  1. Great to see Joshua. If only they would update the flawed date wheel on the swiss movement then we would be cooking with gas!!!
  2. Seriously dumb!!!!!!!! Firstly can one not see that a screw needs tightening! and secondly please tell who they are so we can get immunised against stupid people! The good members of this forum would not want to get involved with such an *******. Also send them a screwdriver Eddie so they can tighten their own screw!
  3. I'm sorry to hear this Chris and I hope things work out and you come out on top! Take care mate!!
  4. I took it apart and Finepics is dead on. After much thought I decided I would prefer a visually better watch rather than a chron that may break anyway so I did it and here is the result. A shame it has no AR coating but I can always drop this movement in the next generation that has AR! Here is the link to TRC as this board would not work for me when I started to post the progress. TRC down yet again! Here is a finished pic.
  5. Already knackered......movement went ages ago on this one and the bits have sat in my watchbox. I will update if I go ahead this weekend!
  6. Yes it was from an older movement. The date print is direct on to the wheel but I thought I could grind down the teeth in the centre and stick it in top of the 187 wheel in such a way that it did not get fowled by the edges of the recess. I might be tempted to try!
  7. I have an asia 7750 date wheel from my pam50 which has the correct font like on the 196 reps and wondered if I could stick it over the original date wheel on my EL 187 thus bringing it closer to the dial. I'm not inclined to strip the movement down to look yet but I'm guessing there is ample room to do this in theory! Any experts out there to confirm or deny?
  8. The sub dial is at 12 on a Genuine AP. Will a 7750 turned on it's side with mods not do the trick?
  9. 0313/1000 reporting in! On the whole very good but I can't help feeling this is the copy of the copy. There are small differences between the Watchhonpo model and this one. I seem to be a lucky one as my bezel is nice and firm just like Ken's. The date issue is minor cos you don't really look at it, too much else to view! The AR exclusion is the biggest flaw which spoils the whole thing. A blue tint would have been nice like the original 111 reps. The engraving is definately not as deep as Ken's but good enough. Not tried the chrono and have no intention of doing so. I'm suprised at comments about the strap as it is pretty much as good as the oem example and better than the watchhonpo that I handled. THe makers stamps are crisp and accurate. Watchhonpno version. EL Version. I think that davdsen needs to make an AR replacement crystal for this watch as there are many buyers of it.
  10. Just beautiful Maciek!!!! Nice to see a different strap combo. I fancy trying a tan strap on mine when it comes. I presume it is 26/26?
  11. Begged, stole and borrowed for this one! Bugger the holiday!!!!!
  12. The dealer was River and the original crystal was not a magnified type but very reflective due to the convexed shape. It was clear at a thin angle just like this PO crystal but nowhere near as crisp as it now looks. The photo's donot really do it justice. I may buy an OEM AR crystal from Ofrei as I love this watch. It does have the see through back but so does the genuine. The movement is the gold one but I put a silver rotor on it in place of the gold item and it looks a bitter more classy now!
  13. As Palp says just gring the lever down. This is always the case and nothing to do with the stem length.
  14. Just arrived home from a business trip and sat thinking what to do while looking at my Omega reps and hehpresto! I love this new GMT but hate the very reflective crystal it came with and have pretty much fallen out with my orange 4th PO so I thought.......I wonder if the crystal will fit? The looked close enough so I stripped both down to the bare case and pushed out both crystals. Same diameter! but the PO is slightly thicker. THe AR difference was very obvious so I decided to give it a whirl. I pressed in the AR glass and polished it all up and fitted everything back together and wow!!!! the difference is fantastic. THe dial clarity is greatly improved and now far less reflective giving a stronger colour to the dial which always looked milky especially under artificial light. The crystal does sit higher but I don't mind that really. Have a look at the two quick pics and see what you think.
  15. Having held this watch in my hand I would go higher if required upto a $1k. The quality and finish is incredible on this particular rep and far higher than any other rep to date. It will set the benchmark for others to come.
  16. Personally I would prefer to see better and more accurate versions of what we already have. I see Watchhonpo now shows a correct bezel 7750 Submersible but I'm sure the date font and magnification are as poor as ever. I think an AP Royal Oak Offshore chrono is well overdue and enough Panerai have been copied now.
  17. That case looks fake to me. The crown guards are hugging the crown far too much for an early SD. Be very wary!
  18. I have just fitted a 2.1mm crown and have experienced none of these problems and mine too has a fairly shallow back.
  19. THanks By-tor, they are the best effort yet. @colin46 Maybe newer TT's are polished but my L serial(1990) gen I had a few months ago was not polished. They probably changed when the SEL' came along.
  20. 7mm cyclops! Why are we not seeing a date photo then?? Did you brush finish the case on the 104 as it should be all polished? Nice strap!
  21. None of the recent 172's have the correct recessed sub dial or correct case. They have brushed steel which is not even close. At least Titanium has an appearance of Tantalum if not the weight! Precious time's is not good nor is Trusty's. I think the older rep that was pretty close is no longer made now.
  22. Genuine Sub TT's that i have seen do not have polished sides. All Sub's are that way I think, certainly steel subs a re brushed. Not sure about the centre links but I've never had one wear out on me yet so not bothered on that score and yes River was the supplier of this one.
  23. This is my favourite PAM but not a rep, sorry! Shown here with my rep 168
  24. Today I received this beauty and to date, this is the best by far 'out of the box' TT Submariner. The end links are superb and crisp and the bezel colour and pearl are almost flawless. The dial print is excellent and the markers are well finished and even. Good crystal height but the rehaut is slighlty more shallow than a TW/MBW or gen but better in my opinion than previous efforts. THe crown is nice and the guards are better but still reuire a small amount of tweaking. Date font is pretty much spot on now and magnification looks about right to me. On the whole a very good example of a TT Sub and worthy of the title 'best TT SUb yet'!
