  1. A true piece of class, the watch is nice as well. Great piece, thanks for sharing, from an incredible member of this board whose constant dedication is a great lesson to always strive for excellence.
  2. Thanks for posting.. That thing is beautiful. If mine looks anything like that I am be very pleased...
  3. Thank you sir. I'm pretty sure I will. I am however feeling without as much information as usual. When I got all of y ap's it was after exhausted research. The 57 doesn't have much. I'm well aware of the usually flaws. The thickness the weight the date window but I was curious to hear thoughts on others. To me the dial looked good which is really what I was looking at
  4. Thanks I ordered a rubber strp I don't find the hornback a comfortable. I looked at his croc straps but had not seen any reviews of them. You like them?
  5. I'm curious other than the usual flaws what are your additional concerns? And are you speaking of Toros rep?
  6. Looks nice. I have one in coming. I want to get a hornback with stitching to match the numbers. I don't understand the green.
  7. Actually I got that strap from AB Brands.... I love it. We re in agreement on the color of the pushers. In this case it all matches which is all fine by me, even if it's off from the GEN. Question, who did you think could solve my rubber crown?
  8. So, after an exhaustive search to try and source a replacement rubber crown cover. I gave up. Such a bummer as I really love this watch and it is still going from a 2009 purchase. I decided instead of selling it for parts or tossing it or putting it in a drawer for good or worse yet, wearing it with a stripped crown. I decided to get creative. Now, before you bash me for my poor work. Let me tell you I am NO artist but only wanted to try and create a quick solution that let me wear this thing at least around the house without feeling it looked "so" awful. I went to a local art store and watched the paint to the blue on the pushers and painted the crown best I could with my shakey add hands and eyes. It's not great but considering my options it's fine for now..... now I am board and want a new watch!
  9. that looks pretty good but I want to wait for the other... Such a pretty watch and I can't wait to compare to my friends GEN.
  10. That is my RG RC rep the older version, still holds up as one of the best, also has no mods to it, although I want to get some I've been to lazy to part with it....
  11. First let me apologize for the photos, I am well aware they are not great, the lighting was terrible in the restaurant. I was at a dinner party last night and my buddy showed up with this on his wrist. So I geeked out and quickly took some shots. What a beauty this is. I would buy this from a TD in a heartbeat. When I looked it up, I couldn't believe the price tag. http://www.prestigetime.com/item/Audemars-Piguet/Royal-Oak-Offshore-Chronograph-44mm/26400so.oo.a002ca.01.html?utm_source=GBase&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=GBase&gclid=CMLegraImboCFYtxQgodMWkApw It is so light weight my RG RC felt like a rock. I haven't liked many of the selections that have come out in the last few years, reps that is. I never jumped on the diver bandwagon and most things are exactly what the TD's had in 2010 Think this gets made?
  12. Looks great. I wouldn't have thought the white would look so amazing. Pleasantly surprised, thanks for the photos.
  13. I spoke with my TD who had never seen this model. It's my absolute favorite. Please tell me where you ordered I would be most grateful.
  14. a little fun with my sons Christmas present. Plus an update to my NVAY who was missing a crown rubber.... I dressed it up but haven't solved the issue yet but got tired of keeping it in a drawer..
  15. I have not been able to. I am still awaiting a few options but that includes a gen which I'm told the threading wont fit. Thanks for looking into it. Here's a weird thought. What if I attempted to dye the black to blue. Sounds a bit dicey but I'm really at a loss here. I have this beautiful piece with the matching ap brands strap and I can't wear it with no rubber on the crow.
  16. Update on navy. I had lunch at a sushi counter in Los Angeles. Was wearing my rose gold ap. guy next to me says great watch and we start talking. Wouldn't you know he's a watch designer and worked on the ap rose gold. I was curious how this was going to play out so I said nothing. Not to trick him but to test the quality of the rep. He held it. He looked it up and down and handed it back. We continued our discussion and at the end of lunch we exchanged information. I had mentioned the navy crown stopper and he said, as I was expecting that I would have to send the watch in to ap. he then said it would take forever and he said he would attempt to acquire one for me. If that happens I wear seriously freak out. Secondly, how he didn't know right off the bat it was a rep is crazy. My Panda. I took a shot and I purchased a new movement locally a block from my house and I'm just waiting for it to arrive and be installed. Really interested to see if that little test works. The next thing in updating, I would like to put some lime and perhaps ar on my Rosé Gold Rubber Clad. Would love to find someone locally. I will update as I get more info on the movement and crown rubber.
  17. Sir, it has been a very long time it is so nice to see you still here, these pics are amazing. After my little hiatus I am back and wanting to do just this with both these watches. I love that you got the white face SS RC, it looks incredible. I had the black dial but it didn't make it this long. I want to get the white face and service it like this... lume and AR? I have some movement issues with my watches from way back when and it's time to fix them and get some new hardware. I would love to discuss further the great work that you had done. Hope all is well, again, happy to see you still here a few guys from those early days aren't around.
  18. This is the actually one sorry. My point is the dial and line do need to be done. I just never have. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/101504-my-roo-wake-up-call/?fromsearch=1
  19. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/99636-review-audemars-piguet-roo-rubberclad/page-2 Here's that post. Soooo long ago. Ha.
  20. I've been so lucky with my purchases and the amount of time they have lasted. So often I see guys who purchase and they die quickly. I was also taught early on to turn off the watch when not using it and as I have rotated my collection, I believe that's also what's helped five them longevity. However I have not sent out for modification. Now I am more and more interested to do so. Of my collection the panda is my everyday favorite. The SS RC did not get mods but should have. There's a post I made years ago describing a rep gen encounter I had and the crazy noticinle difference. Interesting enough the rise gold RC is a way better hold up side by side even without mod. Now I may want to get some AR but I don't feel like putting any more money in and then concern about the movement. They are expensive paperweights. But if this local smith is for real I believe I am in luck. What's your experience with mods and who have you used. In us?
  21. Very interesting. Yeah he knew the movement and had a source to order it from. I'm wondering if I should just send it to Joshua. I'm also very excited to hear there was an update and improvement. There are so many I want gonna have to narrow it down.
  22. Thanks for the info and taking the time to look into it. As far as the movement. Yeah it's amazing. I've had really good luck with all my watches except the SS RC. That died quick. All of my watches except my Hublot where part of the older batch. As for the navy it was my number one till the rubber wore off the crown. Today I wear my rosé gold RC the most. I'm not aware of a change in jewel upgrade in movement. I recently came back from a hiatus. That said. My silver theme is running slow. Joshua offered for me to send it. On a lark I thought I would try a local watch shop. They where aware of super reps. Ps. I said it was a movie prop and I needed it working for a scene. Ha. I live in Los Angeles after all. The watch maker reported he could replace the movement and install it for 295. Part of me wants to do it and be done with it. Sending to china is not ideal. But if there is a new movement like you say maybe I should send it.
  23. Agreed, on all fronts. I considered this but since the color isn't 100 anyway, the thought of it being off by just a little would make me crazy. I also couldn't find any other models that even had blue. I was one of the first people to get this watch, which is crazy that it still works and that this is the only issue I have had. You can find the thread and pictures here http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/118759-ap-roo-navy/#entry851887
  24. Thank you. I figured as much but wasn't sure about the GEN great advice, thank you
