  1. The go to was the Noob SSD V2. It seems production has stopped on them and dealers have no more stock, hence Jackjo isn't doing them anymore. Best bet is to keep your eye out for a used one and then send it to Jackjo for his touches.
  2. Has anyone tried the Clark pearl mentioned above? $17 shipped is nicer than $30 shipped for a tiny spec of plastic.
  3. Thanks guys! I wasn't worried about the member at all. Just wanted to confirm it as an MBW before I order a Clarks Superdome, Gen Crown, Get it serviced, etc. The fact that it's an "older" one as you state is key! Thanks Again!
  4. Just picked this up from a board member and want to confirm it's an MBW before I go dropping money into it to fix and modify it. The one thing that has me unsure is the case number. It's case 5790192, which is not the usual numbers for the 1665's and a quick search on the various boards couldn't bring anything up. Anyone know? Any other ways to quickly confirm? Thanks!
  5. I believe I have read that the newer MBW's do not accept the Gen parts as well as the older ones did. If you're going Franken you may want to look into that before ordering from Eurotimez which I believe are the "newer" ones. The older ones pop up on here occasionally and typically go for a pretty penny. Keep your eye out in the for sale section, I may be listing my older MBW 1665 with Gen Superdome, Gen crown & tube, drilled lugs, and aged insert.
  6. I'd say V5, Eurotimez carries it and Gio did a review on repgeek and RWI. Seems hands down the best to me.
  7. 3717 V3! I wear mine on the bracelet and sometimes a 22mm handmade pilot strap. Slevin is also a nice choice.
  8. V2 Grey. Most watches are black, the grey is so slight that it's something just a little different. I love mine.
  9. FYI: I tried removing some scratched AR from a 3717 the other day. This just didn't work... I have some scratches I can see and uneven removal. I tried it by hand and with a dremel, using brasso and then trying mothers aluminum polish still didn't work. I have both green rouge (what Chieftang uses) and diamond polish in 6 & 1 microns coming to try and get the rest. I guess not all AR's are created equal.
  10. I'm still waiting on mine in the US and mine shipped 4/26
  11. I'm still waiting on my 2, he shipped on the 26th... I ordered them minutes after he announced they were available again. It's rough being on the other side of the world Maybe tomorrow!
  12. Welcome! Gen inserts snap in, however, your watch isn't a Gen so that may not be the case. If it doesnt, typically you want to use some tiny dabs of gorilla glue every couple mm's around the insert then let it sit for 2hrs or so to dry. Try looking up the Submariner Modding thread which has pics and more details. Zack
  13. NATO and Zulu straps are always a nice way to go. I love mine on my Grey Maratac NATO. Zack
  14. Love it! Just finished bleaching the insert on my MBW DRSD... But where is the mod list?
  15. Nice choice on the ROO and B&R, I've been thinking about picking up a rep of both myself. The SSD just seems a tad smaller in diameter. The crystal is different, I can't find the right words but let's just say I bought it and sold it 2 days later as it just didn't do anything for me. From pictures though i thought it would be perfect but in practice, no. The Sub/SD bracelets also, while true to the gen, feel cheap to me. My favorite rep I own is my Rolex GMT IIc, but it's the newer style bracelet and clasp(heavier) and also slightly larger in diameter than the SD. The DRSD is very nice and IMO much better than the SD. Inserts can be bleached easily, vintage pearls are cheap, etc... If you're a tad hesitant there are many modders around who know what they're doing as well. Plus it's something a bit different than your everyday, dime a dozen, Sub or SD. Just my 2 cents...
  16. Since the BKSD is still pre-order and several months away why not get the DRSD for now and see if that helps solidify your decision either way. A shameless plug but may be helpful, I have my un-modded MBW DRSD 1665 on Repgeek for sale now $275 shipped CONUS. (its the the VIP trader section) I've owned a SSD V2 and the MBW DRSD, personally I prefer the DRSD. The SD was a tad small to me in size and just didn't do it for me. BUT, anything looks good on a NATO...
  17. Just Gorgeous! I have an un-modded MBW DRSD coming and this is definitely an inspiration!
  18. I live just south of Boston and am in town M-F...
  19. Use this for reference... http://www.clockmaker.com.au/rolex_case_size.html
  20. Very Nice! Is this the Swiss or the $100 one? I'd love to hear a little review about it, I'm torn between his and spending more for the MBW.
