  1. I love the national day of norway. I just finished taking down the party decorations. :)

I was watching the big game and didnt know until late yesterday :(

Someone please introduce me to a sexy blonde Scandinavian woman so I can recreate yesterday with authenticity. :Jumpy:

  2. How in the hell do you figure that. Did the last commercial airliner you flew on not level out? Your suggesting that something else could fly like that (in the short frame of the film) but not a plane? So anxious to hear the bs answer.

    I've seen the video.

I think what he meant was the trajectory was too low as the object/plane (unclear in the pictures) was flying in at tree-top/below radar level.

On some level, you have to admire an amateur pilot with little real training able to fly in a commercial airliner with such skill. I doubt (m)any commercial pilots with similar training could have pulled it off.

Amazing really. If that pilot had contributed to the world in a different way... maybe he could have been a stunt pilot or something.

With the skill, I mean flying it so flat and low to the ground that it would have brushed the tree tops. That is amazing really. And it must have been for some stretch as well, you can't dive down at a 45 degree angle and suddenly flatten out, especially as they had just trained in Cessna's on little poxy private training courses. The margin for error is zero. Just amazing.

  4. Please be aware. RWG database has been handed over to the authorities.

Authorities are monitoring many US based replica websites. My new site caused me many legal problems that I am still paying for.

Only problems could be for US based members who have sold a watch and a record still exists in the database of the transaction. I hope this will not happen.

Be aware. RWI also US based and monitored.

Sorry friend, but can not tell more. Not allowed to.

The "authorities" could employ someone to read posts and to imitate Blade, or coerce Blade himself to co-operate in a plea-bargain or something.

Second thing, is it possible to get a copy of the database and transfer old posts here?

  5. Its 17 of May the National day of Norway...I come home and then I find that I can again log on as gran over on old RWG :) (but not as persona)

Seems like the crasy axe swinging moderator gran is back on the jobb :p at least for today

Lets see what will transpire...seems as if old RWG will be a reference site only in the future...members will no longer be able to post there according to BLADE

    Regards

    gran :)

    So blade really is back?

  6. Looks like you guys don't have the answer either.

I'm not new to RWG but had to recreate my account in the new site - anyway I've done some research already.

Just check out http://www.replicacenter.com and you'll have a completely different view point.

And in a sense they are right : one cannot expect a really high quality replica at 200$.

If anybody is able to help, that is to explain the difference between Replica Center and RWG, thanks in advance.

replicacentre is a scam set up to recommend sites that they own and brand almost everything a scam. That way other scam sites lose business, and any "good" sites they hear of can be labelled a scam.

Why pay $1000 for junk when u can pay around double that for a used R*l*x?

Do some research and find out about replicacenter... why would u believe them to be honest?

Why believe anyone in this "business" to be honest?

You have to make up your mind, and if you believe the spiel of replicacenter and want to go with their recommendations, that's your decision and your loss.

  7. Haha thats some funny stuff, yea I guess I wake up and lie to myself every morning. Just today I convinced myself I was a millionare but that damn Amex just didnt go thru for that lambo purchase ;)

Doesn't matter if you tell others that you are wearing a rep or not, simply by wearing a rep on yoru wrist you are making a statement about yourself and like it or not people do notice what a person has on his wrist and if you believe otherwise then you are fooling nobody but yourself. The reason the watch you are wearing is "sweet ass looking" is because its a replica of a expensive model so like it or not you are lying to the world even if you dont intend on.

Hardly anyone notices what I'm wearing.... so it is therefore more for self-satisfaction than showing it off as it once was - because no one looks or cares!

  8. u guys make good points. I also have a Omega GMT and yes, the hour hand can be set which jumps hour at a time. But i have something that i've wanting to ask for so long, and this topic seems about right to do so...hehe

ok, you all have stated that the 2893 has the GMT hand which jumps a hour at a time when we set it. Can we not just make the hour hand sit on the "GMT wheel" and have the GMT hand sit on the "Hour wheel"? obviously we need to re-adjust the hand size for both but wouldn't that technically get rid of this little issue?

Because this way, wouldnt the hour hand be adjustable now? and it will jump hour at a time? and since the hour wheel and GMT wheel all run in sync when not in setting mode, that should solve it shouldn't it?

Didn't notice this before, but this hand swap wouldn't work. All it would do is make the GMT hand act as an hour hand, and the hour hand would then be in position to act as a 24 hour hand. It would still revolve around 24 hours instead of 12 hours as the genuine Omega GMT.

The genuine Omega GMT does not use an ETA 2893 movement, it is an in-house mostly Omega movement, probably a very heavily modified ETA ebauche. This one has independently adjustable hour hand, backwards and forwards. There is no quick set, and a full 24 hours (from 12 o'clock) has to be clicked round to advance the date by one day. I know you're putting in genuine parts to your GMT watch. No idea how much everything is costing you, but a second hand one in great condition is around USD1000 at most, fair condition you may get one for USD700-800 on eBay. Timezone's sales corner is worth taking a look at if you go that route.

Back to the 2893, the 2nd crown position will allow advancing of the 24 hour hand in one direction only. Turning the crown in the opposite direction will advance the date.

    Hope this helps anyone interested.

  9. Nevertheless, he should make an effort to communicate with people whose watches are in his possession and give them some idea of where they stand. If the board administrators can communicate this to him, it would be very helpful. :)

Maybe someone who has regular phone contact with him, or one of the mods from the other board would be able to find out. I've never dialled his number, and it would be rude of me to do so, especially in this instance.

Hope everything will be made clear, and everyone knows what they let themselves in for next time, so they don't feel ripped off.

  10. Shouldn't be too difficult as it's the usual Panerai tactic (scam?) to just make minor changes and put it out as a whole brand new watch while possibly discontinuing the previous model.

Not sure if the old cases are still available for manufacture of these new 250s and 251s though ...

  11. Complaining that Joe is a scammer because he charges $40 to clean your dial just doesn't make sense. You could argue that is a reasonable charge if that was the only thing he was doing to your watch.

True, if that's just for opening up the watch and cleaning the dial of dust that was there when it arrived... not so good if it's an excess charge on say a crystal repress or re-lume, where the crystal would be removed in any case.

I'm not sure how the charge works, but it doesn't look good as a separate charge.

I'm pretty sure The Zigmeister does it as a matter of course when opening up a watch, as well as re-greasing o-rings, all as a matter of courtesy with no extra charge.

  12. I remember some of the misgivings were (some already mentioned),

-blowing dust off the dial (some of which may have come from work carried out, I'm not sure)

-repressing crystal (should be normal practice if a watch dial has been worked on, or serviced)

-lubricating o-rings (another given when the watch is opened up)

-re-alignment of date wheel (no info given on how this was done)

I think they were some of the things, although some were happy to pay for it so I guess you do what you will with your money.

I can't believe I'm quoting myself, but the last comment is not about me, I have never had mods done... yet. And would look closer to home in the EU first. At the moment it's PAMs so finepics is the man for that. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Movement servicing has to be The Zigmeister in my opinion.

  13. You don;t have to buy the full watch.. just the case ;)

I think the biggest problem with the 195 is that the genuine 195 has the owner's name engraved on the back. I guess you could take it to an engraver's if you really wanted to.
