I had a customer ask me to make him some exotic straps for his B&R 03-94 and I just got this Cayman hide from the tannery. I will be offering straps for B&R, AP ROO, Panerai and other custom projects. Have a look: Here the two other straps I made for him (Darker Cayman flank and black Iguana Neck):

Thanks, I still have a long way to go (new crystal, roulette wheel, small GMT hand, bakelite-ish insert) and it's really just a watch for me since it's not accurate in size (used a GMT IIC case), but it's been fun so far

I made bands for the AP ROO and they were the same.

I guess it depends on the residual value after the lease. Then you can compare the two options at the time of the end of the lease and see what's better (also depending on the market value at this time). My 2 cents ...
