  1. Nice! I always want one but too afraid of the second at 12 movements
  2. In my opinion, for Skyland, since the watch case has a lot of straight edges, it would be nice to have leather strap made that has similar shape and softness as the OEM rubber straps. I use to own two Skyland (one v2 and one v3), the only strap worked for me is my custom built one (see picture below). I'm not trying to sell you anything, just my opinion. The OEM straps are ok, not spectacular on Skyland mainly because it's a sportier watch and the OEM straps are more for a dressy kind of watches (like the BCE) with more round angles (IMHO only).
  3. Thanks! I had a gen mesh, but sold it to another member. Gen mesh is really nice indeed. Here are two more pictures with slightly better lighting.
  4. Not at all. I bought a pair for my BCE about several month ago. I expected the color to be more light brown, but it came in like little greenish brown. It's hard to discribe it. I ended up give it away to a friend of mine sells watches. He still has it now. It's definitely nothing like what they showed on their auction page. However, I do like their faux gator dark brown straps for my SA.
  5. I think next I'm going to do is to get an aftermarket mesh bracelet. I use to have a gen one, but it's too nice for me to use it, so I passed it on to another member. Not for a long while I will let you know when I change my mind.. hehe.
  6. Here is a kinda boring, crappy picture I took of the SOH today with my iPhone. For some reason the dial looks darker in the picture than real life. In real life, under normal light, the dial is actually a shade lighter than the bezel... it's almost kind of brown. The date is slightly off centered in the date window (the picture show it's more off centered, it's not, just the camera angle). This is because I used a older serviced ETA 2824-2 movement. I think if I buy a new movement with date at 6, the problem should go away. It's not enough to bother me to replacement the movement right now. I will worry about it when I need to have the movement serviced again in the future. Thanks Bikemike for doing such awesome job putting it together!
  7. Mine (Bob caramel calf in 22mm) has bad color. Good luck with yours. My custom black leather strap might be what you need. Just pm me. I use to use it on my Skyland before I sold it.
  8. You will be amazed how nice gen blue leather strap look on this watch.
  9. Welcome! AP is not my most favorite due to the sec at 12 movement, but I do like my diver. Good luck with the Safari!
  10. This is mine with gen dial. I was lucky and bought this from here. If you have to replace the movement, why not a gen ETA 7750? However, if what you have is a Navi Tricompax, then I'm not so sure if gen dial will fit. Speaking of AR. Does gen Navi of this vintage have AR on the crystal, Gents?
  11. Gents, Any good suggestions for a comfortable clasp? At this point, I don't care how close they are to gen, I just want a damn clasp that will fit my strap but not digging into my wrist! The clasp on the new style ss bracelet is pretty good. More flat and it's pretty comfortable for me. But, what about a better clasp for rubber strap? Thanks!
  12. I may have a 3135 clone spare sometime soon from BK.
  13. 2) The gen dial on mine looks matt. 3) I still see a little bit of slide rule markings on the gen dial once it's installed into the case with rep slide rule.
  14. It's hard to see in your pictures, but make sure the ring that goes around the dial is nicely centered in this watch.
  15. Thank you for your reply! I'm glad to hear the reset pusher is correct It's too bad ETA movement wont fit, the watch is such a beautiful one. Let me take another look at these two screws, hopefully just the screws.
  16. They have been for sale quite often lately on RWI.
  17. She just got caught today with her brothers...
  18. I need new tube? The watch currently doesn't have screw down crown.
  19. Thank you guys for the input! I stock couple gen Breitling dw and a Lello dw, so I'm good there (great to keep spares). I will keep the watch polished then. The current hands are somewhat damaged, especially the running second hand. They will have to go. I'm going to order some rep hands very soon. Unfortunately, no gen hands available. Tricompax caseback is an interesting idea. I will try to source one. I will check with Mike and see what he recommends on the crown. Now I just need to get a gen ETA movt on the cheap
  20. I say get the one with sapphire crystal. You won't regret it.
  21. I have a nighthawk. I like it a lot, but its crystal is mineral, so scratch easy. I haven't worn it for many years because of the scratched crystal. I really wish citizen can upgrade this watch with sapphire crystals.
  22. Guys, As you know, I just recently acquired a Navitimer Serie Special watch from another fellow member. The watch already has a gen dial on it and it looks pretty nice, but it has bad movement in it. I'm planning on installing a gen ETA 7750 movement with gen Breitling dw and a set of new hands. However, I would like to do a little more to it than just that. I'm wondering if you can please help me out on these questions. 1. I understand the gen case is brush finished. Is it the whole watch brush finished including the caseback and bezel? Has anyone done this to the rep before? 2. I measured the rep crown to be 6.8mm in diameter. I'm thinking about getting a gen crown. Is it also 6.8mm or smaller? The gen dial installed in the watch looks like to be a vintage dial. I know I can never make this watch more closer to gen because of the bezel edges and number placement and size on the bezel and the caseback, but it still seems to me to be a fun project (I don't mind the sub dial hands to be silver). Thanks!
