As it turns out, the Asian 2892 was garbage even The Zigmeister could not repair it so I bought a gold plated Swiss ETA 2892 from Ofrei. Rob installed it for me and now a have a Porto for life...

Depends on the model. The black rep model ( 3563-05) has a white date wheel with black numbers. The black model 3563-02 ( have never seen it as a rep) has a black date wheel with white numbers and different hour markers.

I'll post some updated pics of the watch tomorrow. The ETA date wheel looks much nicer and the Roth strap kicks it in the ass! Even though it is a closed back watch, I know whats inside...28800 swiss ETA smooth as silk...

I recently purchased a 1:1 black faced IWC Portofino. It is a beautiful watch, unfortunately mine had a defective movement. I sent it to The Zigmeister for service and even he could not repair the Asian 2892. Rather than send it back to China, I purchased a new gold plated 2892 Swiss ETA movement from Ofrei and had Rob install it. I also snagged a genuine Daniel Roth black crocodile strap on eBay and installed the rep deployment on it. The movement and strap cost me more than the watch, but now I have a IWC Portofino that should last a lifetime.. Here is a quick photo of the movement.

Have your friend pick up a tube of Vanicream. It is available online for about 10 bucks. It is a hypoallergenic skin cream. Apply it to the wrist before wearing the watch. My wife has allergies and it works wonders for her.. It is light and odorless. For 10 bucks it's worth a shot..

Super Rep It looks good, it keeps good time, you like it, it was not confiscated by customs and arrived in less than 3 weeks. You have it serviced and it runs for 5 years. After all it's a rep, what more can you expect?...

Anyone have experience with Daniel Roth straps? Roth watches are very expensive so I would expect the straps to be of equal quality. I have never seen one and am wondering what level of quality to expect.

MY first rep, has to be at least 20 years old. I beat the hell out of this thing. it is OFFICIALL CERTIFIED so it came from the quality factory... It just sits in a drawer but I have to admit all I have to do is touch it and it begins to run...

Received a IWC black Portofino today from Mary at Watch International... Very classy looking dress watch, runs smooth. Now its off to The Zigmeister for service and a ETA date wheel change. When it returns I will upgrade the rep strap to a Di Modell black alligator. Mary is great to deal with!!
