That is an MBK case and I think you need a 3mm. I put the crystal in mine so long ago that I really do not remember. Seems like another member on this board recently got a clark crystal with a 2.5mm gasket and then went to a 3mm to make it right.

Wouldn't touch it...
With all this 16520 talk, I had to wear mine today. I've been thinking about converting it to a black dial lately. What so you guys think?

This came out around the time of the first WM9 and the WM9 v1.5 that Precious Time sold. Like Preacher says, it was an MBK case with noob dial and noob bracelet. The superlumed WM9 dial is V2 and later.
That Clarks' insert w/ WM pearl looks good B!
I was thinking that it looked good, as well. I keep buying the insert that WSO has on their eBay site, but when I receive it, it does not look the same as the one on the site. I think he has a pic of a gen 16610 modern insert on the site but is selling the same thing as everyone else.
Also, according to ByTor's reviews of the day (about 4 years ago), the Noob dial and hand set was one of the best around. It can't measure up to some of the dials we have today.

The Euromariner was a watch that Chris, with Eurotimez (a trusted dealer) assembled when he was in business. The Euromariner was an MBK case with a Noob dial and hands and a Clarke crystal. Not sure what bracelet he used but I think it was the MBK bracelet. I've seen folks refer to a Euromariner case, so this is what it is. A great case for a 2836 movement.

brand new tc dial n hand set.
gotta post pic after install this weekend.
the lume seems not as strong as my wm9 v3, I wonder if its the crystal expanding the light .
anyone try tc dial with old wm9 hands before? Does their lume prefect match?
if they do, I will save the tc hands as a back up set.

I purchased a TC SL dial and SL hand set and the lume of the hands do not match the dial. Dial is wonderful...hands are...kinda wonderful.

...Since I jus ordered a tc dial for an upgrade. Makes me wonder if I need a gen dial instead.
It just depends on what your objective is. If someone asks you, "is that watch a real Rolex?," what are you going to say?

It helps, when using a 2824 to polish down the screw head that holds the minute train bridge. It usually has a pretty good slot in it so you can take it down a good bit. That relieves a lot of the pressure from the dwo. I like using the 16000 cases with a 2836. Just fewer problems. I tried to build a 1601 and finally gave up. Never could get it to work well.

When measuring a wheel (i.e canon pinion or 4th wheel) from a 2836-2 or 2824-2 to determine the height, do you measure the full length of the shaft or do you measure from the gear to the tip of the shaft? IOW can you just put the entire wheel between the blades of the mic to determine what is the H number?
I know someone will answer this.
Thanks in advance!

I'd pay a good bit for a bracelet like that. How is it made...out of TC stuff, I mean. I can't figure out how to take one apart without serious damage.

I ordered TCs bracelet combo and compared the V2 clasp to the V3 clasp. IMHO the V2 clasp is superior...especially the fliplock. I put the V2 clasp on the V3 bracelet. On my MBK case I was stunned. There has been more complaining (here) about endlink fitment than anything else. The TC V3 endlinks fit the lugs on the MBK case like gen. Shape is perfect and I have the links so tight that it is waterproof between the endlink and the lug...lol I'll post pics.
I had given up my 16610 for vintages, but I had jmb drill the lugs and I purchased an SL dial (combo kit), hand set and DWO V2 from TC and voila. I think I will wear it a little.

Also, send an email to Andrew, at Trusty. He will source just about anything you need. If you can show it to him on one of his watches...he will get it. He sourced for me a superb jube a couple of years ago.

Darn man, that looks great!! Wish the 1680 cases had come to fruition.

Are you sure that you have the correct email address. I purchased some parts from him that I should have on Saturday and he has responded in one day each time that I emailed. I emailed him on yesterday morning and he responded this morning. It is usually one day.

The coronet screams fake. Sorey mate
+1 The old Noob coronet is better.

Look at the bracelets on Long Supply Co. They have both 14K and 18K bracelets. The TTs run $500 to $600. If you get a solid gold one it can run $2000. It's an ounce or two of gold. What do you expect?
You might have to use a rep clasp if you want the Rolex coronet on it.
-
If you were to give it to me for free, then I would wear it. :-)
If it was free I would take the movement and put it in a super franken and throw the rest away.
-
Thanks! Think I'll try to get an SL dial and hand set from either TC or BK and move on.

genuine 93150's are pretty expensive, but there are some pretty good rep models out there. Also you can pick up a 93150 clasp and endlinks and you will have a really nice bracelet. I love the older 16610's with drilled lugholes. i ended up buying a "P" serial from 2000 a few years ago.by 2000 they were using SEL bracelets (93250), Although you could build one to whatever model year you wanted. I really don't wear it too much. but it's not going anywhere, I'll pass it down to my son at some point.
Here's mine for comparison
Thanks P153. I will look for a 93150 but will probably go ahead and source a dial and hands and use it with the 250 that I have for now.

As has been mentioned....the rehaut is too deep for a 16800.
And nope...the LV never came with lug holes.
Maybe sell the case (or use it for a 16610 build....it certainly looks great
) and pick up a 3035 holed case for a 16800.
Thanks to all. I just really love the vintage pieces...like this...
Until I can build a decent 1680 then I guess I'll get by with the 16610
Thanks, again for your advice and help.

The bezel is fine for a 16800 but the rehaut is way too deep. No matter what you do it will still look like a 16610 so either sell it and buy something different or just build an older 16610 with hollow endlinks a 93150.

Thanks! That's what I'm thinking. I know that the subject of 93150s has been kicked to the wall and back on this forum but is there a pretty good rep 93150 from any of our TDs. I have two from Josh, but they have that flat piece that goes into the endlink and it just doesn't look right. Gens are curved a little going into the endlink.
-
It is a 1:1 case/bezel design. I use a gen spec Clark crystal on it. As I have looked at the 800s on eBay, it just seems as though the bezel teeth are shorter and not as well defined as the 16610...sort of like the Noobmariner bezel. I would love to build an 800 on this platform.
Below was the watch before I robbed the insides for my son. I added the gen tube and crown...703.

I have had this MBW 16610 for 4 years but I took the insides and put them in another case for my son, for Christmas. I sent the midcase to jmb for drilling and just received it back.
I have been watching, with interest, the threads regarding the 16800 builds. That was my original plan for the case, but in looking at the 800s on eBay it seems that the MBW bezel...and bezel teeth...are just not right for an 800. So, now, I am trying to decide what to do with the case.
Were there any early LVs that had drilled lugs?
-
I'll take that PAM today... Get me one.
-
Ok...thanks to all. One more question. Would a drilled lug case have been used on an early LV. I have watched the Bay and have not seen one.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is this BP? I have been around here for 4 or 5 years but that seems to be new terminology to me.
