You can get the slow beat movement with the datewheel as a separate part from Angus and just grab an MBW dial from Narika....Good to go. Heres my one that The Zigmeister relumed.

Thanks for sparing some of your valuable time to do this great review Zig we really appreciate it. Looks like a service is mandatory on these movements as this is the second one that looks like someone has swept the table crumbs into it.

Leave it as is mate as that dial is pretty sweet...Very nice pickup.!

The older serie special did not have a sunken datewheel and with a quick datewheel swap it looked a million dollars. I would concentrate on a gen 6-9-12 dial with a lello or similar datewheel and give the glass some chief ar coating and you will have a pretty nice rep. I also changed the caseback on my old one but it still needs an A1 caseback to get it correct but these have not been repped.

T how would these go over time when on a 6497 movement being constantly handwound.?

T for those of us with gen crownguards can we put the crown on a lathe and make the dish deeper like the old T48's?

I have asked Jakob as well for this as the caseback isn't bad on Davidsens but I would like slightly crisper engraving and of course individual serial numbers.

D I have some Tamiya ts-80 clear matt spray that you are welcome to have mate. I have used this on a previous 201a dial from FGD and it is perfect for this job. Shoot me a PM.
