  1. Indeed, just as I expected and dead right: PURRRRFECT !! Thanks Victoria.
  2. Right, black croc is the 'usual suspect' but I really like it on this custom brown strap as worn by Jason Statham in Transporter:
  3. Ah, I wonder how Victoria's 183 looks on this recently purchased 27/22 of hers ?! Victoria, do you have pics?
  4. Now I just came across these pics. Too bad for me they are on a site with some for me unreadable lingo... But I'll carry-on !!
  5. Thanks Victoria! I do agree that the darker colours do the dial more good. Like I said, I have seen RAVAGES' 183 on a OEM honey croc/gator and on a 26/22 chocolate TWB with white stichting. On that dark TWB the 183 looks great! Maybe I should not go for the match but go for the contrast and look-up the burgundy with gold threat. That one actually would also look great on a goldplated 231 (that was presented so well recently that you want to have it too...) !! I think the dial would not pop but BURST !!! ...I could not find a 27/22 yet, but will gooogle on some more...
  6. I am considering a PAM183. My good friend RAVAGE has a DSN with chocolate brown leather strap/white stitching. Now I just bought some new shoes and belt to go with a sharp dressy Italian suit. The colour can best be described as cherry wood or dark honey. Displayed with a colour reference card and on top of my cherry wood furniture. In comparsion with the actual honey Please advise me on a nice 26/24 strap. BTW: I liked Victorias pictorial on the so called Jules Verne, but it might be too light. THANX !!
  7. YEP, has been my all-time favourite ever since I saw it and the first rep I ordered. Oder got lost in the mail and TT sent me this old-school version that he must have had lying around. Palpatine corrected a lume defect ('dent' at 9) by reluming it. I am wearing it as we speak and have finally asked K2222 to treat it with AR !! (love knowing about the special HE-valve position)

  9. Maybe a strap like this one could do double service ?? If only somebody knew who sells these straps... (looks much like the Sirtolli's, but the colour is nicer) Hmmm, like this XVI very much as well, ... bought my 3717 mabe too soon ?!!
  10. One of my dressy favourites is definitely my Portuguese. It is still OK with running seconds at 6. Although it probably needs servicing since it needs more and more wristmovement compared to near 'instantaneous' running ETA's to keep it running on the first day of wearing. It has been on a black gator for quite some time, until I recently cleaned up some closets and found what once was a brown leather ('Apollo'?) replacement strap for a Fossil watch. Now I was surprised that this bit tanned colour and fine cream stitching matches the Porto so well. Only to be bummed that it is a 18mm version... Who knows any strap that comes close but is 20mm? Next is my brand new 3717 from Preious Time. (Although I always said I would only buy one model per brand, I could not resist this one.) It put it straight out of the box on a black G10, but due to AR the dial is not black enough to make it speak to me on the NATO. So I put it on my black gator. But..., same problem as before: 20mm is not 21mm... Now I'm anxious for my order at Aaron Tan to arrive: a distressed brown leather 21mm pilot strap!!! So here some shots of my black and white IWC pair.
  11. If you wear this daily... You most likely drive one of these black/PVD monsters
  12. THANX Ravage! ...The more souls in RWG, the more fun and topics right! Your DSN 183 with chocolate TWB strap will probably lead to a 'twin' for me somewhere soon CU !!
  13. Thanks jdkno for this informative reply and the other angle on the intended use of different types of lume!! Seems that the Military came a long way from hazardous phosphor/radium to tritium tubes that does not give away their most precious resources...

  15. You're right, but that's why I asked to reply with your own pics; so here it is
  16. I forgot some more eyecandy pics I collected: Here is the KHS black Tactical Shadow Blue MKII with the rare blue tritium lume: And the Traser H3 Classic Chrono BD Pro Blue: And a popular upcoming name in sporty watches: Hamilton, with their X-Wind line:

None of the pictures are made by me, since at the time of writing this topic I was searching for a suitable black watch. I gathered all information below on the net. Thanks to By-Tor for my (blatant) copy of his excellent disclaimer
  18. WOW, looks stunning on G10, I bet this is a 22mm version?! Just ordered a 3717 from PT. I hope it will arrive before the Chinese new year holidays start... Also trying to get this strap from HKTAN: I think I will like this more 'old school' strap more than a plain black croc. Although black with white stitching (like from TWB) could be great as well...
  19. Just encountered this swiss watch with Valjoux 7750 movement. I would like a rep of it, but the gen's market value is propably too low (CHF 1,895.00) for dealers/factories. Louis Erard - Chrono 1931 "Fitted with a Valjoux 7750 movement, the Chrono 1931 is offered in two versions. The silvered model, very elegant and stylish, has a certain brilliance that is pleasantly toned down by the chocolate-coloured strap. The black dial and strap version plays on the neutrality of the tone to strengthen the contrasts." P.s. Another one (with the same movement) in black from this line looks great (but familiar!) as well:
  20. Thanks guys for the tips!! The side by side review on the other board was awesome. Nice to see the 210 on some other-than-black straps! Also the other base model, the 112, lures again (as it did already when deltatahoe praised it in an earlier 'my collection' topic... ;-))) I will be contacting DSN soon
  21. Great to hear that!!! Can you tell if the 210 has been modded in any way by DSN ? What colour Ammo do you recommend; black or natural/tan?
  22. Ahhh, now I have seen the Black Seal rep in person I know I really want the PAM 210 with a nice Thewatchboys strap!! Personally I think it is more pure, but hey, most of the community still prefer the Black Seal. Now I can't find any reviews on dealers for the Radiomir Base. E.g. does Davidsen have an equally great (modded?) 210 compared to his modded 183 ? Anybody out there want to help me?
  23. Yep and lots of people jam in their 22mm straps with success; even strap dealers advice it sometimes (I found out after contacting them about pics in their web shops)! Some carry the 21mm lug width straps though in their assortment (mostly curved-end straps)...
