I'm revisiting this thread because I remembered something that should be noted.. I sent my 6497 DSN movement along with my 202A project and was informed that it was an ETA 6497 and not an Asian clone.. my point "was" if it were not an eta I wasn't going to have it serviced.. which brings me to look at this thread again.. and viewing the OP's claimed Ti .. I question the validity of the Pam 005 in the OP's post with pics of his Rep. being a titanium case. .. reason being,is..... a member asked me to oxidize his Ti case a couple of years ago.. and the only parts on the case that would oxidize was the pushers.. ergo the case was not Ti at all but aluminum.. it was not by one of our dealers..and was passed off as Ti. so .."IF".. the OP's rep is actually not Ti... that would be rather funny.. accusing one of our dealers to be somewhat dishonest and having bought a fake Ti "replication",..and claiming that we pay too much for reps.. the colour of the metal does not appear to me anyway.... to be Ti..in the OP's pics.. Too funny.. AC/Lani

Today UPS has to deliver over 2 million parcels.. gives you an idea of the load.. on line shopping has reached new heights.. Our retailers in Hawaii are experiencing better Holiday sales than expected.. due to the furloughs the State workers are having.. instead of staying home they shop.. but I am getting a little antsy regarding my money order mailed to the east coast going on 2 weeks now.. nad it took over a week for a watch I mailed out to get tot he west coast.. sheesh.. patience.. is burning energy at times

I equate being able to remove and replace watch movements as "freedom from bondage".. and no longer being "held hostage" there will always be that annoying lume dust .. specs on the dial or crystal that can drive you mad.. Wanna get your crystal to Chief for AR?? Swap crystals?? whatever.. here's a link for you .. and if I can do it.. you can too.. For those of you who have a "fear factor".. and are doubting your ability to remove your movement.. it is quite simple .. and with the minimal basic tools.. like from > Watch Bitz you'll have the "Freedom" to do so many things.. but imo .. if you learn anything for our hobby.. this is essential.. I have long come to expect things like lume dust.. crooked markers (that can be an easy fix) and all other minor issues that could really mess with a nice rep.. I had a member walk me through my first attempt.. so I was fortunate in there was 1 pic and 1 paragraph.. as my attention span is wanting at times.. here is a link.. please use it, as I cannot stress how much more enjoyable this hobby is when issues can be resolved without the hassle of exchange.. and the time it takes to ship the rep back and forth to china.. or paying your local watch smith to straighten a marker.. or just pure frustration in viewing that %+@#O(&%..dust on the dial.. and you try and stare it away ..you all know what I'm talkin bout... Go here> Removing watch movements Good Luck and happy Horology to All AC/Lani

"I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness or abilities that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer it or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again." William Penn Edit to Add:.. so True Arthur.. no matter who we talk to above.. it all goes tot the same address..

The date font may be a tell also.. the eta uses a flat 4 .. but agree opening the back to view the movement will determine fo sure if it's an eta.. look for the reviews on how to determine this denz.. and ask for help if you need it..

if you save it in "Pictures".. albums.. you can view the pic.. and use various programs to re-size it.. crop.. correct colour etc. like crop the second pic to look like this..
-
it is a beautiful piece.. the one thing that would make me jump at the rep is if they could get the vulcanized rubber on the rep.. I wouldn't mind the minor flaws but that black of the vulcanized rubber cannot be replicated through even the pvd.. Regardless.. it is an ey catcher.. enjoy the rep AC/Lani

Well,.. I started taking Gingko.. for memory....and I forget what else it's for.. . . .East coast ..West coast.. same difference.. you still live on the Big.. Big Island

what I do pete is save it to my files (pictures).. resize the image and upload it to my Image Shack.. (it's free).. I chose the 8.00 usd per month subscription.. I have more options.. it's faster for me to post pics on the board..I then copy the URL and paste it on the post.. so after resizing for the board it looks like this This is the biggest I will go for the forum images.. otherwise the pics will be just too big for the post.. imo.. Tis the Season for all things in the pipeline to slowwwww down considerably.. it is out of anyone "control" and we are at the mercy of the Postal Service.. being that what it is now with the cutbacks and closures of PO units.. things have slowed to a crawl.. I sent a Priority mail to the east coast 10 day's ago and it still has not arrived.. and I am in the USA
