  1. thanks for the pics R.. looks like your getting used to your lens.... another gem to your collection Aloha R
  2. Sadly .. there will always be members or people that think they are smarter and slicker than the advice and rules that govern our hobby.. customs in the last year has gotten more rigid.. I went to the Rolex AD when the GMTIIc came out.. no brochures anymore.. they stated due to counterfiets.. they are suspicious .. you read post of members comparing the rep and genuine at the AD.. sheesh... We can post warnings until your fingers cramp.. and members who don't care will keep doing what they do.. usually members IMo that don't give a crap about us to begin with.. I really think this is why the makers don't make the "perfect" replication.. if that ever happened .. shit will hit the preverbial fan fo sure..
  3. Ziggy's work takes the air out of everything that surrounds it... awesome Jojo. !! simply awesome ~
  4. after I got the black dial it is recieving more wrist time than the grey.. The black really is deep with the AR coating which is one of the better ones.. the plum hue is really great and the black tends to really define the markers and numerals.. I tried the HK gator on it but prefer the calf .. buffalo would look great also ..both with the white stiching.. Enjoy your watch MP.. !! it must look great with the genuine gator.. did you post pics ?.. I would love to see um .. Aloha~Cheers R
  5. No doubt there will be subtle differences with the "Genuine" .. it's unrealistic to think that it would be identical under close scrutiny.. but I took issue with the subs being silver .. I guess it would depend on the angle and the lighting in an angle they could appear silver .. but viewing the dial straight on and to me they are grey.. but again .. not worth the debate.. it is a replication . Yes .. I have noticed a very nice Plum colour to the AR.. actually it seems the black dial brings out the plum hue much better than the grey.. soon I will do a side by side with the black and grey dials.. right now Hawaii and Mexico are playing for the Little League Championship
  6. Well .... the subdials on my grey dial rep are definately not silver.. they are a darker shade of grey.. it may not be as matte as the genuine.. but definately not silver as the black dial subs are.. the genuine may be more of a matte finish but still appears to have 2 different reflective colours .. the rep also does this .. but MP we are talking about a "replication".. if you are searching for zero inconsistencies then you will alway's find fault.. but as far as the replication .. i believe the maker did a great job on the sub rings..
  7. Actually... the ratchet does not need to be removed... there are spring bars that holds the strap to the clasp at both ends.. release these and cut the strap accordingly..remember to cut it big .. then adjust with the ratchet....
  8. Sunday .. this Have a restful Sunday ALL !!
  9. Hope this thread answers some questions.. since it took hours to compose.. may as well use it..
  10. oops well that's the pic you sent me.. whose hairy arm is that then ?? 'll delete the arm since it does not belong to you.. edit add.. I'll jus bump my pictorial up getting dizzy going back and fourth.,.
  11. Refer to the pictorial of the gun metal dial.. it is very dark grey .. and this was taken in bright photo lighting.. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=79117 some pics from that review.. Replication.. the genuine is to the far left.. in light it will morph to light silver.. as does the replication.. well done actually with a little more sunlight on the rep it would have been as the genuine..
  12. I have both the gunmetal dial and the black.. and the sub rings on the genmetal dial if viewed straight on is as the dial dark grey at an angle int ehlight they morph to more silver although a darker silver than the black dial which is true silver anyway you look at it.. I really don't have the energy today for a side by side comparison pictorial .. perhaps sometime this week..
  13. I'll do a side by side ASAP with the Grey and the Black dials....
  14. there is a site that sells aftrer market mesh bracelets .. I remember one member procured one and it fit.. looked good .. I have been meaning to google for it.. give it a shot it's out there somewhere.. may be in EU.. good luck !!
  15. Tried that Andreww .. it may be sometning is wrong with my clasp .. Joshua say's push and the clasp releases outward.. the strap is so comfortable .. I really want to get it on my wrist.. Checked with Josh.. you can order just the strap from him... I'm getting one for my Heritage Blue dial.. the non chrono version..it suits the piece better than gator or leather in IMO.. some don't realize that it takes 50 or more shots to come out with the proper ones to use.. it's not a simple aim and shoot.. I'm still learning .. I don't have the images where I want them yet .. but I'm getting there.. .. whatever equipment you have .. sometimes it's the "singer not the song" .. but Nikon is my choice.. some are more comfortable with Cannon ... regardless it still takes hours whatever you use.. I actually think the Chrono has more of a personality over the regular Heritage.. but then again like you that's just my opinion..
  16. I believe the strap needs to be taken out from the end of the clasp that holds the pushers to release the other end.. but how.. that is the Q it will not release from the end onm the left side in the pic.. the ratchets won't allow that.. but how to slide it out the other end on the right of the pic... this would mean taking apart the pushers.. or am I incorrect in assuming this ??
  17. Thank you all.. !!.. it is IMO one of the best of 08 ... but this year has been incredible.. the comfort of the strap is unbelievable ! I am jus too tired to do an extended write up .. but I think I hit all the key issues... I'll let the pics speak for themselves .. personally I like the black dial for this version... hard to go wrong with the accuracy in colour... the brown IMO would be "iffy" as the SOH non chrono was questionable..the Blue should be correct.. but the black jus is really dynamic to my eye's I cannot release the clasp on the ratchet end to cut and adjust the strap.. it is held in place with the spring bar .. but after pushing the proper button on the clasp it still will not release..dunno. ?? the chinese puzzle factor maybe... I'll try when I am rested
  18. Friday..
  19. Thank you Ubi... TMG.. and again Tribal.. now I have a hard time lookinb at the other vintage reps that rob already did his art work on.. it jus does not match with the very BLACK insert.. I practiced with the out of the box insert that came with the NBK..now I can order the pearl and do the deal with the better insert.. can't wait.. thanks to you guy's..
  20. Super Ocean Heritage Chrono.. If your wondering about the SOH Chrono.. "Don't".. this is one rep that is worth the price IMO... the all around quality is done much better than previous Breitling reps.. remember I say "all around" what I mean is that it may not be perfect but certain areas such as the engraving and AR have been much improved.. the movement is a A7750 .. no noise rotor.. The Sharpness of the ticks and markers are well documented !!.. I am impressed with the neatness of the hands as far as the lume.. which needs charging btw.. the lume dots to the naked eye appears spot on.. Pushers crown and all the machined parts are excellent !! ... Bezel clicks great !!.. no looseness and very strict and positive in the clicks.. no sharp edges in the finish.. the Date Font is neat and printed and centered well.. no sliding in the Wheel either. The rubber strap is so comfortable and the clasp has a ratchet mechanism to adjust as your wrist swells .. but I have to figure out how to detach the strap from the ratchet end to cut and adjust .. btw.. the strap needs to be cut to size .. same as the Porsche flat 6 and Paul Picot Divers .. For this model I am happy I choose the Black dial it really brings out the subs and markers.. Thank you to Joshua ~ Perfect Clones.. shipping seems back to normal with China now.. All in all I am very happy with this buy.. if I can figure how to adjust it .. it will get major wrist time.. Hope the Pics help you..Enjoy and thanks for viewing... in advance..
  21. Conversely ... I feel the same way around computer geeks...so the truth is it really doesn't matter how much you lift or how big you are,... only a jerk would make a comment.. honestly Corgi if someone was 100 lbs. sopping wet, it wouldn't matter to us.. and could only bench press 50 lbs. it wouldn't bother me or the others (and some of them are world record holders) one bit .. as long as you knew some gym "etiquette".. everyone has they're own level of training for different purposes ... everyone has their own goals... we are trying to hold on until a "HUI".. consortium.. of members opens our own place again... inevitable we will not see some members anymore... but this is life... the memories are there and fortunately very good ones... Nothing in life is guaranteed ... except death and taxes.. @TT .. sheesh.. Bill Pearl his pic is on the wall in the front room.. from a magazine from I believe the 60's .. he must be in his 80's by now..
  22. It really does sound like a protein bar... but Congrats on the PM..PB..
  23. I am so sorry man... been there too... only time will heal..
