Hi! I just noticed that one the screws on my 111 is a little bit messed up. So I´d like to know what´s the best source for replacement. Is it possible to use genuine screws and/or tubes on a rep PAM? Do they fit? Thanks!

I like the dial on this one. Nice printing and font, should be a little brighter. Maybe just the pic? The date wheel looks pretty bad misaligned. That should definitely be fixed. But then it would still hang to the left side of the window..... Other than that I think it´s pretty ok. Where did you get it? Price?

Maybe tomorrow I´ll also post a blurry pic of some watches, let you all guess if they´re gen or not and be laughing my ass off.... @ WT2004 Let it out if you have something to share about these. We´d all love to know.

Message From My Jeweler's Rolex Sales Rep
www_watch replied to crystalcranium's topic in The Rolex Area
Terrorism??? Really? And I thought it was Scientology..... Come on.... give me a break! -
He should have done this to a USD 800 PAM187 rep (oops.... ok... that would have been last week *LOL*) or a fully modded MBW Sea-Dweller...... then that would have been a statement. But working a horrible USD 25 fake with a hammer..... this is so lame. But look how they can´t keep their lips from his bum.... FANTASTIC.... I can´t exactly say who´s the asshat in this story? *LOL*
-
I thought it was gen until he said it isn´t. But I´m still feeling concerned about the bracelet..... it looks too good to me. If he wouldn´t say it´s a rep I would swear it´s genuine.

It´s definitely a part of the myth around Panerai. So why don´t have it in a rep.
-
Do you think so? At least since the G-series they come with the dots exactly like the pic. Only thing unusual with that watch is that it´s on a bracelet since they are IMO only available with strap. Micro-Adapter... maybe? Of course it could be the other way round and I´m totally wrong..... But then this would be the first rep with decent date mag AND date font AND bracelet.

Cyclops and date look very good. Most of all the bracelet. I also think this is gen.

@ TTK I think it´s great how you keep the members informed and up to date. Even if things are not turning out as expected. That´s a great customer service. Much better than staying quiet and waiting for something to happen while the buyers are getting crazy. Keep up the good work and all the best for the pending issues.

Just Curious... What Other Pam Models Do You Guys Want???
www_watch replied to trustywatchguy's topic in General Discussion
Mine would be the 087 too. But then there would still be the date and cyclops issue. Maybe we will see a high-end PAM087 rep being the first breaking that barrier? That would be awesome! -
I was the lucky guy today. I´ve been able to give a genuine 212 a really close look at the local golf club today. (Don´t get me wrong.... I´m not a member there. I work for the company that installed the alarm system and was there for the annual inspection ) A guy sitting at the bar was wearing a 212 and I asked him if I could have a look. He instantly passed me the watch... (wow.... maybe I should have just run away with it ) I didn´t have a rep 212 at hand nor do I own one. So I only can talk about what jumped to my eye in comparison with the pics I´ve seen of reps so far. The pushers have a finish that is more polished than the case but not that mirror polished look like for example the caseback. Something in between. Hard to describe. But the most impressive part of the watch is the backside. The finish on the movement is WAY WAY WAY beyond any rep so far. Also the "OFFICINE PANERAI" writing on the rotor is much smaller. And there are way more engravings on the metal part of the caseback than on the rep. (Yet don´t remember what it was in detail)

Crown guards on the Sub seem to be WAY off.

12 Year Old Boy Gets 1000 Euro Fine For Buying Fake Rolex
www_watch replied to chrgod's topic in The Rolex Area
I´m sure they knew it. If not they would have been more after a fancy swatch or G-Shock thing. But that´s another story. The Italians decided already some time ago to handle it that way. High fines, no mercy! They say it´s the only way to get hold of it. Maybe they´re right? Who knows? On the other hand.... I can´t imagine that the average teacher wouldn´t mention something like that BEFORE visiting a market place with his class in Italy. If they bought the watches despite being told not to (we´ll never find out) then if I was one of the (paying) parents would beat the hell out of them when they returned home. -
That may be exactly what he´s waiting for..... Make sure you´re wearing a 187 to knock him out.... just in case....

Things that happen when you´re infected with the thing called PAM FEVER!!!! Man.... as I wrote before, i figured out that the standard length strap is not really fitting well for me. I have a little over 7 3/4 inch wrist (not that big I would think) but don´t like the strap fastened too tight. So it´s max. on the second or third hole for me. But instead of waiting for the oversized strap I ordered on monday, I can´t resist wearing the watch everyday and prefer to fiddle around with that damn short strap everytime I put it on. This morning then the unevitable happened. I dropped the watch while putting it on..... Struck by the first shock, the time until it hit the floor seemed endless to me. Followed by a very hard and scary "PING", sounding like metal on metal as it hit the base of a lamp standing next to my bed. OMG...!!! It took me like half a minute before i could reach down and pick it up. Still under shock I inspected it thoroughly for dents, scratches or even broken parts. But guess what? Besides being fully functional there wasn´t any damage at all. I guess I´ve been on the lucky side this time. But from now on this little cutie will stay safely stored away in it´s box until the strap will be changed and won´t receive any further flying lessons.

Yep, I also noticed that thread there today. But I don´t know if a replica board is the right place to discuss copyright issues.....
-
Hmm... IMO it´s ok. And it is not THAT expensive either. I wanted a gen strap and that´s what I´ll get. I like the looks of it and the feel. I´m not really into these extra-thick straps. At least not for the 111. Maybe on a future 212....

That´s it! Exactly.

Pam111h, My First Panerai From Precious Time
www_watch replied to www_watch's topic in The Panerai Area
Warranty card is the "Certifidato" version.... Rest of the papers top notch. Send a PM to Precious Time for pricing details. He´ll respond very quickly. -
Paid a little visit to the local "High-End" dealer in my city today to buy a genuine oversized tan calf strap for my newly acquired 111H from Precious Time. A little bit "window shopping" to get started.... very exciting as always. They have simply everything from the big brands. Panerai, IWC, Rolex Patek, Omega, AP..... you name it. The windows are nicely decorated with very interesting watches. Planet Oceans in all versions. Normal size, 45mm, black, orange. GMT Master II black, red-black, Pepsi, YM´s in all the available sizes, Sea-Dweller, No-Date Sub and TT-Daytonas. Only two Panerais. A PAM125 Power Reserve and a PAM159 GMT. After I had seen enough, I went towards the entrance. Some "muscle man" in a fine black suit opened the door and I got in. One of the guys came up to me and asked what he could do for me. I told him what I wanted and he disappeared to see if they had the right thing in stock. I took a look around and thought by myself: "Wow.... smells like the big money in here...." After a few minutes - I had already taken a seat and was enjoying a nice cup of espresso that I was offered by a nice lady - he returned and unfortunately they only had the normal 115/75 sized straps in stock. "Of course we can order it for you. It won´t take long, normally 5-7 days" Hehe... the watch made it faster from PT to my place than this strap will..... After filling out the order form he asked if there would be anything else he could do. I said "yes, do you have anything from Panerai in 40mm size. I´m looking for something for my girlfriend" Man..... good luck that she wasn´t there with me.... otherwise this thing might have ended with me spending money like crazy... "Of course!" he said "I´ll be back in a minute" He came back with a PAM051, white dial and titanium/steel bracelet. This watch is so cute. It´s looking much smaller than a 44mm. But for a watch looking that small it´s heavy as hell.... Price tag: 4600 Euros. Okaaaaay..... I took a closer look at it. Very thin crown. If you have a 051 rep don´t care about the crown. It´s good as it is. Totally different story with the bracelet. I don´t think that the rep industry will ever manage to make a bracelet of that quality. Such a perfect, smooth finish yet built like a tank. Gorgeous! The date mag is also far beyond everything that can be found on reps. Big, bold and sharp. "Do you want to try it on? So you could see the difference to a 44mm model like the one you are wearing" he woke me up from my dream..... "No, thank you very much" I would have loved to but I didn´t dare to take my 111 off and have it on the table in front of him. Maybe he wouldn´t have noticed even then that it is a rep. But it was something else. I suddenly was feeling somewhat uncomfortable inside this shop. I thanked him, grabbed my order receipt and left. Back on the street I felt like an idiot..... "How can you go in there with a rep and let them show you watches for several grands...." There´s a world of replicas and a world of genuines. We love both of them, don´t we? I still want a really nice PO and a PAM212 rep. And I want to go on a nice summer vacation in august. But for christmas this year I´m gonna get me a genuine PAM. I want to take part in BOTH worlds.

Pam111h, My First Panerai From Precious Time
www_watch replied to www_watch's topic in The Panerai Area
I don´t think so... I just found out that the standard 115/75 strap is too short for me. So I´ll have to look for at least a 115/95 to replace it. -
Hi there! So that´s my first posting to show off a nice watch I´ve bought. It´s one of the few reps I have, besides an old ETA Sub and a 7750 Navitimer. Transaction with Precious Time was perfect. The watch arrived at my door on the 5th day after payment. I´m really satisfied with the quality of this one. Surface and polishing of the case is the best of all Panerai reps I´ve seen yet. It has a swiss Unitas movement with what I think is one of these non-working swan necks that we discussed before. So when you turn it around you get one hell of a "bling-bling" show from the very good finished movement. I´ve seen other display back PAM reps with the "H"-movt. that didn´t have a finish that shiny and clean and looked much more dull. The crown guard is brushed finish and fits 100% onto the case with no gaps at all. Also the lever is 100% flush with the crown guard and has a nice and high quality feel when opening and closing. The strap is normal quality, but will be changed anyway . The buckle is also finished very nice. It has lost 3 seconds after winding for the first time over the last 24 hours. And that´s "out of the box". I´m really impressed by this performance. What more can I say..... I love this watch! Here are some pics. The watch is impressive, my photographing skills not that much..... And it´s only an old 2MP Nikon. Comments are welcome!
