  1. @TeeJay, that's what I think will end up happening either that or just getting me a gen watch in the 100-300$ range. Thanks :-) @Fakey, mines getting to be like that she still will listen to me babble on but in most cases she'll either turn her music up a little or out right ignore me lol
  2. I had that thought too but I can't find any gaps and I swear I remember when I took it to my jeweler him saying it had a gen type caseback
  3. Also, where is a good place to simply buy movements from?
  4. Just completed this one too (on the same clock still have the other face just traded the face off...) Incase you're wondering my last name is pfrogner so that's what's with the p-frog and what not. The flash makes it harder to tell but there's a fly at the top and markers at 3, 6, 9
  5. As I'm still fairly new to all this... why Rado? They're nice watches but???
  6. I love these winder clocks... Though the P-Frog clock is a pretty bad design I'd like to eventually start designing watches... Would be sooo much fun... Any idea how to get them made for a reasonable price? I mean I know there are make your own watch websites but they are always soo expensive. My only thought is buy like walmart watches and just mod the faces or put them in different cases and stuff lol... Any other thoughts? Edit: They moved this from General Discussion to other brands? I mean it makes sense but it's kind of just a general discussion about the clocks I'm not really talking about the brands they just happen to be westclox???
  7. smaller is the word for that part right there... there would be a smaller opportunity as most people if they already have a perfect watch they bought for 300$ they're not going to buy another... however if they paid 200$ the first time and there were flaws and another came out that had those flaws fixed and was $300 you'd get a much larger response....
  8. @Ronin, thank you for the pics on the other note how's the gmt hand on that watch work? haha I am just curious because I heard they have a lot of trouble making them function correctly and to have come from chinatown... To clear something up: I know the righty tighty lefty loosey thing I just was for some reason thinking it might be different with watches (don't ask me why but they seem so particular I figured that would be something you'd suspect haha)
  9. lol Glad we got some quality replies before that happened ;-) Haha well I'll keep trying with the duct tape I guess haha..I had a pair of gloves with a good rubber texture on the bottom it wasn't budging still I don't know maybe I'll take it down to my jeweler again and get him to loosen it haha
  10. lol Sadly, probably true it's like a mechanic breaking the car he's working on to get work in the future lol
  11. lol But now you left out the 'y' in silly... sill mistakes are crazy! :-P
  12. I know I've wondered this myself. Like they go as far as to line the x's up with the 1,2,3,4, and 5 hour markers and the r's with the 7,8,9,10,11 or w/e but then will screw up something as simple as the color on the date wheel? lol
  13. I picked these up at the local Goodwill today haha... a little dirty... I cleaned and made a face for one already... Can you guess which? The others on the list but I kind of liek the way that one looks. They're both Westclox winders.. nice but loud haha In light: Lume shot haha:
  14. bahh.. humbug.... i'm either weak or the guy who worked on it last tightened it beyond belief because i can't get it to budge at all
  15. Just so you don't have a giant band in the way right? I think I'll try harder to find rubber gloves as I found medical gloves but those aren't heavy duty enough and we don't have dishwashing gloves...
  16. I might do that offshore... Probably more just a light though as it's currently 15 degrees outside lol
  17. Yea this doesn't make sense to me...
  18. Gave up for the time being... think I'll just get a real case opener.... eventually lol
  19. Maybe I'm not putting enough force into it but the ball just starts slipping before any back removing occurs..... I'm also fearing that maybe I somehow tightened even though it didn't move when I was turning it the wrong way.... I'm ALSO figuring since the last person that tightened it was my jeweler he probably did it so tight I'll never get it without a back opener >_< lol I just want to see the movement inside and try to ID it...
  20. On another side, I'm guessing I have the wrong direction again as I realized in saying Clockwise/Anticlockwise I was referring to the actual face of the watch RATHER than the back of the watch... So anticlockwise it is... just on the right side of the watch... lol Maybe I'll just use a giant wrench thing like the kid in that one video... "I suck" was the title of the video lol - as this [censored] isn't budging >>>_<<<
  21. :-( Sadness see pink on CGs? Sad sad sad lol
  22. Well I don't have one of those right now I'm just playing with duct tape but as of now... no lol no progress... HOWEVER I figured out my watch is plated... there's bits of red showing through on the backs of the CGs... :-( sadness lol Guess I should get a new daily wearer :-(
  23. lol @Ken and @Ronin... I disengaged the band now haha and no serials between the lugs :-( lol Surprise surprise was from canal st after all ;-)
  24. Disengage it? Like remove it from the lugs? I'm kind of afraid to do this as I also don't have a springbar fork either haha... i need some tools :-P I used a knife and a socket as my tool to replace the battery on my pop-back timex haha
  25. haha, You mean I just had the wrong direction? k... try this again haha
