why are you bumping this?
FXRANDY has just answered your question.
-
haha R11co.... we sure know our Omegas.... =)
you can secure the rachet using 2 part epoxy. than the bezel just snaps on and thus has 120 clicks, not your usual replica 60 clicks.
I wouldnt be too concern about the bezel actually - you may want to upgrade the crown/tube to genuine though - definitely the weakest part of the replica.

again 2manywatches, how about some pics to show us the bad job of lume (which you now have clarified that it is not), and how about pictures of your friend's gen & your 196.
The Zigmeister did my 196 as well. great job. but I'd like to see the RBJ lume job also.....how about pictures of those as well?
don't hold your breathe on seeing the pictures... most ppl on this board already agreed to the right color of the lume....further shooting down his argument.
as far as i'm concerned, case closed on this one with The Zigmeister.

@ Rob
Actually, the genuine bezel and insert actually fits the older SMP models - which is the same one that the OP has shown us.
I have fitted it on my old SMP with no problem - you just need to secure the ratchet on the case, the bezel actually snaps right on.
-
well when the Advertisement says "Aftermarket", well you know that its not genuine.
Unless an ad says "genuine omega bezel/insert", the other ones are all aftermarket, especially when they say "FOR Omega seamaster"
-
well its just not genuine.
look at this bezel insert - see how the pearl is much smaller?
$20 euro is a little too cheap for it to be genuine too.
-
bezel insert is not genuine.

@ crystal cranium
take it easy on him mate.
He's not the only one on this board who doesn't follow up or follow through. Let Rob and him settle it.

As much as I love to encourage people to DIY - I feel that more often than not, people get a little too adventurous...
good luck with it.

Unfortunately I am a fair way north so I cant point you in the direction of someone in SA and while I enjoy servicing/modding my watches I dont work on other peoples pieces.
Have you tried a local independent watch maker? I found a guy near me who had no problem with reps and even had his father(retired watchmaker) make a left handed spring for my speedy!
If Marrickvilleboy had not moved to the US of A he could have probably helped you out? perhaps he will be home soon?
thanks for the intro bazz,
I'm not sure whether you want to send your watch my direction (sydney) but i will be happy to help out when i return in May.

... for one to leave the cold & damp Northwest

lol
sight isn't as good as it use to be.
sorry about that.

@ randy
I don't think urs is EL case
EL case has 8 digit serial number just below the constellation logo on the backcase.
BTW- the ones that i have seen are all copy 2892s.

yes the XXL does have mineral crystal - or whatever it is. But it is still a great watch!

Let me put in my imput into this topic.
From my experience in working on movements, here are the results:
ETA movement - when you wind the watch (clockwise or upwards) you should feel resistence. If you wind the crown anti-clockwise or downwards, you should hear continuous click - and there should be a little, very little resistence - but NOT spin freely.
I would assume the ETA clone (not the cheap asian copy) should display similar results.
The asian movements, from what I remmeber, if wind anti-clockwise or downwards, should spin freely - most often silently - no clicks. Unfortunately, I don't have any asian movements with me so I can't tell you accurately - but I remember all of my Seiko watches, when wind anti-clockwise, spun freely - no clicks.

I hope you're not blaming joshua for any of this.......
not being able to pop the bezel...helium release valve lost....missing 3 o clock marker (which most people already know about)....screws in bracelet....misaligned bezel........ not really the dealer's fault is it?
good luck getting it all together
-
they are awesome!
I will have to make some one day when i have some time. But it would be really cool if they actually wind and run during the day. Only thing is it won't run for long as I'm sure i'll bump it and damage the oscillator and balance lol

It must be a "guy thing" that we don't get... watched the movie over the weekend with my wife and she couldn't shut up about his face, his hair, his perfect body... She specifically said that none of the other Bond's had the kind of appeal that Craig did. I guess the question of who is more attractive remains with the ladies... ...or the gays
enough said huh.....
you're right - only ladies can truly answer these questions.
-
is it just me...or you guys also agree that this new bond is not as attractive as the previous bonds? as well as shorter in height too?
Hate to sound gay...but brosnan, connery, moore and dalton had alot more flair and was more attractive ....by quite a bit in my books too.

I was under the impression that the original had ETA-2892.
