the contest is due to kick off toward or after the end of the month. Well, if there are an adequate number of members , perhaps we can add another division that uses 35mm lenses ... I believe freddy333 uses one.. and his images are incredible.. very unique ... planned .. thoughtout and very creative art. let's keep tabs on this .. as I would really like to get as much participation as possible and we deal with vintge watches .. why not camera's too going a step further.. images in black and white would do well with these camera's what do you guy's think ?? Well, we all know how challenging taking pics with a phone shutter can be ! and I have come across some amazing shots from our members using their iphone etc. As I would like this contest to be all "inclusive" .. what better challenge than to be able to enter this division, not everyone has a camera.. but everyone has at least a cell camera ... this division just may turn out to be a surprise (sleeper).. thinking about it, this early am... there is no problem for you to enter 2 divisions.. Novice or Open (advanced).. and then the Cell division.. Aloha R

Pugs has nothing to prove ... ergo he will "set" the parameters.. that every contestant will manditorally adhere to .. so photoshop may have parameters so members have to rely on skills and not computer savy... this is what will make it pure ... competition ! edit add: .. the rest of the Judges will be announce later... as of this time.. I ask that no communication with Judges be allowed... a lot is at stake and this contest will be a true shootout..

It is my privilege to announce an upcoming event that is open to all registered members !! RWG is proud to announce it's Inaugural Photo Shootout ~ A Competition to test your photography skills and a time to show off your timepieces, and your "Art" with a camera ! Prizes will be awarded to the winners and all images will be considered for a planned RWG Calendar ! There are so many members here with talent and skill with a camera .. needless to mention an imagination for some awesome Art Work ! We have decided to put these skills and your images to a "fun for all" Contest. The format for this contest is in the works.. I'm not letting on before the official start... we don't want anyone to start ahead of time.. and most importantly... It's free !! without any entree fee !!.. we have a reserve from our raffles to keep us going for a portion of the summer.. so this is a way to join in some healthy comeradery ... and also.. see what photo's we can use for a "planned" RWG Calendar !! All that is required is for the contestant to be a registered member of RWG.. everyone is welcome to enter.. And I say Prize(s) as we are giving away a treasure trove of goodies.... Kenberg and the rest of the Admin Team have collected some awesome prizes,.. and would like to give those prizes away !!! There will be a panel of Judges .. and the contest will be a "Round Robin" .. elimination format .. There will be separate divisions according to experience with the Len's, so weather you are a Novice or a seasoned Expert ... there is room for all to enter. You don't have a camera?? There may be room for a phone camera division ... OH.. before I forget ... Pugwash will head the panel of Judges.. Pug being the "Professor" of RWG's photo lab.. it will be Pug that will set the parameters for the images to be submitted.. and guide the panel of Judges on the rules for grading the images. that's all that will be given out at this time.. so don't worry about taking any photo's now.. because the type of photo (mandatory) will be announced to everyone at the same time. .. and it "may" include a certain object to be intertwined in the image.. so everyone gets the same lead time.. Rules and time allotted will be announced.. I plan to begin soon after the ending of the Upgrade/referral raffle.. which is due to finish toward the end of the month.. We are excited as this is the time to work on taking your best of the best pics !!! I hope to see everyone competing !! .. and having fun !! Also the winners will receive a virtual trophy to display on their signature ... bragging rights for 2009 RWG Shooter 2009 We hope to see everyone from the wrist shots, and those that don't post pics often join in!! True 2... I don't know where the "matte" dial originated.. I never viewed the genuine pics and translated the dial as "matte" and it looks even more so(glossy) due to the "coke bottle" thickness of the domed xtal. regardless .... the pics of the genuine watch in my post were the same ones used in the pictorial review.. and were out long before the replication was released. After much debate with my dealer.. and to his credit .. on his current trip to China.. requested the genuine dial and the rep dial be photographed as a side by side. the issue of the fused dial.. has to do with the wider date window (I need to clariy that point with him) .. but the cost of doing this was at first unacceptable to the maker.. but being that there is (for whatever reason) no way around it .. our dealer has convinced him this is a "must" for the DSSD.. I was wrong when I stated that "I can live with the Date Window".. .. wasn't the first time.. and probably won't be the last either.. Aloha R

I have yet to come across a genuine pic that shows beyond a doubt that the dial is matte.. and not "semi glossy" look at the pic and notice the reflection on the date window bevel.. the thickness of the crystal also adds to the look of the dial being somewhat more glossy than it is.. but I do believe it is 'semi' glossy.. but I will be going to the AD this week.. now that I can wear a genuine.. seemed out of place in the pass to enter wearing nothing and having a tan line on my wrist. look at the dial comparison on the start of the thread.. the genuine and replication look equal... but again the colour is distorted on both due to brightening the image for detail.. @MM.. thank you .. your support is always appreciated !! aloha L
