  1. Thank you for this. I truly appreciate your work here.
  2. Thank you so much for this! Confidence building indeed. My sub is now cowering in the corner and glaring at me..
  3. I really enjoyed this. Thank you for taking the time to educate us.
  4. From my very limited understanding, it sounds like the piece connected to the mainspring may be no longer attached to the movement but I have never experienced this; I am only making a wild guess. I would definately have a watchmaker open it up asap as whatever is being hit or rattled against is definately experiencing wear it was not designed for. I am sure you will get some comments from our more experienced members soon. Good luck!
  5. Okay, I just went through the Panerai website for the first time Is that the 44mm PAM 113?
  6. Now you're getting me excited about your vacation LOL Enjoy your time
  7. Wow Eddy that really came out nice! I've never paid much attention to Panerai but really love that dial and strap combination. What reference number is that? 40mm? Yes, your daughter's macro photography skills are much better than mine LOL
  8. Thank you for this excellent comparison. The depth of the engraving on the gen seems a little poor.
  9. I agree. As a perfectionist, a correct modern SD would have been an easy choice. Until then, I sit on the sidelines.
  10. As an alternative, moissanite is wonderful. Wifey loves hers and sleeps well knowing her stone doesn't have the association of the blood diamonds.
  11. Welcome! You've definately come to the right place.
  12. Brave man Nice story and good luck on your incoming package!
  13. Never seen any, but I just had to Google it. Pretty girl watches on google and I must say, a nice video here: http://www.aquanautic.com/ Do they have interchangable bezels?
  14. Yes. You should wind your watch a few times to get the thing going and then strap it on and let it finish the job. No. An automatic movement is not made for manual winding and will not withstand continued abuse. Take your pick
  15. Tape was the best idea I could think of but even then I worry about the adhesive. Maybe someone else has a better idea?
  16. I like EL's Patek 3919 since it has a closed back like the gen. Probably want to put a new strap on it, though.
  17. I'm thinking you will definately want to keep the dremel away from the coating. Maybe try taping it off first?
  18. I think we'd have more Patek fans if we could get more accurate Patek reps =/
  19. Welcome! You've entered a whole new world =)
  20. Welcome! I share your warm regard for PT.
  21. I too have lost money with two lucky tax free pass guesses for last two weeks and I never had many RWG dollars to begin with. Surely if it was theft, they could find someone better to steal from?
  22. Our sheets cost more than my watches too LOL At least they're nice to sleep on
  23. I can certainly see a change in temperature such as going from outside to inside doing this but I'm not sure why it would happen twice. I would definately get it looked at now rather than wait until something happens to break it. Good luck!
  24. Wow, this is a nice thread.. definately need to bookmark this one. For reference, I just picked up a "long" Patek Philippe 125x85 Shiny Black Aligator strap from my local AD for $210 plus tax.
  25. Wow, great report. Really looking forward to your next regarding the salespeople. It looks like I may wind up in LV for a week of training in October.
