Today is my 1st year anniversary here in RWG 12 months have gone by since my first noob post ... What is impressive is that i found my way here through a GEN forum, and believe it or not buying my first reps led me to that GEN forum My history with watches does not go to far behind,i bought my first gen 2,5 years ago and i bought my first rep 5 months later.Like most of the average Joes out there i fell for the AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA+ SWISS GRADE SUPER REPS ,payed 500$ for an A7750 Navitimer. This was my first ever purchased rep.I got to say at first i was impressed,i never expected for a rep watch to be so nicely built...then i bought another and then another ...my first 3 purchases were at a total price of 1500$...(forgot to mention that my second purchase was a Daytona with secs @6 which of course failed me 2 times and cost me a two times trip back and forth to my dealer, little did i know back then about the 11 gears modified movement!!!).After that i found another dealer with better prices and standard rep quality...yet another round of back and forth trips for some of my reps, but i was already getting the habit of it and came to relize that patience is rule and virtue No1 in this game. This was my first year in the rep world,i consider it to be a hard training year, learned a lot through trial and error... Then RWG came into my life...i first learned about RWG in a GEN forum,i won't get into details here. In my fist year in here i've learned a lot...i've learned more about horology and watches than i could ever possibly imagine i could in a rep forum.I've learned that reps are not what most of the average people think they are,i've learned that a rep will still be a rep and a gen will always be a gen no matter what and these roles cannot be changed but little difference does this make to me.A rep might still be a rep but the important thing with this is that we can work on a rep to make it better and more powerfull ...we cannot do that with a gen so there is no fun in buying one!!! Besides the knowledge the most important thing i found in here is the support i needed to back this knowledge up and make my reps better.I have no watchmaking skills...but other do,and they are here for me to back me up and help me with my quest. They have serviced my reps, they have helped me make them look better and more gen like, they have been there to provide me with all the answers, tools and parts sources i needed...they have been there for me and this is what really counts in a family.I have made good friends and had a lot of fun pm's and conversations in the threads. I could go on on for hours talking about you guys (and i mean all RWG members!!!) but i bet you have other jobs to do rather than reading a ten miles long post But i would like to personally thank Ubi,Demonslayer,By-Tor,Omega,Domenico,The Zigmeister,Concepta and CT for their help in modifing my watches and sourcing parts,Lanikai for being an inspiration to us all,Col for what he did regarding the Australian fires raffle and all his effort to keep this alive and running ,BK for his exceptional watches and services and of course the Admin team for keeping everything in order!!! There are many more members here i would like to thank but the list is endless!!!A HUGE THANK YOU TO YA ALL GUYS,YOU ARE THE ELITE OUT THERE John

Breitling Chrono-matic,SOH,IWC TG group-wrist shots!

Well Rob i can confirm that those two Breits do have a light blue hue indeed,in fact i have seen high end reps with a similar blue tint on the crystal and unless someone tells ya that it is a rep AR you will never be able to tell.To be honest i expected the AR on those Breits to be more CT alike. But i guess not even Breitling is able to beat the AR GURU!!! On the other hand the quality of those gens is unquestionable. The Chrono-matic is a trully magnificent timepiece my friend,on the other hand the SOH is a big watch but for some reason i have no interest in this watch. Both pieces belong to two of my office colleagues,i will try to get the Crono-matic in my hands for a more thorough review and photo shooting. -

Thanks Rob,somehow i knew you were going to like that!!! Seems than in the company i work for there are more watch afficionados in other departments than meets the eye!!! I wish i had the time and a better camera to take more high res photos But i got to say this Chrono-matic is one heck of a watch my friend It is rather heavier than i expected and a whole lotta bigger, but it is so well balanced fits so sweeeet on the wrist...an extraordinary timepiece for sure. BTW the AR on those watches seems to be one step behind CT's AR -

I got to say TD this watch is BIG and heavy but soooooo well built, the rubber strap is so nicely balanced, the whole watch sits on the wrist very nicely.I have a 7" wrist btw. If you are not into big watches then maybe this one isn't for you but then again you won't know until it sits on your wrist For me the watch size is perfect since i like big watches. TBH i liked it more than the SOH. -
Some shots taken today in my office!!!I know hackR and Adreww are going to love those!!! Thanks for looking guys

Outer bezel numbers sit to low on the bezel,24 hour!!!indicator @3,BENTELY MOTORS caseback,SWITZA...WHAT???!!! And the fact that the dw is not sunken...seems like another cheap quartz rep.

Well maybe i am wrong due to the quality of the pics but seems to me that the hour markers and then hands are those of a 16610(thin rings and hands).Maybe i am wrong though... Also his English syntax is

OMG...From how many angles do they have to look at this one in order to figure out if this is a fake or a gen? http://www.tz-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=100477&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=75 and this?!!! http://www.tz-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=100477&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=90

There is your answer!!!this is not a REAL ROLEX,never forget that All rep daytonas with secs @ 6 have the "jumping" seconds hand issue (amongst others that is ) you will not find any with a smooth sweeping motion. Eta movements have the sweeping smooth motion identical to a Rolex movement since eta movement ticks 5 times/sec,rolex movements 8 times/sec,so there is on visble difference to the naked eye.But the Daytona rep uses the 7750 asian chrono heavily modified with 11 more gears in order to resemble the movement of the 4130 of the gen and this bring up a lot of problems(jumping second hand is the least of them).A 7750 is a copy of the ETA 7750 with a 6-9-12 tri-compax as opposed to the Rolex 4130 which has a 3-6-9 tri compax subdials. I had to find that out the hard way myself as well before entering the RWG family, since i was also was looking for the same thing as you. I would suggest you stay away from Daytona reps with running secs @ 6. That's my 0.02$ John P.S Welcome to RWG,stay tuned,do your research, ask your questions, gain knowledge, make friends and save yourself a lot of money

Great info Lani I think this should be pinned since it contains sources we all need or going to in the future J.

665 FIFTH AVENUE???Is Rolex NY really the neighbor of the beast???
-
Ros wore his gen in order to protect his replica 16710!!!i mean...that's what we all RWG members would do... wouldn't we??? I bet he is glad he did that!!! Great work Niko!!!
-
Breitling Datora has the same complications except the moonphase,so i will also add this one to the list as well
-
I think this is the best replication ever for one main reason which is non other than the ability to accept the most important parts(bezel, insert, crystal even a gen 3135!!!)straight on without any kind of modds I have already placed an order!!! (thanks BK,you know why!!!)
