That is a terrific watch! I wore my 029B today with a newly installed Camille Fournet dark brown shark and the combination rocks. The 2893-2 makes this Pam one special piece of machinery. Awersome photos & thanks for sharing. Jet

I have all these nifty OEM 16610 parts (bezel, insert & washer) and was wondering if these could be successsfully installed in a TW best case (older model with side case holes). I understand that the bezel click mechanism of the TW is different from the one employed on the original. However, I am willing to sacrifice bezel rotation for a watch that is more accuate and with higher quality parts installed. I'm not sure if this transplant is possible but thought to ask before taking appart my trusty TW. I believe Cabbage and others might have tried this but I don't recall reading what the final outcome of the project was. Any and all suggestions are most welcomed. Thanks for your help! Jet.

This is an incredible thread gents. My compliments to all that have participated and will participate. To those that believe that we are a bunch of wackos for actively participating in this little hobby of ours, they should take the time and read through this and discover the true spirit, generosity and kindness of the members of our collective forums. I have been a member of other forums for some time and have never seen anything that remotely resembles what has been done here. Chris, you've done a marvelous job seeing this thru from beginning and now to the end. Many thanks for all your efforts! With Luckyyy now involved, the final result should be a darn nice one indeed. A safe Easter weekened to everyone. Cheers, Jet

Thanks for the info, The Zigmeister & Tribal. I have the dremel and correct SnapOn cobalt bits so I may give it a try. You guys make this sound like it's a simple surgery. Regards, Jet

That is one amazing knife, Bob. The workmaship of the handle is outstanding. I have never seen anything like it. I'm sure your son is certainly proud to own such a piece. That is one very, very fine gift. My congratulations to little Nanuq! My knife is a Harry Morseth creation who began manufacturing knives in the 1930s and thru 1971 when the company was purchased by AG Russell. Regards, Jet

Excellent work, Tribal. Apply a bit of varnish on the pearl with a tiny brush and it will look much better. Did you use a vise when drilling the side case holes or free hand? I wish I had a watch case that I didn't care about to practice with. I would enjoy doing this kind of work but practicing on a darn nice watch is a tough pill to swallow. Enjoy your new MBW! Regards, Jet

The only thing that comes to mind is Lucy's maiden name in "I Love Lucy" with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. I believe it is the longest running show in television history. Other than that, its' someone elses turn. Jet

Thanks for the nice compliments gents. They are very much appreciated. Speedy, it is a stag and the knife was totally hand made including the matching sheath. I beieve it is circa early 60s. . The sheath is actually a two in one design with the inner portion made of some very durable synthetic material. The top can be seen in the photo. The knive locks very tightly in the inner sheath. The creator which was (and remains) famous for his workmanship, is unfortunately no longer with us. To purchase one of his knives, one would place a deposit and wait as long as a year for delivery. Amazing stuff! Jet

I not a hunter but I collect other things besides watches. Since we have knife affectinados in the forum, I thought to post this photo for fun. Anyone familiar with this guy? The original hand made sheath is a nice clue. They sure don't make them like this today. Jet

The only watch that has been spotted is my TW best Submariner. It surprised me that what gave it away( to a friend watch collector) was not the usual details we often discuss mainly, pearl, side case holes, cyclops allignment , crown guards and the likes. The bezel assembly on these watches is a tad too small which throws the entire watch off balance, which was almost immediately recognizeable to my buddy. The Pams, not a chance. I know of one person that has a gen and knows what a Pam is. He had a hard enough time with my 029 which has zero mods other than an OEM rubber strap and quality 316L screws. He was darn impressed specially after we discussed the movment inside the beast. The vintage MBW Sea-Dwellers simply get compliments. I've been asked on occasion where these can be purchased. These guys are rare, unsual and look terrific as they arrive, IMO. Jet

Thanks, Floris! I very much appreciate the compliment. No need to be jealous. It took me the better part of a year to collect these three guys. You can do it much sooner. Cheers, Jet

The guy in the middle on Friday. Happy Easter!

Jetsons replied to Dutchy's topic in General Discussion
First and foremost, Happy Birthday! I'm very sorry to hear about the loss your watches, Dutchy. One of the reasons I love to order these watches is the anticipation of receiving them. I feel for you specially on your initial purchase experience. I'm in on a B-Day fund we can chip in to and try to make things right for you. Regards, Jet -
Not a good pic but this one: Cheers, Jet

Awesome watch and beautiful work, Chris! I've been thinking about taking my MBW white 1665 to the next level. Now that the watch shopping has slowed, it may be a good time time concentrate on improving the toys. Posts like these just can't help but push one over the edge. Cheers, Jet

Well said, RT! It is much better to have a handful of super quality/reliable toys than a drawer full of inferior watches. I have the 029 and my wife the 063, both with the 2893-2. These are fantastic watches with superb movements. Outside of the vintage MBWs, not much else touches them in overall quality/execution, with the Pam having the superior movement. BTW, the little woman loves the 063 and it has become her official play watch complimented with Don's Nubuck Sky Blue strap. Very nice deal, indeed! Jet

This one should do the trick: http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P6...ore&dir=catalog Jet

IMO, it's just not much fun laying down the Amex and picking up a new watch. With reps, you have to hunt them down, find ways to improve them, source OEM parts in the small corners of the palnet and in the process, learn a heck of a lot about watches. Cost, much less than OEM. Fun factor-priceless. For the price of an old ETA Tudor Sub, I can have three and perhaps four awesome sport vintage MBWs plus a few OEM parts. The fun factor and variety are terrific as is the learning curve! Jet

cyclops on bottom left photo. I'm scratching my head as to how someone can offer this kind of cabbage w/o movement pics and crappy photos. Jet

Rollie vintage GMT Master with the 2893. That would cover the matte dial, correct hand stack and required acrylic crystal. The GMT Master does exist from River with the 2893/correct hand stack but the GMT hand is too thick/short and the dial accuracy could use improvement. Not sure about case accuracy. RT, I have both Pam GMTs the {063 was for the little woman} with the 2893 and they are fantastic watches. Both are super smooth and very accurate time keepers. Very well built as well. These guys simply ooze with quality. They are also quite versatile with the simple change of the strap. BTW, I prefer the 029 which IMO, has a much more interesting and simpler dial plus larger hour markers. To answer your question, quite satisfied. Cheers, Jet
