  1. My Porto dresswatch on a gen black alligator leather strap (great patina now after one year!!!) And here my earlier contribution in a gen (left) - rep (right) comparison:
  2. After writing the report I confidently went shopping for a nice G10, ... only to find Timefactors closed for summer holidays... But this last week I ordered and received my black G10 with brushed SS metal. I put it on my Chopard Mille Miglia and I think it looks great. The black of the dial is more intense on the black nylon as compared to the greyish rubber tire pattern strap. It will do nicely for leisure time.
  3. Actually it was in the 'Schuttershofstraat' and close vicinity.
  4. Last weekend I did a casual wristcheck in the more luxurious shopping area of Antwerp in Belgium. Now I expected a lot of bling bling in 'the city of diamonds' but I was surprised that w/i a period of 20 minutes I spotted at least five Rolex Submariner Two Tones with black dial. I must say it is not as 'loud' as I would expect and looks great with a suit! I do not see it much in RWG's 'My Collection' area though. Anybody got a good rep and care to share a (wristhot)pic here?!
  5. I humbly cherish the thought I might find it 'pinned' one day...
  6. Gio, great collectionand eyecandy detailed pics. P.s. the edges of the Daytona bracelet look sharper than the slightly rounded ones on the Subs; is that so and/or up to gen spec? Do the J12; my wife has worn it non-stop since I gave it to her 3 months ago! I doubted between a diamond bezel version and plain SS bezel. Chose the SS bezel and did not regret it. It looks awesome on a sun tanned skin.
  7. Please post a Pic of that brown beauty My favourite is the rubber strap; but a topquality sporty black/grey sharkskin would look great too! (the new unused leather camel strap is just laying around...)
  8. Thanks!! I learn a little everyday I edited some CWC issue watches pics in.
  9. One of my daily beaters is my Tag Link GMT. The comfortable bracelet, the black tuxedo/wafer dial and the shiny bezel and hour markers that reflect the light make it a great rep for me. But now you're all getting these Carreras and Aquaracers I really start wondering if they could be something for me too!! So I played around a bit with MS Paint and an animated gif tool to get an idea of what variations I could make with a black and white Tag. I LIKE IT !!!!! (...ok, not the quality of the .JPG to .GIF conversion, but hey...) The look pretty suitable for a lot of occasions! I think I wo'nt be able to stay away from these very long... P.s. did somebody already do a photo comparison of the black Carrera Chrono versus Omega Moonwatch???
  10. (I found this pic in a Breitling forum.) What do you think of what this guy did to his (gen) Chrono Avenger 'Blackhawk' ??!!!! And what would you put on an olive "G10" for hunting/fishing...? ...hey these colours fit the new RWG housestyle...
  11. Thanks everybody for the compliments and additional pics and info!!! This gets me into gear in posting other write-ups. Next will be items on sailing watches and rally/race watches. @eunomians: I added another of your pics from an earlier NATO post and "picasa'ed" them a little to my taste (or screen ?!)
  12. Pugwash, GREAT instruction I posted it today in my extensive personal research on RWG on NATO straps.
  13. Created: ../07/2007 Edited: 28/01/2008 added pic of 3117 with G10 FIRST: PLEASE DON'T PM OR E-MAIL ME TO ASK ME HELP TO FIND OR RECOMMEND A STRAP FOR YOU. I ONLY INVESTIGATED THE SUBJECT FOR MY OWN PURPOSES AND INTEREST! Don't hesitate to reply this thread and give suggestions. There are lots of knowledgeable people in the forums who can (and want to) help. I am not an expert on the matter and have no connections to any of the dealers that may appear in the watermarks of the pictures I used. None of the pictures are made by me, since at the time of writing this topic I was searching for a suitable "G10" for my RWG "Standard issue" Submariner. I gathered all information below on the net. Thanks to By-Tor for my (blatant) copy of his excellent disclaimer
  14. I hope it will be better than this ©rep... IWC Aquatimer chrono replica Subdials off, logo off,...
  15. OK, I tried very hard to find a double-white-stitched strap like TTK has on his pics with (a.o.) the Chopard XL. But other than a glossy gator or tan model from Hadley Roma I could not find. TTK please don't tell me it's custom made Now I spotted this nice Japanese pic of a Mille Miglia GMT rep (Tach-O-meter i.s.o. Tach-Y-meter :-). I like this combination! ...But I haven't come across a (3-hole) rally strap like this in gator type/grain, only in plain leather. Anybody know where to get this strap???
  16. OK, in that case I think a 21mm Sirtoli curved-end Andreas would be a great addition to the 3717. Too bad for me it looks like 'dark honey' is the darkest colour available... Example:
  17. Thanks Pug, I think this 3717 would also look great with a curved end strap; what's the lug width anyway?
  18. Thanks guys for the suggestions!! TTK, I spotted your Chopard pics before and think they look stunning, especially the double stitching is something special and sporty. I'm also considering the Mille Miglia GMT with white dial on a leather strap. The Radiomirs in gold have caught my attention in the last two weeks; I think these clean models even respresent the brand better than the superp PAM112 and will go great with a suit. Deltatahoe; yep your stunning BCE combination also made it to my wishlist after I spotted it in your collection overview! Where did you get the gen straps; at an AD? I'll be back later with pics after I'll have pulled the trigger...
  19. Now I have a small diversified collection of reps, but what's missing is a nice rep on a dark brown strap to go with either my casual distressed brown calf leather belt or my dressy chocolate brown/cream stitched belt and shoes. I'm interested in your suggestions both dressy as well as casual. Until now I have been thinking about: - a dark brown croc/calf/kudu with white stitching + (off-)white dial. - a dark brown croc/calf/kudu + grey/graphite dial Thanks for your suggestions and pics are very much appreciated!!
  20. The size is 45mm (weight of the regular skyland is 112.8 gr). "breitlingsource.com" also wrote: "Feldmars in Los Angeles, says that only 2000 will be made and each will be numbered. Breitling will produce and release the first 1000, then they will release the remaining 1000. There are approximately 330 Breitling authorized dealers so each may get a few and many dealers are already taking deposits on them so when they do come in, they will probably never make it into the dealer showcases!" Blacksteel will retail for $4650 on Rubber, and the regular Skyland Avenger will retail at $3920 on Pro II bracelet. P.s. I like it and would trade in my Superocean straight away for the regular skyland with leather strap
  21. Look close at the watermarks in the pics... But this will take you there... PU links strap
  22. I like the Nato as well but if you're looking for something different..., a solid PU link bracelet is also an option.
  23. Yep, me too, I'm getting one for my white dial SFSO after the summer (when the rubber Breitling strap comes off) !! That PAM063 and 3717 are definitely on my wishlist now (thanks also Bazz and DeltaTahoe...) ! Please somebody explain to me why the official site shows the Cousteau diver with an orange part while I don't see it on the reps; is that a revival thing?
  24. Well, now you made me curious about the bracelet of the IWC 3717. For everybody else who is thinking the same, here are the official pics. Looks much like the Omega SMP Bond bracelet (that I think is great ;-)) Would it not be great if a rep version of the IWC 3799 Top Gun would exist?! I think that like the (boys dreams) Bond watches it would fly for dealers !!! (I guess if you're real creative you could PVD a 3717 black and put it on a soft strap...)
  25. I just love the titanium version of the 089 GMT with grey chicken leg strap.
