I have serviced two of this movements and none of them had the Hairspring Problem. vaccum

I have ordered from this seller two times and he/she delivers. Quality is not the best but good. I guess this item is NOS. vaccum

Very good info here. I am not a metal expert but I have learned that when drilling hard metals like SS the best results are obtained when you run your drill at low speed, apply very little pressure and use cutting oil for lubrication and to keep temp low. This method will save your drill bits. Also at lower speed the bouncing will be reduced. Waiting for TJG report. vaccum

This are a few pics I took while servicing an ETA 6497-1 Movement in pieces Dial side balance spring jewel Spring off Jewel assy out Spring ans jewel assy side by side Removed jewel cap..notice how tiny is the jewel compared to the pallet stones I checked to see if it was oiled .....yes it was Then all parts went to the ultrasonic for cleaning and rinse Some reassemble pics Oiling Silicone grease applied to the seals Movement ready to be tested for rate and beat Now fully reassembled and lume shot Thanks for looking, vaccum
