When I first got active in the forum .. and ran into a wall of fire .. Z stepped up to the plate for someone he really didn't know and acted out of coutesy and honour.. for this I will be forever gratful for the spirit of not only the best horologist I know .. but also for a truly "Honourable Gentleman!" Well, what I've decided to do is let the 5517 age naturally .. since my 1680 and 1665 DSRD have taken on many scratches.. I remember almost each one and now the timepiece has it's "own" history with me.. Have you ever scratched your Daytona's freddy?.. with your sense of "order" and pristine vintage watches .. I'll assume you hyperventilate, and break out in cold sweat with any sign of scaring on the watch .. a little OCD .. humor.. This makes sense since the 5517 seems built for Nato or Zulu straps.. so do tell us when "you" build your 5517 and can post pics of your welded bars.. I will leave mine as is for versatility.. the 5517 goes nicely with all the colours of the Nato and Zulu's

Yes I am really appreciating the "research" end of the project.. as so many things surface relating to not only the tech end but the different stories regarding the origin and initial use of the 1655 .. it is all good for "healthy" discussion.. but as everyone.. the anticipation is where it is exciting after the reward of the "Hunt" itself.. but without members such as TMG.. and UBI (for other upcoming projects) .. being pointed in the right direction is essential .. then of course the post project .. (like the end of football season).. you can't wait until the next one.. .. but I won't "future f_ _ k this one as it is to savoir.. That is the art of the "research" side... now it is in the hands of the real "Artist"... Ziggy's work is really "God Given".. like an athlete.. who has moves that cannot be "learned" .. but are gifted from another dimension or sphere.. I just hope I got things right on my ends...

Thanks JJ.. and DP.. wonder if theres a way to "stain" the white font and ticks.. I'm tempted to do that on another dial.. there is a blemish on the dial from MBK.. Chris of course is replacing it.. so I may try the hobby shop and see if the white cannot be stained to give it a vintage look.. the white jus looks to "new".. Ziggy's work is alway's masterful .. if not for his lume .. well,.. the dial would look so plain..

5517 Ziggy lume .. CG mod .. gen. Crown ... gen. tropic 19 crystal .. if you think the insert is too faded.. it's cause I did it.. There is one thing that needs to be done.. when I feel the courage... it needs some dents in the case and scratches in the crystal.. this is not the gilt dial that makes the dial look more vintage .. but I like it jus the same.. thanks in advance for viewing.. What was missing.. was a Black Zulu Strap.. wow.. it really brings out the beauty of Ziggy's lume and improves the overall Look .. the silver in the bracelet jus does not match.. IMO Definately the Zulu or Nato for this one..

I am on the road until late this afternoon.. but I will try taking pics of what I am referring to (as far as the problem I had) .. I am not by any means an expert but both my reps had the same problem which leads me to believe that if there are 2 identical issues with the movement .. it could be more than jus my 2 reps.. one of the 2 (arms) above the mainspring .. seems like,.. this caught onto the balance wheel.. anyway I will try to get pics up today or tomorrow.. and then Ziggy (if we are lucky) can comment on it.. cause like I said .. if it happened on both my movements,.. and they are running fine now.. there has to be some issue they need to iron out with the working regulator on the new A7750 Cheers.. I hope things don't change with the New Administration in place ...with all the economic cut backs in "man Power" .. we here in the islands see things taking a little loner (not by much) since we depend soley on air and ocean vessels for "all" our goods .... The only thing to remember to "never do" is answer any letters (if you recieve any) from customs .. or call them asking any questions at all.. if sending watches for repair back to China.. list the goods as "costume jewelry accessory " .. gift.... and value @10 usd.. do not list as "watch" or "repair" You may be in jepordy of loosing the timepiece if these issues are deviated from...

always declare as "gift" .. "costume jewelry accessory" .. value 10 usd .. there should be no problem .. getting there with the dates mentioned is extremely fast even for express .. I wouldn't worry to much you should have word from the dealer soon Cheers L

there will be a updated version of the 5004 but it has not been released as of yet.. should be by the same Maker as the 5002 .. I'm waiting on that one fo sure..
