice high quality seiko or other...has to have good fit/finish...not too thick; prefer a bracelet, too...ss or ti, will work...no pvd... He wears the watch on his right hand - as he's lefty...the uniqueness of a destro would be cool to him...gonna stroll around the net to see what i can find stock or modded...i need to pull the trigger on something in the next day or so... thanks for any advice suggestions...R
  16. beautious, S!...wear it well... not familiar with the gucci eta movement thang?...what's the story on this?...(I should search - yes, this i know)... btw - if you need to offset the cost of this one, keep me in mind should that new silver dial B franken you scored bores you...
  17. a fun post...thanks, Mark... i agree with w0lf...if you can pick up an eta 7750 for $225-$275usd when they come up (i picked up a couple in the Zeno deal and directly from Andy, too!), then sell your old a7750 for $50-75usd or so, you end up with a genuine eta7750 for a net cost that is less or darn close to a full service of an a7750... when a rep becomes a definite keeper (franken or not), i tend to go the eta upgrade route...yes - even they can be off in accuracy and quality, but i still feel its worth it... with all these "dealers" making 1-1 watches, using much better lume, etc - it sure would be nice if you had the option of a "serviced movement" for a reasonable add-on...assuming the dealer could "prove" the watch is clean, non-defective parts, assembled properly and is regulated right... 18. holy crap...i need to spend more time here lately...definitely will now... F - awesome sharing...an awesome adventure...sooooo - many questions...here's a couple: 1) did you pack and carry what you needed from the beginning to base camp...and more supplies/clothes/etc meets you at base camp?...2) how many miles is the hike from the beginning to base camp...3) batteries?...how many for the trek and/or how are you charging them for the camera...4) is your summit at the beginning, middle or end of the season? - doesn't appear to be that many climbers in your pix... thanks again, my friend...glad you're safe and sound...R
  19. really nice...i love this dial, too...had one, but sold it...the moats bothered me...oh well... nice swap and does look great...wear it well and thanks for the pix and story!
