  1. Is oil (which kind) required or do you simply tighten the screw on the rotor?
  2. IT HAS BLACK HOUR RINGS! Look for pics and a review this weekend. Here is a teaser pic.
  3. Just undid my Rolex Explorer II white dial. It has the black hour rings! I'm tickled pink!
  4. My two watches just arrived. Shipped on the 18th of Dec. and arrived on the 18th of Jan. Received a Rolex Sub and Rolex Explorer II white dial (IT HAS THE BLACK HOUR RINGS)! Hang in there guys, it looks like there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
  5. Brilliant Exp II! I may be wrong but there was an Exp Ii with gray rings made for a couple or maybe just one year in the mid 80's
  6. You lose them in firefox? I lost all mine the other day for no reason.
  7. I ask this because I just read a mini write up on the Jean Richard Ti Diverscope. I love the watch in everyway, Ti, internal bezel but know I would never wear it because the crown used to adjust the internal bezel is at the "9" and screwdown. The same way any chronograph with screwdown pushers wouldn't work for me as well (I time a lot of events and find it a pain to unscrew and screwdown the pushers everytime I want to time an event). I find it visually unappealing to leave the screwdown pushers in the open position. Curious to know if others feel the same way about a watch. 8. Being a two-piece it isn't as long as a nato strap. With that said I, at times cannot see the forest for the trees. My mind is on so many others things I missed the obvious. That solves the issue. I still would like to know for my own knowledge if I choose to do so in the future if cutting a zulu strap will cause it to unravel.
  9. If that is what you want to do go for it, never let others dissuade you from doing what you feel strongly about. With that said I think it would potentially cause more harm than good. Look up red cross or another charity site and find out what essentials is needed and maybe go in that direction. Just food for thought.
  10. You mentioned him already but Lani. I have really missed his presence on RWG.
  11. ]Just bought a 2 piece Zulu strap for my X-33. In the picture you will see the strap is "hanging in the wind" and drives my OCD batty. I'm not sure what material the strap is made from and don't know if I cut it, if it will "unravel". Can someone enlighten me? I circled the point where I would make the cut
  12. Intentions are good but folllow through could be better applied. I bet it would cause more harm than good. Imagine a person of little means with a Rolex watch walking around in his environment, just asking for trouble.
  13. To name just one is really hard. I've been bitten by the Rolex bug and have been given copious amounts of help from many members who frequent the Rollie forum. A special shout out to Donerix and Dizzy who have been most helpful in my research of the 1665. Edit: I realized mine was more of a personal note but would nominate Ubi and Freddy, like the American Express card, they have been everywhere helping out with their extensive knowledge base.

  15. I didn't know they rep'd a Thunderbird? Thanks for the info
  16. Hont sourced it for me.
  17. My TOG is 36mm. What makes a TOG a Thunderbird?
  18. Nice to see some love for the TOG, pretty watch.
  19. Hmmmmm. I just took the stem/crown out. I measured, and took the crown off and put the new crown on, measured again and reinstalled the stem/crown. I can: 1. adjust the date 2. adjust the time 3. wind the movement I cannot screw the crown back into the watch. Anyone have an idea where I went wrong? Side note: I read how the gen crown is smaller than the rep but I didn't notice much difference. EDIT: > 5 minutes later after playing around with the crown I was able to screw the crown back to "wearable state". One problem, I turned the crown maybe, maybe 2-3mm. Not the normal turns as you would expect. > I am thinking I screwed the crown onto the stem a little too far. What do the pros think?
  20. I agree completely, the watch looks brilliant. It's the new 39mm correct?
