  1. The genuine bars are very well made and pricy at 5 pounds each!, the biggest difference is that the outer tube is 19mm so that all the sprung section is either inside the tube or in the lug so giving a much better and stronger fit.
  2. THe case would fool most dealers(the back may not but I bet a few will not notice the presicion is not quite 100%) but the bracelet lets it down. The pushers do not screw on the real one as said. I have just fitted a genuine 7750 movement and the dial fitted perfectly so the date font is now perfect too. Just waiting for a set of hands from Ofrei and a OEM AR crystal to complete then pics will follow. I already have an OEM bracelet and I will wear this watch as an everyday beater that should be reliable.
  3. The spring bars are genuine that's for sure, they came direct from my rolex dealer. I drilled the inner lug slightly to allow the thicker section of the spring bar to seat better. They do not stick out beyond the case but do look that way in the pics. I prefer the look of the bar to come near to the outer edge. A personal thing I guess.
  4. Just picked up some spring bars from Rolex today and wow, what a difference in fitment and thickness(no more rattly end links!) I fitted agen tropic last week and absolutey love this watch. It has the mystery movement but keeps great time, chrono is [censored] though! may have to fit a VJ23 at some point I guess!
  5. Looking today at their page revealed a very good looking range of Vintage Daytona's with very good dials and sub spacing. Not sure abou tthe movment but I think they are saying VJ72 lookalike. THes elook very much like DWstyle watches but the true experts will have a better idea. Here's the link to the webpage. http://shopping.e-conveni.net/index.html?cart_num=1743
  6. My 005 is getting desparate for it's new crowning glory.
  7. I have it on good authority that the date will be improved. I've had three 187's and none have had bezel issues, what do you guys do with them??? As to perfect AR,bright Lume, water resistance pefect HE valve, etc! come on guys these are reps........when is that going to sink in!!! Some of you are living in a fantasy world if you ever think they will make perfect copies without any flaws what so ever:blink: God even Rolex don't make identical watches form one day to the next. I've had two or three of the same model on several occasions and they all vary slightly from CG's to dial font to date mag variations.
  8. It is nice but my pennies are already waiting for the swiss7753 187 due shortly
  9. This is something that has been in my mind for some time but lack of contacts in this field of expertise has not let it go any further! I would be in for 4 guards please.
  10. Puretime's watch is NOT the version being showcased by Josh and Andrew but the cheap copy already available and poor at that!!! Remember it will still be a rep and will have a flaw somewhere, they always do and always will for obvious reasons.
  11. Very nice but pointless in the wrong material
  12. Will the date window line as I thought this can be an issue on eta's?
  13. Wearing my Eta AP rose gold Wempe. Received it today after Andrew sending me the asian model in error. The difference of the asian is qite large. The eta has a better finsih with a more accurate and solid clasp plus Sapphire crystal with better date mag and the nicest rep strap I've had yet. It has it's flaws but these are seriously rare watches in the U.K.(I'm yet to see anyone wearing one!)
  14. If you are paying over retail from an authorised dealer I would report him as this practise is not allowed in the U.K and not seen in a good light by Panerai. Only aftermarket sellers get away with that. It is a beautiful watch though as my local AD has one in stock at the moment and also a PAM104! If I had not just bought a Seadweller I would be tempted. Enjoy the watch!
  15. Sorry Linder, I have not had any time this last few days to acquire a digital measure to get accurate number s for you. Do you still want them?
  16. NO probs Palp! Anytime yesterday will be fine fo rmy little crowns!
  17. I'm just about to fit a swiss 7750 in my new SMP chrono but had to order gen hands from Ofrei but the subdial hands are back ordered until mid November. The crystal has been sent for AR coating on the inside and then it should be a great solid daily beater!
  18. He is not interested in building these watches but he will check the movment and then the rest is up to me. Time could be the biggest issue for me but I will try and get it done as soon as poss. Really need another dial first. Does anyone know if DW still supplies dials and if so what are his contact methods? Thanks guys!
  19. Very nice my friend. Not sure I'm going to go this far yet but I might once I have the lovely 72 in front of me!
  20. I received my new SL hands and canno pin upgrade today so got straight on with fittng them. I have not ventured this far into a watch movement before but I found this job quite easy. Hardest is getting the hands back on! The difference is fantastic. I had already fitted David's AR crystal and crown(waiting for Palp's new crown though) a while ago and the dial had been Superelumed when I bought the watch. All it needs now is a correct back and I'll be happy. Enjoy the pic. The lume shot was taken in semi daylight conditions so not perfect but you will get the idea.
  21. I know but I will try and get one for less if possible. Maybe I'm getting carried away with this project already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some of my reps might be trading owners soon
  22. I will take some good photos when it arrives. I will try to find a gen dial but I'll use a DW if necessary. I've set myself a budget for this one and hpoefully stay within
  23. I won the auction so the wait is on for delivery now. My watchmaker is going to service the movment and lube where required before removal and refit! Need a VJ72 dial now!
