  1. I think if it's a Noob diver, they are all the same. SW200 movement is an option no matter who you purchase from. I enjoy mine with SW200, btw. I bought it from Tony.
  2. It seems to me there are more parts involved on an AP. The textured AP dial is also cost more to make I think. However, knowing how unreliable the modified second at 12 movements are, I wouldn't want to pay full price on it although I really like the look of Safari.
  3. I had two black dial SOH once... . I still have four franken BCEs. The bottom line is I think I just simply enjoy getting parts to build franken than actually wearing them. Sometimes I feel I have to buy a watch because I have or know where to get a gen part to fit. Maybe I'm not mentally healthy.
  4. It took only 4 days!!! I got my watch!!! Whether or not how close the watch to gen is, the dial quality is superb IMHO. The watch will be sized tomorrow.
  5. Yep, he makes good stuff!
  6. Hmm... it's good to know. Thanks! The blue SOH is next... just need to find one first
  7. Congrats! You have to get the blue gen dial on the bay.
  8. No worries man. That money doesn't belong to me, and I did what I needed to do.
  9. Does the rubber strap come with the two metal links? I heard the metal links on the SS bracelet are not removable.
  10. Thanks guys! Can't wait to get it! Here are two more pics. I know this watch is no mean perfect. The gen parts are also very hard to find and expensive, but as long as it has no other visual flaws (i.e. bad screws, poor finish, etc), I will be happy.
  11. Side-by-side shots? I will try to take some when I get the watch back. I'm not sure if the rep dw works on the gen dial. I would say yes but not 100% sure. I just got lucky to get a gen dw, so I didn't ever ask Mike to try the rep dw. Now the watch hands are installed, so it's kinda late. I think it would because on the gen dw, the text are centered vertically, same as the rep dw. The hands one mine are rep. I was told gen hands are one time use only and they are pretty expensive. I may not lume these hands at this time. Maybe later in the future, we'll see.
  12. I got the Zulu band either from the bay or Countycomm.com not sure which one. I bought it three or four years ago. Just be aware of poor quality look likes. I'm glad you are still wearing the bracelet. I have had it for a year but never had the guts to use it
  13. If you didn't write that SOH review of yours, I wouldn't fall in love with SOH right away. Thank you Krpster! Man, I wish I didn't sell my gen mesh bracelet... Oh well. @Krpster, did you use a stock ETA 2824-2 movement in yours?
  14. By the way, the Swiss ETA movement has H4 second/minute/hour wheels installed to make the separation of the hands nice. These wheels normally don't come with a stock ETA 2824-2 movement.
  15. Yeah, it's crazy. The gen dw was also packed a rep Navitimer bracelet without any separation... from the mail. I'm just glad that the text are ok and there are no scratches on the dw paint. To others: These are some work in progress pics (courtesy of BikeMike). I'm a very picky person on how parallel the hands to the dial is and Mike does very awesome work! Enjoy!
  16. Guys, The BBK Palladium looks very interesting to me today. I'm wondering if you can give me any more information on it. I'm totally a noob in term of Hublot. I know v1 is pretty good, but then there seem to be other versions out there. Some sellers say their bezel has 5 micron plating on it while others say 10 micron. Other than the bezel plating, are there any other differences between the "regular" edition and lite? I don't see any wrist shots posted here. Any one? Thanks!
  17. Great! Hopefully I will see it soon
  18. Guys, Mike is the one putting everything together for me. I have thrown him some big challenges... He does excellent work! Thanks Mike!
  19. Once I receive the watch I will post some pics! I'm glad my $350 gamble has paid off.
  20. Well, I'm not too sure about that on the dial. The dial on the SOH is actually a lot bigger than the movement. The movement is centerend by a big thick ring. I was just afraid that either the case is too small (rep dial too small... i.e. Navitimer Serie Special) or too big, so the gen dial cannot be perfectly fit. I said news flash because I didn't think anybody else here has tried to mod the SOH before.
  21. That's what I did. I installed a Swiss ETA 2824-2 movement inside. By the way, news flash - the gen dial fits the case and the gen dw works too! Will post pictures once I get the watch back.
  22. Haven't worn my RXW MM20 for a long time.
