Pbdad made this one for me and I can't get it off my wrist. I know it's pure fantasy, but I love it. I want to make a rivet-style bracelet for it (I guess there aren't any existing ones wide enough so I will have to use the DSSD bracelet and try to make it out of that - any suggestions?) What do you think:

I decided to take mine in the water again. Not a good idea, now the delamination has taken over about 55% of the whole crystal. I hope they will have a replacement crystal soon (my last email from torobravo said NO)

Found some more pics: And some gen eye candy:

Did you see this: http://oceanictime.blogspot.com/2010/06/helson-sharmaster-prototype.html Won't take an Omega dial, but it looks great and it's a real dive watch. Pre-reserved mine today: Here some preliminary specs: 44mm bezel 54mm length 15mm thick 22mm mesh tapers to 20mm Watch has a ETA 2824-2 movement screwed sapphire crystal and lumed acrylic bezel monoblock case mesh bracelet Pre order offers as option crown left or right blue or black dial white or black date window

Wow guys - you are really in a different league ... I would probably give my left arm for either version (and I am not even a Rolex kind of guy). If I had to choose one: I would ............. no I can't even make a decision they are both beautiful. I hope you can do both at some point and post side by side pics of the finished results.

A Cali I just finished:

Just got it;

As far as I know the bezel insert is sapphire as well, but I am not sure.

Just took mine in the pool for a couple of hours, so far no issues. It's the one from torobarvo (swiss). No which one do I keep?

I found a 12' Boa in my garden a while ago, here it is what it looks like now: -
These two are currently my favorites and are getting 90% of my wrist time. They are from the same basic background but yet so different: While the Egiziano is my favorite every day watch, when it comes to water activities and rugged terrain the LM-7 is my preferred choice:

My mom is of course the best mom in the world and with 63 she is still hip and full of energy. Lately she has been showing interest in my watches and straps whenever we see each other. She loved the 5218-205 (which French customs confiscated ) So for her upcoming birthday I wanted to give her a Panerai. I tried for a gen by participating at a raffle on another forum (needless to say "I won zilch" ). But then I picked up a nice unworn DSN PAM 01A from JoJo here at RWG. I made her a nice soft goatskin strap with sewn-in PreV-style buckle and a PreV-stylish wooden box and I hope she will like it and wear it:

Gordon made this dial for me and it really takes the watch to another level IMO. The pictures don't do it justice (we are having a horrible storm here): PS: I have fixed the loose crown guard already so no patronizing comments please

This looks great - everytime I try to pull this off it just looks stupid on me (maybe I gotta try a white dial Explorer II?) Today for me: playing in the rain:

The periscope detail was the result of a stroll through the electrical department of the local hardware store ....

I haven't really posted much lately and I feel like I shoud: Here some teaser shots of projects I am working on currently: Some 3646 projects: The ugraded black dial for my Big Egiziano: A prototype for a new limited edition vintage strap (BATTAGLIA 000/006): My 6152-1 Angelus project is slowly coming together: A watchbox I am building for the limited Edition "ABYSS": A subtle strap conversion for a fellow geek: And I finally got Lightroom and the "sparta" effect:

Thanks for the feedback

Wears very comfortable on the right side. The crown doesn't bother at all....

Of course I would rather have the "real" PloProf - vintage or the re-issue would be fine. But realistically it's not in the budget. So while waiting for the long-promised rep to finally appear out of the murky waters of Ghangzouh I found this Ocean7 LM-7 on WUS and just had to engage. Once unpacked I couldn't wait to check out different strap and bracelet options. To be honest - I somehow like them all and each one gives the watch a whole new character. So now i am asking for your opinion what you think looks best: 1) On a Stainless steel Oyster-style bracelet: Turns it into a real chuck of steel 2) On a Lonestar Mesh (I have a thicker mesh with double flip-lock coming which might be better): This was my original idea for the watch, but with a looser knit mesh like the original Omega 3) On the Ocean7 original rubber: I don't usually like rubber straps, but this one is really comfortable 4) On a Vintage Tenente Limited Edition strap (borrowed from my Egiziano): A bit of a change to the original feel of this dive tool And here a few more shots: The dial changes color depending on the angle of the light: The lume is really bright:

I found some great old movements on ebay, but lately this source seems to be drying out. Here my favorite finds: Cortbert Cal. 492 in great condition (went straight into my 6152-1 4-Liner project: Nice Rodina Art-Deco movement (which went into my Cali project: Concord 8 day movement (never saw one small enough to fit in a wristwatch again):

The 4-Liner looks great, real old and worn ....

I am crying and I am not really sure why: Is it because I feel sorry for Shay and that he didn't get an equal chance at life or because I am happy that there are still people that care. Maybe because I am happy that my children are lucky. I had a pretty bad day myself today (traveling home, the car is still not back from the shop, had to take a rental, the power was out in half the country, bats have moved into the attic of my restaurant and the last days rain has turned the road up to my house into a mud-slide and managed to seep through my roof). But reading this makes my problems look so insignificant. Thank you Lani
