I went through a search on this here in Australia late last year.... I beagan talking to optical shops here around Australia, with no luck, they just looked at me funny, sort of like how a dog looks at you when you do something they don't understand So... went on to a well known scientific research company here and tried to drill down into a department that specializes in optics... got a lot of good information and finally reached the company that does most of the optical coating for the country. Talked to the owner there, nice guy and all.... But got that "Never saw one of those before" feeling from him, but he said he would "Give it a go". Sent a 196 crystal to him, waited a few weeks, after a few phone calls, he informed me that they didn't have the right die to hold the crystal, so he sent it back... Now I'm not sure what kind of die they'd need to hold the crystal during the process, but I'd be willing to bet that it wouldn't have to be too high tech, probably just a hole in a piece of aluminum with a slightly larger hole in it to place the crystal. It would probably be pretty easy to make I didn't pursue it much further at the time due to time constraints, but I'm about to give it another try when I have some time. Hopefully this time it may work

That's the rotor that winds the mainspring... All automatic watches have a rotor so they wind when you move. The ETA Valjoux 7750 is even louder... Beautiful sound, isn't it?

Her face was a perfect oval, like a circle that had its two other Sides gently compressed by a Thigh Master. - Sue Lin Chong, Washington His thoughts tumbled in his head, making and breaking alliances like underpants in a dryer without Cling Free. -Chuck Smith, Woodbridge He spoke with the wisdom that can only come from experience, like a Guy who went blind because he looked at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it and now goes around the country speaking at high schools about the dangers of looking at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it. -Joseph Romm, Washington She caught your eye like one of those pointy hook latches that used to dangle from screen doors and would fly up whenever you banged the door open again. -Rich Murphy, Fairfax Station The little boat gently drifted across the pond exactly the way a bowling ball wouldn't. -Russell Beland, Springfield McMurphy fell 12 stories, hitting the pavement like a Hefty bag filled with vegetable soup. -Paul Sabourin, Silver Spring From the attic came an unearthly howl. The whole scene had an eerie, surreal quality, like when you're on vacation in another city and "Jeopardy" comes on at 7:00 p.m. instead of 7:30. -Roy Ashley, Washington Her hair glistened in the rain like nose hair after a sneeze. Chuck Smith,Woodbridge Her eyes were like two brown circles with big black dots in the center. -Russell Beland, Springfield Her vocabulary was as bad as, like, whatever. -Unknown He was as tall as a six-foot-three-inch tree. -Jack Bross, Chevy Chase The hailstones leaped from the pavement, just like maggots when you fry them in hot grease. -Gary F. Hevel, Silver Spring Long separated by cruel fate, the star-crossed lovers raced across the grassy field toward each other like two freight trains, one having left Cleveland at 6:36 p.m. traveling at 55 mph, the other from Topeka at 4:19 p.m. at a speed of 35 mph. -Jennifer Hart, Arlington The politician was gone but unnoticed, like the period after the Dr. on a Dr Pepper can. -Wayne Goode, Madison,AL John and Mary had never met. They were like two hummingbirds who had also never met. -Russell Beland, Springfield The thunder was ominous sounding, much like the sound of a thin sheet of metal being shaken backstage during the storm scene in a play.-Barbara Fetherolf, Alexandria The red brick wall was the color of a brick-red Crayola crayon.-Unknown He fell for her like his heart was a mob informant and she was the East River. -Brian Broadus, Charlottesville Even in his last years, Grandpappy had a mind like a steel trap, only one that had been left out so long it had rusted shut. -Sandra Hull, Arlington The door had been forced, as forced as the dialogue during the interview portion of "Jeopardy!" -Jean Sorensen, Herndon Shots rang out, as shots are wont to do. -Jerry Pannullo, Kensington The plan was simple, like my brother-in-law Phil. But unlike Phil, this plan just might work. -Malcolm Fleschner, Arlington The young fighter had a hungry look, the kind you get from not eating for a while. -Malcolm Fleschner, Arlington He was as lame as a duck. Not the metaphorical lame duck either, but a real duck that was actually lame. Maybe from stepping on a land mine or something. -John Kammer, Herndon Her artistic sense was exquisitely refined, like someone who can tell butter from I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. -Barbara Collier, Garrett Park She had a deep, throaty, genuine laugh, like that sound a dog makes just before it throws up. -Susan Reese, Arlington It came down the stairs looking very much like something no one had ever seen before. -Marian Carlsson, Lexington The knife was as sharp as the tone used by Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Tex.) in her first several points of parliamentary procedure made to Rep. Henry Hyde (R-Ill.) in the House Judiciary Committee hearings on the impeachment of President William Jefferson Clinton. -J. F. Knowles, Springfield The ballerina rose gracefully en pointe and extended one slender leg behind her, like a dog at a fire hydrant. -Jennifer Hart, Arlington The revelation that his marriage of 30 years had disintegrated because of his wife's infidelity came as a rude shock, like a surcharge at a formerly surcharge-free ATM. -Paul J. Kocak, Syracuse The dandelion swayed in the gentle breeze like an oscillating electric fan set on medium. -Unknown He was deeply in love. When she spoke, he thought he heard bells, as if she were a garbage truck backing up. -Susan Reese, Arlington Her eyes were like limpid pools, only they had forgotten to put in any pH cleanser. -Chuck Smith, Woodbridge She grew on him like she was a colony of E. coli and he was room-temperature Canadian beef. -Brian Broadus, Charlottesville She walked into my office like a centipede with 98 missing legs. -Jonathan Paul, Garrett Park Her voice had that tense, grating quality, like a first-generation thermal paper fax machine that needed a band tightened. -Sue Lin Chong, Washington It hurt the way your tongue hurts after you accidentally staple it to the wall. -Brian Broadus, Charlottesville

Rub it really slow and gently... circular motions may help. As it becomes looser, pick up the pace a bit. Licking it may help Maybe this belongs in the Miss Understood section

I've had/have a LOT of straps... V and myself share the same passion/sickness for these wonderful adornments for our watches. There are many factors that can make or break a watchstrap, one of the main thing I've found is that there are very few bad straps from great strapmakers and there are great straps that cost a whole lot less, BUT, you usually (and I use the term loosely) get what you pay for... Here are some examples... A few great straps for my better half, both made by Aaron HKTan, and he's done a wonderful job... Nice straight stitch on very difficult crocodile and perfect stitching on Louis Vuitton Vernis leather: Here are a few exotics that I ordered for myself... Besides being too light in color for my liking, this stuff (monitor lizard) has scales as hard as rocks and is very difficult to puncture, and impossible to make a straight line of holes for the stitching: Here's a bony croc also done by Aaron... Perfect stitch and a beautiful job... Had to sell as it was too small for me.. Got lost in the mail and now my PayPal account has a dispute hanging over it Here's a Horween shell cordovan in violet from Bruce... Shell cordovan is very fine horse hide and the quality from the makers of these fine straps is superb... Best you can get. Stick with BigB Bruce and Drew at Europelli and you can't go wrong: Here are a couple of OEMs... First, the ever elusive Tantalium OEM, or butterscotch, the next is Black Calf with 'Ecrue' stitch... calling it ivory would've been fine by me The quality is excellent, and you pay for it I must say although, that they aren't really anything over some of the aftermarket straps out there, but are simple and just plain made well... The quality is very consistent and you won't get a 'bad' one. Here's a Mario Paci Decima... The latest creation from the man himself... Beautiful leather, thick as a brick, smelly as a fine cigar, and beautifully supple... Hand made and just exudes quality... Big bickies for these, but well worth it IMHO: Here's a baseball glove strap from Drew at Europelli.... I can not say enough good about this man, from the quality of all his products to the service he is tops in my book... His prices are midrange, everything else is way beyond that. The baseball straps are some of my favourites, got a natural and a black... I have never worn a strap so soft And HERE's the strap that got V all hot and horny after seeing mine... He likes black on black, I like the black on tan. Jose (Jetan) from the Big Watch Boutique makes these as you wish, long or short, wide, narrow or tapered, you get what you want, but be prepared to wait. Great straps at a great price. I think this is one of the classiest out there IMO... Black Prada!!: And last, but surely not least, there are some here with great original ideas that can offer us some very cool stuff... Ideas by V, manufacturing by Aaron, two guys I consider my friends... My hat is off to you both All in all, you typically get good quality from the manufacturers, but a strap is a very personal thing, one man's strap is another man's rubbish (or vice versa or something like that) Sometimes you get less than what you thought, but you will live and learn, eventually I haven't seen too many 'really bad' straps out there, but there are some borderline.... Pick your dealer, then your strap... hmmmm, sounds familiar.

You say 6 'girls' in 8 months, and then you ask if 'women' like silk sheets... I suppose girls would like silk anything being used to flanel and walmart kiddy sheets There's a big difference between girls and women shady... Girls are easy to impress, one day you'll see that

But do we want to spend another 250+ for a new crystal? I will take a 212 AR coated when available And a 196 crystal AR coated And a 029 cruystal with correct cyclops AR coated And a 127 crystal AR coated

I would have gone home with the girls and taken care of the car in the mornin... But that's just me Some things can just wait It sucks that happened, but it could have been worse... Then again, maybe it was God's way of saving you from a night of pure bliss with a pair of transexual hookers Get the car fixed up, cheer up, and get your [censored] back to that club
