  1. Awesome! Please, what does "shaved down, split" precisely mean?
  2. mmmmm.... Even if '13 gobbi' is out. 'Latini' is in!
  3. I decided not to enter into auction when I found it was @ 200 GBP. By the way, I know it is the Angelus of the poor, but some time ago I won this one.
  4. Archibald is our undisputed master on print issues. He could provide with some enlightning inputs.
  5. I can confirm. Lello tried and succeeded. Just heat (a flame) and the three pieces - the two crystal layers and the cyclops - came apart. Then, quite a bit of glue and some attention not to get air bubbles between the two layers while reassembling. I think I'm going to try the same on the next few days...
  6. Great! no better tradeoff between magnification and distortion could be achieved. This is a masterpiece. Congrats! (I'm also glad for that little devil who insisted about the importance of low distortion... )
  7. Really It actually looks a PVD Fiddy...
  8. Stay tuned Brian, today I disassembled my 104, and tomorrow it is supposed to get a new cyclops...
  9. BTW, which model the guy on the 1st two shots is wearing?
  10. As you already know, a 203 got sold @ 77,000 USD last september in a Hong Kong Sotheby's auction. So 100,000 USD is inside the market. Bur 1M, I agree, is a promotion action. Tourbillion, I seem to remember that you once said that the Angelus 240 is [censored]...
  11. It's months now that I am constantly checking eBay for 24-mm 'Panerai' buckles. No luck so far.
  12. I usually push the crown before closing the lever. But sometimes I feel that the crown does not push-in properly, and only on those occasions I try with the lever too. Honestly, I do not think this is an issue.
  13. Hi chieftang, just to let you know that the cyclopses arrived safe and sound into my hands. At a first glance they are awesome. Thanks again for putting this together! More feedback to follow. (FIY, I tried to send you this via PM, but got this error:) This message can not be sent because the recipient has their personal messenger disabled or they are in a member group not allowed to use the personal messenger. 14. Anyone else here is currently experiencing great troubles in connecting to UK websites?
  15. god? A three letter word word with no meaning. A superfluous hypothesis. Religion? In the best case, an illusion. In the worst case, a symptom of a(n even widespread) mental disorder. (Yes, this post is offensive and ready for deletion... After all, it's just an old story). @Phoband: Pho, I am amazed. Dawkins! You might have a bro-in-mind here. Just a little more angry.
  16. Apologies for my English, I was meaning 'inexpensive' rather than 'cheap'. Bob's inexpensive straps sold on eBay are inexpensive exactly because they are thin, not because of poor quality. Quality is not amazing, but not bad either. Quite fair quality for the price. I got a Bob inexpensive shark strap and got disappointed because I love thick straps, but as you like thin straps maybe they are worth a look.
  17. Great! I love it! Just IMHO cats are not such touchy and inconclusively paranoical. On a second though, the writer looks in perfect knowledge of dog psychology, but quite poor about cats. Believe me. I missed a cat spermatozoon and got a human one just by a hair's breadth.
  18. Make a search on eBay for 'bob' + 'strap'. The cheapest ones are thin.
  19. Thanks for the clarification. BTW, awesome post! (...as usual from you..)
  20. @dark: yes, I too feel we'll never have a rep of this. Still, dreaming is no hurt... @flavor: definitely it's just the photo
  21. Sorry to post a probably dumb question, but I got completely confused... Are we speaking here of 2836-2 or 2824-2 movements?
  22. Wonderful! Thanks for sharing your experience on color mixing.
