  1. Thanks. I love this place
  2. Does anybody by any chance have Ingod44's email address? PLease PM me if yes since I can't find a way to contact him via ebay. Thanks for the help... and sorry for the little thread jacking
  3. It looks so ........real. Beautiful piece.... If you ever need some more aging I would be happy to do it for you ...
  4. Something I am working on:
  5. I was supposed to go paint-balling as well, but then I got a larger reservation at the restaurant and now I have to work Still my new 24A from DSN:
  6. " More subforums usually leads to empty subforums, in my experience." +1
  7. Got the email too. Here one of the pics: Can't wait for mine, just wish I could have taken it on my vacation .....
  8. I am with dluddy - FINALLY : 24A
  9. To me it sounds like Freddy is looking for some parts for his next project(s) and is trying to single-handedly influence the market into a downward trend +1 to Ronin's comment regarding a Rolex Heritage line (the Tudor Heritage Chronograph looks like a great first step), but in the end I think they really don't care what the customers want (see the YM II - who buys that ???)... If I had any say in Rue Fran
  10. Looks like you found your soul mate. Don't fix it if it ain't broken. I would love to give advice, but my track record hardly makes me an authority on the subject (unfortunately I can fall in and out of love in surprising and increasingly shorter intervals...) But I agree: You have to work to keep a relationship interesting which really isn't so hard as long as you don't fall victim to the every day routine which is the best known romance killer of all...
  11. Testing the China Clipper (work in progress):
  12. All the honor for the dial needs to go to Gordon/Nightwatch. I only did the back plate....
  13. I finally cracked the crystal on my Big Egi (carrying beer cases and smashing it in the door frame ). Living in Nicaragua doesn't make the watch hobby any easier and since there was no quick solution I ended up buying a 6mm plexi sheet and went to my watch smith. He did all you see below by hand (using the watch case as a reference). It took only two attempts and only because I didn't like the radius of the upper edge of the first one. The crystal feels so solid and has no distortion (the lume at night looks sick, I will take pic tonight) Here is the result: If you have a DSN Egiziano this is a perfect improvement IMO
  14. Looks like you have enough great choices for dinner. If you want to try something different for lunch and you like Asian food try "Kelley & Ping" (127 Greene Street in SoHo, (212) 228-1212 ). Great food (their lemongrass-flavored dishes are very good) and watching people that come in to eat or shop ... I loved it (and I cook for a living...)
  15. No. Look at the dial and far the markers are from the edge....
  16. Mine left August 6th. It's still not here, but then I live in NIcaragua and everything is possible here .....
  17. I am happy to make you a strap for your Breitling. Unless somebody cut my thumb off without me noticing I would say I am wearing the watch on my right wrist (but I admit it's a rather unconventional way of taking a wrist shot and can be confusing)
  18. My favorite in this nice pile of watches would be: ,,, can't really decide ... how do you do this in the morning? I would be an hour or two late for work every morning trying to select which watch I want to wear (and then probably change outfits to compliment it ("ah shucks - gotta put a black shirt on if I want to wear the 218A .... ) Enjoy them !!
  19. If you want a car for fun and driving excitement the 911 is the better choice (I would go for one between 86-89 when they still had the real sound, also cheaper). The 928 is a great touring car and inhales miles (and gas) at incredible speed (I remember driving in Germany in the good old days and having the needle 300+ km/h for long periods). If you get a 928 go for the GTS with the manual (first gear left and down) this baby flies, but I still think the 911 is the more fun car because it's a lot lighter and connects more with you. Oh I miss my Carrara RS (no AC, no insulation, red nylon strap door openers and all), sometimes it sucks living in a country where the roads are so bad that a Porsche wouldn't make it past the drive way .... BTW - drive careful in the rain: I totaled both cars, each time hydro-planing at speeds well over 200 km/h
  20. Thanks for the compliment. Whenever you are ready just drop me a line....
  21. A good friend of mine of 20 years is a big used car dealer in Frankfurt, they do a lot of lease returns and re-possessions and have all cars at very good prices (from a VW Polo to an Aston Martin). Check out their site: http://www.automobilangebot.de/ If you contact them ask for Thomas or Jens and tell them Eric from Miami recommended them and they will take good care of you
  22. Great project and even better write up. For a Rolex novice like me it is mind boggling how you manage to capture the spirit of these vintage time pieces (especially with the two most recent projects). Did you - or will you - ever do this with a no-crown guard sports model ? If so we all will be listening very closely.... Wear it well.
  23. I would be interested in a few. Paul - where are you located?
  24. I am guessing you guys are a little bit closer to Bangkok than myself ( 10615.5 Miles - I looked it up) to be able to go for the weekend I am still going, need a vacation anyway. Your 6263 is what I am dreaming to have one day. Don't you think there might be more of those to be found in BKK? I will look hard, but maybe somebody can point me in the right direction.
