  2. Thanks for your answers Rob,Andy,Alan The watch belongs to a friend and he has already sent it to his AD for a proper investigation.I posted this cause i found the behaviour of the watch very strange and the two symptoms are indeed not connected. My friend swears that all he did was to turn the crown and screw it in place. I have no further info since i first posted this thread, but i will definitely let you know about the cause of this when my friend gets the watch back. BTW Rob the EXP II is now working great, hairspring was stuck indeed and also the rotor place was off place!!!so much for the "HANDLE WITH CARE" procedures of the Postal Services!!! Thanks for your replies guys
  3. Hm....reps always leak.... guess what, after 20 minutes in the glass this rep is still working!!! but the glass is leaking as you can see!!!
  4. i would like your opinion regarding an issue on a genuine Longines (eta 2824) Seems that the seconds hand has stopped moving, the date cannot be changed by turning the crown but the watch keeps time and the hour and minute hands are moving correctly. Any ideas on the problem?to me seems like a keyless works problem but i might be wrong Thanks J

  11. I firstly posted this one on the PLATI members area but i thought i should share this one with the rest of the gang,we need as many memberships as we can to get this joint running the way it is.This is the best horological community in the net and i feel the urge to let everybody in here know. Just have been upgraded to Platinum guys,it was about time since RWG has given way to many good things, good friends is the 1st and best among them. I need to say that when i first came in here i had no idea how to open a single caseback...last Saturday i dismantled my 16570 and disassembled the 2836-2 ETA movement inside!!! Thanks, thanks THANKS!!!
  12. I got a generic insert coming from Watchmaterial.I will try it on and post some pics to see how it fits. On my SSD was looking spot on. I also placed an order for a Watchmaterial lume pearl.I will try first to replace the pearl. Insert on my v3 is looking grear BTW,except of course for the pearl. I will post some pics as soon as i get the insert.
  13. Ditto BTW R88 when i find a good source for the parts we talked in our pms i will let you know mate
  14. Good job Andy!!! I have just taken apart my 2836-2 and this is what i needed to put all the pieces back together!!! Thanks mate
  15. I will have to agree with Andy here...If you want precision and accuracy then go with the quartz option. On the other hand if you need precision and accuracy with an automatic watch then get a gen Rolex. COSC has set a -4/+6 a day for a reason...so if you think that your rep's gain at +10 is unaceptable then you should go with a quartz or a gen Rolex (ROLEX regulates its watches withint -/+ 1 or 2 secs).Precision and accuracy (at least in the way you want them) do not go along with reps, especially with the unserviced ones BTW if you try to mess with the regulator then you might just end up messing up the beat...be very carefull...
  16. This is one heck of a caseback opener guys. Opens a Rollie caseback in a sec without any kind of effort!!!i got one from O/S and i highly recomend it...especially at this price Oh and BTW 10secs+/day is not that bad
  17. Domenico e un magnifico orologiaio,e una persona molto gentile. Mille grazie amico mio J
  18. Just like i do not get what is all the fuzz about the PAM crownguards and the cannon pinions stuf!!! Well each clan, either its a Rollie clan or a PAM clan, has its "issues" me thinks!!! Just oil bathe the bracelet and cape cod it and you are good to go,at least this is what i did!!! Enjoy your Sub it is a truly stunning piece my friend. Cheers J
  19. I will have to agree with B-T.SS color difference is barely noticeable and meaningless. As for the SEL fit i think that in this V3 looks ok
