  1. We can go argueing forever. We have no proof of which of the pictured crowns are "genuine". We actually even lack a common/shared definition of "genuine crown". What about leaving this issue to a future time, when -- hopely -- we would have gathered more info, and welcoming next t48 crowns in the meanwhile? (btw, also the t60 are all but bad)
  2. Great suggestions here. I would add a full SS Cartier Pasha (not Seatimer). Among the many watches I made presents to my better half, this is the one she wears more often and gets more complimented. And also this one is not so bad:
  3. Yes, AR can get scratched, and even damaged by chemicals. And rep "AR" is even pathetic on this side. On the other hand, good AR like chieftang's and k2222's are pretty hard. Chieftang's AR (and I suppose also k2222's) meets military specs, i.e. it can be hitten with 20 strokes of pumice-stone without showing any sign of damage. This classifies it as more scratch resistant than mineral glass, even if lesser than sapphire. An even smarter solution is putting the AR only on the inner surface of the crystal. Panerai style. :1:
  4. Well, I checked my 2002 to 2006 OP catalogues, and all the luminors seem to have 12 teeth in 1/4 circle, both handwind and auto, either with or without complications (GMT, PR). I cannot assure all they are not 13 teeth, but I am pretty positive they are not 15.
  5. All in all, this is revealing as an exciting research. I wonder whether 'risti even have a clue about it.
  6. Really thanks, t, but no problem here. I took both 0.90 and 1.20 crowns. My post was just a suggestion to 7750 owners to check their stem diameter before choosing which crown to order. BTW, if you are going to make t48 crowns too I will take them as well. And if you are going to also make them PVD, I will take two of those too.
  7. ??? The only auto movement where you can use a 1.2 crown is the 7750, and if it is a rep 7750 then you still have to replace the stem as the "original" stem is 0.90. All other auto movements in PAM reps (2892-A2, 2893, 2836, DG3809, DG3886, ST2530) have 0.90 stems.
  8. Different crown thickness, yes. But different number of teeth, very unsure.
  9. Asian & Swiss mixed. This is the best you can get. No 100% Swiss movement has a dagger swan neck other than those from Officine Panerai.
  10. Thanks, Z3. Actually, the ESA 7750 stem (ref. 51.010.23) is 1.20, but, as you said, the 7750 reps rather seem to often use 0.9 stems. What leaves us 7750 rep owners quite unsure on which t crown to order -- unless we open our watches, remove the crown+stem, and measure the stem diameter.
  11. There are modders even among gen owners! Cool!
  12. 3/4/500$?... 1500$?? Wow! When I said it's worth, I did not suppose such figures. Uhm... Considering that gen 028 go @10-13 k$ on auctions, and that a 2892-A2 028 rep is a 99.9% rep once it is re-PVDed, new cyclops, new DW, and new crown installed (all in all well over 1k$), I think that I might accept to spend up to 300$ more for the sake of bringing it to 99.99%. On a 027, that cannot go over 99% accuracy due to the lack of recessed PR scale, and that is less expensive to mod as it is not PVD, even 300$ weigh more on the total cost and are less effective on the final result. So I think in this case I would pass. Still, that watch is a beautiful watch.
  13. Tested the fit of t crowns on DSN 44mm auto cases -- a SS case and a Ti case. They fit. The outer diameter of the crown tube (I mean the tube attached to the crown, where the stem gets screwed in) is 1.92 - 1.94mm on the t crown, 2.00mm on the DSN crown. Those 6-8 hundredths of mm are not enough to make a misfit. The t crown enters into the case tube and it stays firm enough. But the lever of the DSN crown guard just touchs the t crown center, it does not firmly press on it. Evidently, the inner thickness of the t crown is lower than that of the DSN crown. The result is a floppy lever in the closed position. On the Ti case it was just slightly floppy, on the SS case it was definitely floppy -- differences due to tolerances, I suppose. ---- Also, verified the diameter of the 7750 stem (t recommended 1.20 crowns for 7750 movements). It is 0.90mm, not 1.20.
  14. Thanks! They did not come cheap, but I think that a correct central seconds hand like that you have there is worth. Congrats once again!
  15. I disagree. Rxus did not say "this watch", he said "this skyland". As his watch was not a skyland, it was a rep, he could as well being meaning "this model of watch", "a skyland of this kind". Actually, Rxus did not undoubtly affirm that his watch was a gen. The matter is on the meaning of "this", whether it was a specific "this" (this watch) or a generic "this" ("this model"). Noone else than himself can know it, and maybe not even himself. I would consider it a lack of precision rather than a blatant lie and would live with it at no or very few conscience problems. Making the whole thing bigger than it actually is might make the other part wonder about Rxus' mental health more than about his honesty.
  16. An absolute beauty! Congrats, wear it well! May I ask where did you find gen hands for it?
  17. PO: Hammers: LV: Fox: Longimanus: We also encountered a couple of grey sharks, but no successful shots...
  18. E-F-G series decorated movements (paneraipaneraipanerai) with dagger swan neck are out of production and they are getting rarer (and costly, if you can find one) each day. Btw, doc, sausage vs sandwich and G decoration vs H decoration are a lot of difference in PAM models. You fill find different PAM models with very few differences than that.
  19. Please forgive my poor English understanding. Do you mean that the stem should get almost entirely screwed in? I doubt it. DSN crown and case tubes are quite peculiar in diameter. But my t-crowns already are on their way to me, and I'll try one of them on my DSN 104 -- same case as DSN 088. Just, I'll be able to test it only on early September due to incoming holiday time.
  20. P8B, you'd better brake your enthusiasm and start reading, or you may end up with wasting your money. The 1st watch you linked in your latest post has exactly the same recessed pin, and needle and non-swan-neck regulator that jitai warned you about. Did you make a search about these issues? The 2nd watch... logo models and PVD models have their special issues... better searching about them too. I am not suggesting that price is not fair for those watches. It actually is. Just, you may lately discover that those were not the watches you actually wanted, if you jump on them with no preparation and without even listening at the hints you asked for.
  21. You won't find me on your way, Dani. At those prices I will leave them where they are.
  22. Great! I love them! Anyway, those are better -- and they write better -- than most physicians in my country. Just, the one on suicides is absolutely true. Actually, 90% of suicides don't work -- i.e., 90% of suicides really do not want to put an end to their life.
